FRSC Anambra Sector Commander, Sunday Ajayi dies in motor accident(photos)

The Federal Road Safety Commission, Anambra Sector Commander, Sunday Ajayi, has died after he was involved in a car accident in Asaba, Delta state, on Saturday, December 15th.According to reports, Ajayi and his driver were heading to Anambra state when suffered the ghastly car accident. While Ajayi lost his life, his driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Canelo Alvarez knocks out Liverpools Rocky Fielding in third-round

On Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez viciously went after Rocky Fielding and knocked him out in the third round of their super middleweight title fight at a sold-out Madison Square Garden. Alvarez knocked down Fielding once apiece with left hooks to the body in the first and second rounds, and twice in the third round once with a right hand to the head and again with a left hook to the body.   Referee Ricky Gonzalez stopped the fight at 2:38 of the third round, immediately following that fourth knockdown. Mexico’s Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs), who went off as roughly a 15-1 favorite, won the WBA world super middleweight title from England’s Fielding (27-2, 15 KOs).  Alvarez, 28, fought for the first time at the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds. Fielding, 31, has exclusively competed at super middleweight and light heavyweight (175 pounds) throughout his eight-year pro career.  Alvarez technically became a champion in a third weight class and won the WBA’s secondary super middleweight title from Fielding, though.

Billionaire businessman and oil magnate, Dapo Abiodun is currently enmeshed in a certificate scandal. This is according to a report by TheCable. Read below.Dapo Abiodun, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, is enmeshed in allegations of perjury over his post-secondary school qualifications, TheCable can report.According to documents seen by TheCable, Abiodun declared only his West African School Certificate (1978) in the Form CF001 that he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on October 23, 2018, ahead of the 2019 general election.However, when he ran as the APC senatorial candidate (Ogun east) in 2015, he claimed to have attended the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (graduating in 1986) and Kennesaw State University, Atlanta Georgia, US (1989) in his INEC form CF001, backed by an affidavit he swore to at the high court, Abeokuta, Ogun state.Curiously, while he listed B.B.A. (hons) accounting as the degree he got in 1986 as at then, he was silent on what he studied at Kennesaw State University.However, in his official curriculum vitae, he claimed to possess another degree, B.Eng (hons) in civil engineering, presumably received in 1989 from the American university.Also, on the website of Heyden Petroleum Limited where Abiodun is MD/CEO, underneath his name were listed B.Sc civil engineering and BBA accounting.If he proceeded immediately to Kennesaw after graduating from Ife in 1986, he would not have finished before 1990 as civil engineering is a four-year course at the university.There are strong suspicions that he did not do the compulsory national youth service, even though he finished his first degree in 1986 — going by the INEC form CF001 that he filled ahead of the 2015 election, supported by an affidavit.Abiodun was born on May 29, 1960 and was 26 in 1986 when he claimed to have finished his first degree. The age limit for national service is 30.Apart from the possibility of having committed perjury either in 2014 or 2018, there is also the possibility that he skipped the compulsory national service, which is punishable under the law.SECTION 13 OF THE NYSC ACT STATES:(1)Any person (b) who refuses to make himself available for service in the service corps continuously for the period specified in subsection (2) of this section, is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of N2,000 or to imprisonment for a term of twelve months or to both such fine and imprisonment.A criminal conviction will also mean the offender is barred from holding public office.SECTION 182 OF THE 1999 CONSTITUTION STATES:182. (1) No person shall be qualified for election to the office of Governor of a State if – (e) within a period of less than ten years before the date of election to the office of Governor of a State he has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or he has been found guilty of the contravention of the code of Conduct.Earlier this year, he was appointed chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.In 2012, he was appointed chairman of the Depot and Petroleum Product Marketers Association (DAPPMA), a position he still holds.Abiodun has been having a running battle with Ibikunle Amosun, governor of the state, and the state working committee of the APC over his endorsement by the national body of the party for the 2019 governorship election, instead of Adekunle Akinlade, the governor’s choice.The APC candidate had accused Amosun of plotting to upturn the decision of national working committee (NWC) of the ruling party to recognise him as the guber candidate of the state, while accusing the governor of being “desperate to install” Akinlade at all cost.All calls and SMS to his phone by TheCable went unreplied and unreturned.

