Read
the article by Femi Fani Kayode below... I do not agree with him on
everything and I deplore his views about my friend and brother, the lion
of the east, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yet the truth is that I love and admire
my younger brother Prince Deji Adeyanju. I consider the outrageous
things that the Buhari government is doing to this deeply courageous
man, who has always resisted tyranny and injustice and who has always
spoken up for others, as unacceptable and I am utterly astounded at the
silence of the entire political class in the face of this
injustice. Where are the voices of the leading members of the
opposition and opposition political parties? Where are the voices of the
Shiite Muslims whose cause he often championed? Where are the voices
of the human rights and civil rights groups who he stood shoulder to
shoulder with in his quest to make Nigeria a better and safer place? Why
have they not condemned this injustice and outrage? Not one notable
politician or political party or so-called leader has spoken up publicly
for Deji and this sickens me. When will they learn that what has
happened to Deji may end up also happening to them or theirs if not
challenged and checked? When will they learn to comprehend and come to
appreciate the adage that says "an act of injustice against one is an
act of injustice against all?" When will they stop being self-serving,
self-centred, shortsighted, lily-livered cowards and learn that we
must all speak for one another and watch each others backs? This is
especially so regardless of how we may feel about the victim of the
governments tyranny at any point in time? Whether you like him or not,
it is Deji today but it could be any of you tomorrow. When will they
accept the fact that this battle is not merely about winning an election
but about breaking the yoke of tyranny and liberating our people from
wholesale bondage, modern-day servitide and good old-fashioned
slavery? When the history of this age is written, amongst the heroes
that will be listed will not be the regular politicians and desperate
office-seekers who regard themselves as todays leaders but rather
selfless, courageous and strong-willed men and women of principle, honor
and vision who were prepared to put everything on the line including
their lives and liberty for a better tomorrow like Deji Adeyanju. It is
not members of today's ruling elite and political class who are,
generally-speaking, fearful, timid, weak and frail and who, more often
than not, are given to compromise with evil in return for gain but
rather the non-conformists and great and heroic figures like Adeyanju
that are the true architects of what will eventually and inevitably be a
new and free Nigeria where justice, the rule of law,
self-determination, free speech, freedom of association, true democracy
and liberty has its place. Deji may be in detention today and they may
be planning to rearrest him when he is released and lock him up again on
terrorism charges but the truth is that it really does not matter
because tomorrow belongs to men like him. And most important of all, no
matter what they do, they cannot break his indomitable spirit. I weep
not for Deji Adeyanju, I weep for Nigeria.Jubril: 'I donate understand why Bishop Oyedepo keeps going this far to peddle falsehood and disinformation about President Buhari' - Tolu Ogunlesi

Did you know that squatting can change your voice?
A

teach a masterclass. Right? That's exactly what happened at the MTN
Foundation sponsored Masterclass for students of the Music Society of
Nigeria (MUSON), many of whom are also beneficiaries of the Foundation’s
music scholarship. Masters changed all we thought we knew about
singing. See, we listened to people sing their hearts out, and we
marvelled at the enabler that could possibly live in their lungs
propelling them to sing like that! They reached pitches we had never
heard before. Opera is a peculiar taste that takes some getting used to.
We know. It’s not for everyone. We know. We were like you a month ago,
but now we are fans after watching young people exhibit superhuman vocal
chords at the masterclass held at the MUSON Centre, Onikan
Lagos! People sang and we were gobsmacked! “That was awesome”, someone
whispered from behind us. We really thought it couldn’t get better than
that. Well, all that changed the moment the ‘masters’ stepped on the
stage. Daniel Taylor, a countertenor and Ellen McAteer, a professor of
voice at the University of Toronto and a two-time recipient of the
Richard Bradshaw Graduate Fellowship in Opera, showed us the meaning of
‘master’. Kai! And here comes a stunner. Daniel walked up to one of the
performers who had blown us away and told her to squat when she sang a
line. We raised our brows in question. Singing was now exercise? If only
we had known. The next time the young woman opened her mouth, we simply
stared. She sang better and everyone marvelled at a new revelation that
was previously known only to the gods. It’s possible to sing better
just by squatting! So now, before we sing we do some form of exercise
ooo! We know better now.

Drake has
settled his lawsuit against Layla Lace (real name Laquana Morris), a
woman who allegedly falsely claimed that she was raped and impregnated
by the rapper. This was revealed by Drake’s attorney Larry Stein in a
statement made to TMZ. “The filing made by Drake against Layla Lace has
been resolved, with Layla avoiding going to trial by agreeing to a
stipulated judgment which prohibits her from repeating past statements
she made against Drake,” “Drake and his team are satisfied with this
outcome and while Drake appreciates the support he has received, he asks
that his fans and the media allow both parties to move on with their
lives.” In September, Drake filed his lawsuit against Morris for civil
extortion, fraud, emotional distress, abuse of process and defamation.
In the suit, the rapper admits to having consensual sex with Morris
while at a Manchester, England hotel in February 2017. According to the
suit, soon after, Morris claimed she booked a flight to see him, but the
suit alleged Morris became angry after she didn’t get a response and
she then canceled the flight and Drake ceased communications with
her. Then in April 2017, Morris took to Instagram and stated she was
pregnant, claiming that Drake was the father. Soon after, she appeared
on a radio show to discuss the claim. “I know who I sleep with
unprotected, period,” she told SiriusXM’s Shade 45. “So it’s 100 percent
sure. He knows it.” The suit also alleged that Morris also claimed that
Drake raped her and that even after Manchester police cleared him of
any allegations of sexual assault, Morris demanded money from the
rapper.According to documents filed on Friday and obtained by TMZ, the
rapper informed the court that he and Morris have resolved their legal
issues. As part of the settlement per TMZ, Morris has agreed to abstain
from republishing her Instagram post from April 2017 where she first
made the pregnancy claim and that she will not make “statements alleging
or insinuating [Drake] assaulted her,” got her pregnant and abandoned
her, or any other denigrating comments about Drake.Nigerian Army says $1bn approved to fight insurgency hasn’t been released

being processed. He added that fake news not only pose threat to
