2019: ''Vote Atiku so we can all have food to eat three times daily'' Goodluck Jonathan tells Nigerians

''Vote Atiku so we can all have food to eat three times daily'' Goodluck Jonathan tells NigeriansFormer president Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to Nigerians to vote for PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 election as he is the only one that can guarantee three square meals for everyone. The former president made the appeal when he spoke at the flag-off of the 2019 presidential election campaign by the PDP in Sokoto state today December 3rd.“We have seen four presidents, from Obasanjo to our late brother, Yar’Adua, to myself, and to the current president. You have seen how the various presidents and the various parties have worked, and one thing that is very clear is that PDP is still the number one party. There is something that all of us need as human beings, everybody eats, everybody, every day must eat, and if you cannot eat well, then you are not happy. PDP is the only party that can make sure all of us eat very well, in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening.Let us not make any mistakes, those of us that are adults, old enough to vote, if we vote wrongly, our children and grandchildren will not forgive us. Today, our country has a lot of challenges; look at all the presidential candidates, all of them are good people, but among all, we have seen that it is only Atiku that can deliver'' he saidSpeaking further, he said“If you have a soccer match, you go with your best 11, you don’t manage, if you have a wrestling or a boxing tournament, you go with your best, you don’t manage.  Atiku is experienced enough. He has demonstrated clearly from his personal life and his business life that he has that capacity to bring this country to one, and make our economy grow, so that all of us will have food to eat''.

4 tenants arraigned in Lagos for exhuming landlords corpse and selling his proper

4 tenants arraignedin Lagos forexhuming landlords corpse andselling his propertyFour persons, who allegedly exhumed the corpse of their landlord before selling his property today appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.   The three accused men and a woman are Silifatu Abisile, 60; Jimoh Abisile, 52; Gbade Bakare, 56; and Isaiah Bakare, 45. They are facing a-five-count charge of conspiracy, kidnapping, breach of peace, forgery and false assumption of authority.   The Police Prosecutor, Williams Ologun, told the court that the accused committed the offences on November 1, at Ishola Daniel Street in Oshodi area of Lagos. He alleged that the accused had conspired to illegally sell the house they were living, which did not belong to them. He said that a prospective buyer had insisted they relocated the grave that was in front of the house before he would make payments.  “My Lord, they forged an exhumation of corpse permit from Oshodi -Isolo Local Government and dug up the corpse of the house owner, Sumonu Bakare, who was buried in the compound. They also kidnapped the son of the deceased; Gbenro Bakare, who is crippled, thinking he was the only surviving child of the deceased,” he said.  Ologun said that the first and second accused were relations of the deceased while the third and fourth accused were long time tenants on the property. He said that the third and fourth accused had registered for change of name to ‘Bakare’, which was not their real names, claiming to be the children of the deceased.   The offences contravened Sections 76 (1) [c],  168 (1) (d), 271 (1), 365 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Peter Ojo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum. In his ruling, Ojo insisted that one of each accused sureties must be a blood relation and must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.  He said each of the sureties must also show evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos Government and be gainfully employed. Ojo adjourned the case until January 10 for trial.

Tosyn lived, bigger than life, bolder than death - Husband, Aurelien Boyer writes touching tribute