account American comedian, Pete Davidson posted an unsettling message saying he didn't "want to be on this earth anymore" before deleting his Instagram account.Davidson’s post came after his ex-fiancée Ariana Grande commented on Kanye West’s recent tweets about Drake. In a since-deleted tweet on Thursday night, Grande wrote, “Guys, I know there are grown men arguing online [right now], but Miley [Cyrus] and I [are] dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight, so if y’all could please just behave for like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u.”Kanye replied her on Twitter writing: “I know Ariana said this to be cool, and didn’t mean no harm, but I don’t like even slightest level of slight commentary from someone I know loves and respects me.” He added, “People will no longer take mental health for a joke.”After Kanye's reply, Grande tweeted that she was "so sorry I told a dumb joke. I really didn't mean any harm. all I want everyone to be healthy and happy. so desperately. please. my god." Following Grande and West’s tweets, Davidson who has mental health issues wrote on Instagram, “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. National Assembly workers to begin 4-days warning strike on Monday

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly chapter, has issued a four-day warning strike notice which will commence on Monday, December 17.   According to the Chairman of the association, Bature Mohammed, in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, the decision was reached in an emergency congress held on December 14.   Though President Buhari is due to present the 2019 Appropriation bill to the joint National Assembly on Wednesday, December 19, Mohammed said that the warning strike which would run till December 20, was to press home the demands of the association.   The chairman advised that all members of the association should stay away from their duty posts during the period as members of PASAN had on December 4 shut down operations at the National Assembly when they prevented lawmakers from sitting.   The grievances of PASAN include a new condition of service for members, promotion and payment of 28 per cent increment in salary captured as contained in the 2018 budget

40 years after, Charlyboy remarries Lady Diane in Abuja (Photos)

Nigerian musician and human rights activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charlyboy, remarried his American wife, Diane Oputa after 40 years and three children.   Charlyboy and Diane exchanged marriage vows on Saturday evening at the Chapel of Sisters of Jesus the Redeemer Catholic Church in Gwarimpa, Abuja. The low-keyed wedding was officiated by the outspoken Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Dioceses, Bishop Mathew Kukah, and had in attendance close friends and relatives of the couple, including the aged mother of Charlyboy. The Archbishop of Abuja Catholic Diocese, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, was also in attendance among some other clergymen. Charlyboy, who is 67 years, has nine children from different women, and has 16 grandchildren.

Woman arrested for killing her neighbors 2-year-old son just to punish his dad

Chineye Ndubiife has been arrested for murdering Wisdom, the 2-year-old son of her neighbor, Promise Samuel, in Lagos. The incident happened, on Wednesday, December, 12, 2018, at 70 Lawani Street, Alakoto, Olodi Apapa. The suspect who is cooling off in the cell at Tolu Police station, revealed how she sent a child to call Wisdom from their room. Ndubiife, a mother of one, then took him to the backyard where she hit his head against the wall, before hitting his head again with a big stone, leading to his death. Consequently, she dumped the child's corpse in the toilet, where Mr Samuel later found him. Asked why she killed the boy, Ms Ndubuife disclosed that her intention was to inflict severe injury on him so that his father would spend money on treating him.

President Trump's Secretary of Interior, Ryan Zinke forced to step down amidst pressure by ethics inquiries

United States Interior Secretary, Ryan Zinke will quit the administration by the end of the year. President Trump made the announcement on Twitter saying;"Secretary of the Interior @RyanZinke will be leaving the Administration at the end of the year after having served for a period of almost two years. Ryan has accomplished much during his tenure and I want to thank him for his service to our Nation".The Trump Administration will be announcing the new Secretary of the Interior next week. Zinke has been the target of an Interior Department's inspector general investigation over concerns about his travel and and "potential conflicts of interest," which reports says were factors in his decision to step down as Secretary.
