Boyer, the French hubby of late Nigerian broadcaster Tosyn Bucknor who
died on November 19th has just written a touching tribute to his late
wife. And according to him, 'The Service of Songs organized for Tosyn
was an amazing outpour of genuine love honouring the impact, love, joy
and happiness she created in all of us.Here was my tribute 'Guguru
morning,I can say it at any time of the day, at any point in time, now.
For you have changed days into nights and nights into days. You are
irreplaceable. But you also made our lives sweet. Wyfo, you gave me the
happiest days of my life. 1 wedding, 2 weddings, 3 weddings, 4, and
1,722 days more. How would I summarize this in a lower number of
words?Labalaba mi, your pure heart saved mine when I thought it was
already gone for love. And we've flown a première classe flight ever
since then on your long and fragile wings. Irawo mi, you were a star to
me. You were a Star to all. I remember seeing on one of your to-dos,
titled 'before I die' and showing: 'oscar, grammy, golden globe'.You
wanted to achieve something that only 37 people had achieved in the
history. But guess what? You've achieved it in our hearts and deserved
many more awards. You were way too unique for these awards anyway. Where
would be the award for how funny you were? How cute you were? How
creative you were?BOML, you were a true beauty. 'In and out' would be a
an understatement to describe your beauty. Area Boss, I fell in love
with you listening to your shows. I was a fan of yours: it helped me
understand you. 'What is your traffic situation? What's the weather like
in your area? What's DISCO like in your area?'. Some simple questions
that actually had a deep meaning. It meant you had love for people. It
meant you always wanted to listen to people, genuinely cared for them,
and were able to impact each and every human being you met.Even my
family, despite the language barrier. Punk, oh my, you were such an
annoyingly lovely person. Who will tell me 'don't annoy, usbano' now?
Me, I want to annoy. Who's going to tell me 'pele se o gbo', now? I
don't want to hear. Who am I going to pretend I listen to the loooong
gists of? Ok, fine, I actually always enjoyed listening to you. Who will
I call to get your attention as 5 of your phones are off and you won't
pick the last one?My tribute shared during the Service of Songs for
Tosyn'Con.tra.diction. You were one. On and off stage. Strong but
fragile. Hesitant but determined. Confident but not confident. Explosive
but simple. Sophisticated but natural. Beautiful but different. Small
but tall (or at least 1cm taller than Funke). Leader but follower.
Modern but conservative. Messy but organized. Hard working but
laaaaazy. I could go on for days.And although we all knew you, there
was still so much we didn't know about you and will never do. You were
special in many ways and accepted the difference, to create something
great out of it. You accepted me with my differences, my goods and bads.
I learnt a lot from you and about me thanks to you. This will guide me
all my life. Now that you are no more on this planet, a lot of questions
come to our minds and we don't have all the answers. But I guess if we
could #asktosyn , you would have answers available for us. And if don't
know the answers, why don't we ask you?And if we don't know what to say,
we'll say like you: Peace, Love and Amala !And if we don't know what to

guess not. You were just such a great material to write about.You were

A 69-year-old pensioner, who says he identifies as a 49-year-old
and appealed to a court to legally change his age, has lost the bid to
do so. Emile Ratelband, 69, said that he felt far younger than his real
age implied on his birth certificate. He also said his age limited his
options on dating app Tinder and also limited his job options. He said
he should be allowed to be 49 again (read here). However a district
court in the Netherlands said this was not possible in a ruling
today. Officials ruled that changing someone's age would affect the
legal responsibilities that come with the passing of time.In
a ruling published online, the court said:The court did not find any
reason in Mr Ratelband’s arguments to create new case law in line with
the statutory provisions on changes to a person’s officially registered
name or gender.Its main reason was that, unlike the situation with
respect to a change in registered name or gender, there are a variety of
rights and duties related to age, such as the right to vote and the
duty to attend school.If Mr Ratelband’s request was allowed, those age
requirements would become meaningless.Mr Ratelband's case had been
referred to a court in the city of Arnhmen in the eastern Dutch provice
of Gelderland. 
He
was born on March 11, 1949, but says he feels at least 20 years younger
and wants to change his birth date to March 11, 1969.Mr Ratelband
said:I have done a check-up and what does it show? My biological age is
45 years.When I'm 69, I am limited. If I'm 49, then I can buy a new
house, drive a different car. I can take up more work.When I'm on Tinder
and it say I'm 69, I don't get an answer.When I'm 49, with the face I
have, I will be in a luxurious position.Transgenders can now have their
gender changed on their birth certificate, and in the same spirit there
should be room for an age change.He claims he is discriminated against
because of his age, and that he encounters problems in society on a
daily basis.The judge said that he had some sympathy with Mr Ratelband,
but the court said there would be practical problems in allowing people
to change their birth date as it would mean legally deleting part of
their lives.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and paraded street pop star,
Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, for unlawful
possession of firearms and for allegedly threatening to shoot a police
officer. Edgal Imohimi, Lagos State Commissioner of Police confirmed
his arrest moments ago while parading the musician along with three
other persons. Small Doctor was arrested on allegations that he
threatened a Police officer who was on traffic duty along Oshodi, Lagos.
“It was alleged that some unknown men, four of them, in an
unregistered green SUV had brought out a gun and threatened a policeman
that if he does not leave the road, they will shoot him.Believing that
they were armed robbers, I sent out my men and fortunately, with the DPO
in charge of Shogunle division, they were able to intercept them and
the men were arrested and were brought down to the headquarters for
interrogation.It was then discovered that one of them is the same
Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. 'Small Doctor'. They were arrested in
possession of a functional rifle, cartridge and some of their personal
belongings" Imohimi said.According to the commissioner, 'Small Doctor'
had earlier been involved in a similar offence and is currently under
investigation for firing live ammunition at the Agege stadium after a
show on November 27. He said: “Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. 'Small
Doctor', was arrested and taken to the state CID for questioning. He was
alleged to have fired a gun; the pellets from the gun injured four
people who were rushed to the hospital.” 'Small Doctor' will be charged
to court for prosecution.