Tosyn lived, bigger than life, bolder than death - Husband, Aurelien Boyerwrites touching tributeAurelien Boyer, the French hubby of late Nigerian broadcaster Tosyn Bucknor who died on November 19th has just written a touching tribute to his late wife. And according to him, 'The Service of Songs organized for Tosyn was an amazing outpour of genuine love honouring the impact, love, joy and happiness she created in all of us.Here was my tribute 'Guguru morning,I can say it at any time of the day, at any point in time, now. For you have changed days into nights and nights into days. You are irreplaceable. But you also made our lives sweet. Wyfo, you gave me the happiest days of my life. 1 wedding, 2 weddings, 3 weddings, 4, and 1,722 days more. How would I summarize this in a lower number of words?Labalaba mi, your pure heart saved mine when I thought it was already gone for love. And we've flown a première classe flight ever since then on your long and fragile wings. Irawo mi, you were a star to me. You were a Star to all. I remember seeing on one of your to-dos, titled 'before I die' and showing: 'oscar, grammy, golden globe'.You wanted to achieve something that only 37 people had achieved in the history. But guess what? You've achieved it in our hearts and deserved many more awards. You were way too unique for these awards anyway. Where would be the award for how funny you were? How cute you were? How creative you were?BOML, you were a true beauty. 'In and out' would be a an understatement to describe your beauty. Area Boss, I fell in love with you listening to your shows. I was a fan of yours: it helped me understand you. 'What is your traffic situation? What's the weather like in your area? What's DISCO like in your area?'. Some simple questions that actually had a deep meaning. It meant you had love for people. It meant you always wanted to listen to people, genuinely cared for them, and were able to impact each and every human being you met.Even my family, despite the language barrier. Punk, oh my, you were such an annoyingly lovely person. Who will tell me 'don't annoy, usbano' now? Me, I want to annoy. Who's going to tell me 'pele se o gbo', now? I don't want to hear. Who am I going to pretend I listen to the loooong gists of? Ok, fine, I actually always enjoyed listening to you. Who will I call to get your attention as 5 of your phones are off and you won't pick the last one?My tribute shared during the Service of Songs for Tosyn'Con.tra.diction. You were one. On and off stage. Strong but fragile. Hesitant but determined. Confident but not confident. Explosive but simple. Sophisticated but natural. Beautiful but different. Small but tall (or at least 1cm taller than Funke). Leader but follower. Modern but conservative.  Messy but organized. Hard working but laaaaazy.  I could go on for days. And although we all knew you, there was still so much we didn't know about you and will never do. You were special in many ways and accepted the difference, to create something great out of it. You accepted me with my differences, my goods and bads. I learnt a lot from you and about me thanks to you. This will guide me all my life. Now that you are no more on this planet, a lot of questions come to our minds and we don't have all the answers. But I guess if we could #asktosyn , you would have answers available for us. And if don't know the answers, why don't we ask you?And if we don't know what to say, we'll say like you: Peace, Love and Amala !And if we don't know what to eat and don't want to, we'll eat like you: some gewd Amala, again !And if we don't know what to drink and don't want to, we'll drink like you: coca-cola.And if we don't know what to tell our friends, we'll tell them Tosyn lived. Bigger than life, bolder than death. And if we don't know what to tell our kids, we'll tell them this is just another Tosyn's game. And if we don't know if we should shed our tears, we'll let them go, for you will accept them in your ocean of love. And if we don't know what happened, we'll remember that you had a great life, better than many. And if we don't know how to dance and don't want to, well...ahem...let's try not to see you as a role model on everything, ok? People used to wonder if you were the one writing for me. Well, I guess not. You were just such a great material to write about. You were my wife, are my wife and will be, till my end. I've loved you, I love you, and will love you till my end. As you were saying in your song: binti layie, here today, gone tomorrow. Sun re o, wyfo.

Cheating Zimbabwean Nurse ordered to repay her ex-boyfriend £116,000 over an alleged affair with another man in the UK

Cheating Zimbabwean Nurse ordered to repay her ex-boyfriend 116,000 over an alleged affair with another manin the UKA cheating Zimbabwean Nurse was ordered to repay ex-boyfriend £116,000 following an alleged affair with another man.37-year-old Trish Garikayi who is based in the UK admitted that she was given a Porsche 911 and a £100,000 diamond bracelet by love-struck businessman Wisdom Penfold, 58. Despite showering her gifts and money, the jilted man claimed he caught her having an affair with another man.The court heard £218,000 had been paid into Garikayi's account after Mr Penfold sold two investment properties.Insisting the money was a gift, she said that, throughout the relationship, "if I wanted something, I would get it"."As far as the discussion I had with Wisdom, they were gifts to me."We were in love, the relationship was strong at that point. So there was no need for me to question or query."Her lawyer, Chike Ezike, added: "The nature of the relationship was one where Mr Penfold bestowed and showered Miss Garikayi with lavish gifts."It was also alleged that Garikayi spent some of the cash on herself and £91,000 to buy a property in Harare, Zimbabwe, without his permission.Mr. Penfold was left with no option than taking the matter to court, where a judge ruled that she "misappropriated" money Mr. Penfold entrusted to her when blinded by love. The judge then ordered her to pay £116,000 to her ex-boyfriend also hand him 20% of her £340,000 home. After the judge gave the verdict, Ms.Garikayi hurled her £2,500 engagement ring towards her ex-fiance, who then calmly picked it up and handed it to his solicitor.Judge Alexander Hill-Smith said she had her "eyes firmly on winning the case"."I unhesitatingly prefer the evidence of Mr Penfold... he gave his evidence in a careful way."I find his account of the break-up of the relationship, his returning to the house, his reaction to it, going to A&E and being badly affected, compelling."Her account of the breakdown of the relationship was very unspecific."His written statement is thorough and comprehensive and presents a coherent account of what occurred."The Central County Court in London heard how Garikayi earlier claimed to be a "kept woman" and insisted that the money, like the luxury goods he lavished upon her, was a non-returnable gift.Lawyers of Mr. Penfold, who is a tree importer, and exporter, say they will be seeking £62,000 in costs against Miss Garikayi, and the judge ordered her to pay £30,000 of that within 21 days.

'Not one notable politician or political party has spoken up publicly for Deji and this sickens me' - FFK speaks on Deji Adeyanju's arrest

