The Bauchi State Police Command has put a ban on all forms of social
gathering in public places in the state without the approval of the
command. According to the police, the ban is in line with the Public
Order Act and its statutory responsibility for the prevention of crime
which is in view of recurrent violence emanating from such gathering,
that led to the loss of lives and property. The decision comes after
three persons were killed and eight others injured following a violence
that erupted at a birthday party in Lushi, an area near Yelwa, in Bauchi
State. In a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP
Kamal Abubakar, any person or group of people wishing to organise any
form of a social event should seek security clearance from police. He
explained that such clearance can be got from the Divisional Police
Officer (DPO) of an area or as the case may be from the Area Commander
or the Commissioner Police not less than 48 hours of the scheduled
gathering time. “Anybody found violating this order will be arrested
and dealt with according to the law. Once again, the Command appeals for
cooperation from the members of the public in this regards, as it is
done in the best interest of peace loving people of the state and not to
deny anybody’s fundamental right of freedom of association and to
ensure that the existing peace and security in the state is sustained”,

about women being in abusive marriages all because they want to stay
married due to societal pressure. In a video she shared on Facebook,
Zizi reacted to the story of a married Nigerian woman whose husband told
her to send her teenage daughter from a past relationship away from his
house simply because he is sexually attracted to the daughter.
According to Zizi, the woman came on Facebook to ask her followers what
she should do, whether to stay in her marriage and send her daughter
away or move out of the home. Apparently angered by the story, Zizi in
her video, scolded women for staying put in marriages that are very
unhealthy for them. The mum of one who is married to a White man,
said:''When it comes to marriages and what a man or woman do, I don't
really bother because it is their decision and they are adults and you

kids in it is where it gets me because these kids did not ask to be

On Thursday, the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi hosted the immediate past

Nigerian Customs officers reject $400k bribe during the seizure of N7.3bn worth of Tramadol from India
On Thursday, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) seized 40-foot
containers loaded with tramadol and other drugs from India worth
over N7.3billion. A large number of the dangerous drugs, NCS said, were
imported into the country by some scrupulous importers from India to
endanger the health of the nation. Attempt by the importers to bribe
Customs officers with over $400,000 (about N150million), to effect the
release of just one container out of the 40 seized, it was gathered, was
rebuffed by the officers. Addressing reporters at the Apapa command of
the Service while displaying the dollars yesterday, its
Comptroller-General, Col. Hameed Ali (retd), said NCS has also impounded
two helicopters that can be used for nefarious activities. One of the
helicopters with registration number SN-BLI, the Customs helmsman said,
was intended for export, and was concealed in container number
PONU7789246, while the second helicopter, a Cessna 182A, was imported
into the country from the United States of America for unknown
assignment. Ali said the first helicopter was falsely declared as 388
bags of cashew nuts, while the second was concealed in container number
MRKU 4457663 before they were intercepted by some vigilant and patriotic
officers of the command. Investigation, the CGC said, was ongoing to
fish out the owners of the two helicopters. He said three suspects with
some Customs officers that were involved in the clearance of some of the

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said it cannot
probe Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who is accused of
receiving millions of dollars in bribe because as a sitting governor, he
enjoys constitutional immunity from criminal proceedings. “The
governor is still serving and constitutionally is covered by immunity.
Being that as it may, the matter is in the instance sub judice,” the
EFCC wrote during a tweet meet organised by Tap Nitiative for Citizens
Development, a public accountability think-tank.
Ganduje
has been the subject of several videos, which appeared to show him
engaging in contract racketeering. At least six of such videos have been
published since the first clip was released on October 11. The
governor could be seen receiving wads of US dollars from persons
believed to be public works contractors. Ganduje has dismissed the
videos as “cloned” and filed a lawsuit against the publisher of the

objection raised by the defense. The defense, led by Kanu Agabi, SAN,
objected to the admissibility of the document, stating that the
documents were not front-loaded into evidence and even if it was
admitted they will need time to study it. Okoroma, however told the
court that the prosecution had tendered the same documents in the

A driver has been taken into custody after he allegedly kidnapped his
boss' children in Lagos and stabbed them to death when his demand for a 3
million Naira ransom was not met.The suspect, who has been the family’s
driver for years, went to pick his boss' three kids from school as
usual last week but, rather than take them home, he drove them to a bush
from where he called their mother, demanding a ransom of 3 million
Naira. 
The
mother told him she didn't have such amount and pleaded for the return
of her kids. But the angry driver stabbed them all, killing the two boys
and leaving the girl in critical condition.The girl who is the elder of
the three siblings is in the Intensive Care Unit of an undisclosed
hospital.

Automatic Teller Machines, has been apprehended by men of the Anambra
state police command. Parading the suspect before newsmen yesterday

Okafor was arrested at the Nnewi branch of Access Bank by policemen on

General revealed during the trial of the suspects in the April 5th bank
robbery, that the police had sent him a letter saying that the
principal suspect in the robbery attack that claimed over 30 lives, had

death does not in anyway vindicate the Senate President, Dr. Bukola

when the Senate President paid a condolence visit to Offa after the Bank

Adeola Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez, Niyi Ogundiran have direct connection

five (5) gang leaders when paraded by the Police was in ‘Aso Ebi’
(trouser) used during the Senate President daughter’s wedding. The Five
(5) gang leaders further admitted that they attended the Senate
President daughter’s wedding held in Abuja.Consequent on all the above, a
thorough and discreet investigation was concluded by the Police into
the matter and all the Five (5) gang leaders namely; Ayoade Akinnibosun,
Ibukunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez, Niyi Ogundiran
arrested for direct involvement and active participation in the Offa
Bank Robbery that indicted and implicated Senator Bukola Saraki, Senate

away during the Offa Bank Robbery.Michael Adikwu ‘M’ 30Yrs was not
murdered but slummed and died in detention while investigation into the
Offa Bank Robbery was ongoing. It is also important for the public to
know that the deceased Michael Adikwu ‘M’ 30Yrs was not among the Five
(5) gang leaders that indicted and implicated the senate President,
Senator Bukola Saraki, therefore, his death cannot in anyway vindicate
Senator Bukola Saraki. There is a post-mortem examination result in
respect of the death of Michael Adikwu ‘M’ 30Yrs.The indictment of the
Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki from the confessions of the Five
(5) gang leaders namely; Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibukunle Ogunleye, Adeola
Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez, Niyi Ogundiran arrested for direct
involvement and active participation in the Offa Bank Robbery was not
politically motivated as alleged by Mr. Yusuf Olaniyonu, Special Adviser
(Media and Publicity) to the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki to
the media, but purely criminal case.It should be of serious concern to
all, that human life is sacrosanct and where investigation has been
concluded and suspects arraigned in Court, judicial process must be
exhausted and not hindered for the law to take its course in ensuring
justice for the families of more than Thirty Three (33) innocent persons
including pregnant women that were gruesomely murdered in cold blood by
Michael Adikwu and the Five (5) gang leaders Ayoade Akinnibosun,