Read the article by Femi Fani Kayode below... I do not agree with him on everything and I deplore his views about my friend and brother, the lion of the east, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yet the truth is that I love and admire my younger brother Prince Deji Adeyanju.   I consider the outrageous things that the Buhari government is doing to this deeply courageous man, who has always resisted tyranny and injustice and who has always spoken up for others, as unacceptable and I am utterly astounded at the silence of the entire political class in the face of this injustice.  Where are the voices of the leading members of the opposition and opposition political parties? Where are the voices of the Shiite Muslims whose cause he often championed?  Where are the voices of the human rights and civil rights groups who he stood shoulder to shoulder with in his quest to make Nigeria a better and safer place? Why have they not condemned this injustice and outrage?  Not one notable politician or political party or so-called leader has spoken up publicly for Deji and this sickens me. When will they learn that what has happened to Deji may end up also happening to them or theirs if not challenged and checked?  When will they learn to comprehend and come to appreciate the adage that says "an act of injustice against one is an act of  injustice against all?"  When will they stop being self-serving, self-centred,  shortsighted, lily-livered cowards and learn that we must all speak for one another and watch each others backs?  This is especially so regardless of how we may feel about the victim of the governments tyranny at any point in time? Whether you like him or not, it is Deji today but it could be any of you tomorrow.  When will they accept the fact that this battle is not merely about winning an election but about breaking the yoke of tyranny and liberating our people from wholesale bondage, modern-day servitide and good old-fashioned slavery?  When the history of this age is written, amongst the heroes that will be listed will not be the regular politicians and desperate office-seekers who regard themselves as todays leaders but rather selfless, courageous and strong-willed men and women of principle, honor and vision who were prepared to put everything on the line including their lives and liberty for a better tomorrow like Deji Adeyanju.  It is not members of today's ruling elite and political class who are, generally-speaking, fearful, timid, weak and frail and who, more often than not, are given to compromise with evil in return for gain but rather the non-conformists and great and heroic figures like Adeyanju that are  the true architects of what will eventually and inevitably be a new and free Nigeria where justice, the rule of law, self-determination, free speech, freedom of association, true democracy and liberty has its place. Deji may be in detention today and they may be planning to rearrest him when he is released and lock him up again on terrorism charges but the truth is that it really does not matter because tomorrow belongs to men like him.  And most important of all, no matter what they do, they cannot break his indomitable spirit. I weep not for Deji Adeyanju, I weep for Nigeria.

Jubril: 'I donate understand why Bishop Oyedepo keeps going this far to peddle falsehood and disinformation about President Buhari' - Tolu Ogunlesi

'I dont understand why Bishop Oyedepokeeps going this far to peddle falsehood and disinformation about President Buhari' - Tolu OgunlesiTolu Ogunlesi, one of President Buhari's media aides has reacted to yesterday's sermon by Bishop Oyedepo where the man of God addressed the issue of 'Jubril' from Sudan and its consequences. In the sermon, Bshop Oyedepo quoted an article (a satire) from The Nation newpaper and concluded that, 'If the President does not refute Jubril Al-Sudani, then he is not our president'. Tolu Ogunlesi in his response said;Olatunji Dare, one of Nigeria’s finest satirists, wrote a piece titled ‘Buhari’s Double’ on November 27 and Pastor of one of Nigeria’s LARGEST CHURCHES cites the SATIRE in a sermon (apparently yest) as evidence PMB likely dead.I know the Bishop has always detested PMB (its a free world, really, the right to dislike anyone is guaranteed constitutionally atink), but I don’t understand why he keeps going this far to peddle/amplify (from the pulpit) falsehood and disinformation about him. Really puzzling.Watch Bishop Oyedepo's sermon below..

LUTH strike: Doctors cry out over 3-months unpaid salaries

LUTH strike: Doctors cry out over 3-monthsunpaid salariesThe Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Branch, has lamented over the non-payment of its members’ salaries by the hospital’s management in the last three months.   It called on the Federal Government to come to the members’ aid to enable them end the strike, which took effect last Thursday. The hospital’s ARD President, Dr. Adewale Oba, in an interview with The Nation at the association’s secretariat in LUTH, Idi-Araba, said the non-payment of salaries has affected his members negatively.   According to Oba, many resident doctors could no longer transport themselves to work, feed their families and take care of other basic things because their September, October and November salaries have not been paid.   However, a statement by the Head, Corporate Services, LUTH, Kelechi Otuneme, said the hospital’s management has engaged the Ministry of Finance and other appropriate ministries/ offices to correct the shortfall in payment of allocations, adding that efforts have reached an advanced stage to resolve it and pay outstanding salaries.   But, Oba said the association would continue with the strike because no specific information was made available to them on when the salaries would be paid. He lamented that many doctors have been borrowing money to cope with the economic situation in the country.  “We never wanted to go on strike, but we have been praying that things would be resolved before it got this worse. We have tried all forms of engagement to ensure that salaries are paid but till now, it has yielded no result.Over two weeks ago, we gave an ultimatum to LUTH management and the Federal Government, which lasted till last Wednesday. Following the ultimatum, the Congress of ARD LUTH took a decision to go on a total and indefinite strike, which began last Thursday.”  He noted that the association was informed that LUTH’s budget was cut short of about N3 billion from what it used to collect. Oba added that his members were informed that letters have been written to Ministry of Finance, “but there is no fruitful result yet”.   He said: “We cannot continue to be working without getting salaries. This is unthinkable and it is discriminatory. We hope that this situation does not get out of hand because Nigerian citizens do not deserve all of this. The resident doctors are the defence for consultants because we are in training and it is expected that the training we have been given should transfer to the patients. So, if we are not working, the consultants alone cannot see the patients in LUTH because of the massive inflow of patients into the hospital.