style for another reception in Delhi after they had their second wedding

Father Ejike Mbaka disgracing Peter Obi for not donating to his

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to Nigerians to vote for
PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 election as he
is the only one that can guarantee three square meals for everyone.The
former president made the appeal when he spoke at the flag-off of the
2019 presidential election campaign by the PDP in Sokoto state today
December 3rd.“We have seen four presidents, from Obasanjo to our late
brother, Yar’Adua, to myself, and to the current president. You have
seen how the various presidents and the various parties have worked, and
one thing that is very clear is that PDP is still the number one party.
There is something that all of us need as human beings, everybody eats,
everybody, every day must eat, and if you cannot eat well, then you are
not happy. PDP is the only party that can make sure all of us eat very
well, in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening.Let us not
make any mistakes, those of us that are adults, old enough to vote, if

One
child is dead and dozens of people are injured after a bus carrying a
youth football team crashed in Arkansas. Arkansas State Police
spokesman, Bill Sadler explains that a charter bus carrying the youth
football team crashed and overturned. The bus was returning to Memphis,
Tennessee from a championship game in Dallas, Texas, when it crashed
west of Benton.“One child is dead and at least 40 other individuals,
most of them children, are reported to be injured. The injured have been
transported to area hospitals in Little Rock and Benton. The bus driver
is alive and is being questioned by state troopers,” the Arkansas state
police said in a Facebook post.
Today,
the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC) leave to arraign former petroleum Minister,
Diezani Alison-Madueke, and a former Chairman of Atlantic Energy
Drilling company, Olajide Omokore, on February 25th. Alison-Madueke
and Omokore, are to be arraigned on five counts bordering on conspiracy
and illegal act of accepting and giving gratifications. Trial judge,
Justice Valentine Ashi, granted the EFCC leave, after the prosecution
counsel, Faruk Abdullahi told the court that while investigations were
on going, the former minister left the country and is currently in the
UK. The suspects, are to be arraigned for allegedly accepting and giving
gift of properties described as penthouse 22,Block B, Admiralty Estate,
Ikoyi, and penthouse 21, building 5, block C, Banana Island, Lagos. The
EFCC said the alleged offence, contravened the provisions of Sections
26(1) and 17 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act,
2000. The prosecutor, Faruk Abdullahi told the court that while
investigations were on going, the former minister left the country and
is currently in the United Kingdom. He also said that on invitation by
the EFCC, Mrs Madueke refused to honour the invitation but everything
has since been put in place to ensure she comes back to face trial.
The counsel for the second defendant, Tayo Adeniyo SAN, told the court
that his client was not served with the charges and his client is ready
to clear his name.

Four
persons, who allegedly exhumed the corpse of their landlord before
selling his property today appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’
Court in Lagos. The three accused men and a woman are Silifatu
Abisile, 60; Jimoh Abisile, 52; Gbade Bakare, 56; and Isaiah Bakare, 45.
They are facing a-five-count charge of conspiracy, kidnapping, breach
of peace, forgery and false assumption of authority. The Police
Prosecutor, Williams Ologun, told the court that the accused committed
the offences on November 1, at Ishola Daniel Street in Oshodi area of
Lagos. He alleged that the accused had conspired to illegally sell the
house they were living, which did not belong to them. He said that a
prospective buyer had insisted they relocated the grave that was in
front of the house before he would make payments. “My Lord, they forged
an exhumation of corpse permit from Oshodi -Isolo Local Government and
dug up the corpse of the house owner, Sumonu Bakare, who was buried in
the compound. They also kidnapped the son of the deceased; Gbenro
Bakare, who is crippled, thinking he was the only surviving child of the
deceased,” he said. Ologun said that the first and second accused were
relations of the deceased while the third and fourth accused were long
time tenants on the property. He said that the third and fourth accused
had registered for change of name to ‘Bakare’, which was not their real
names, claiming to be the children of the deceased. The offences
contravened Sections 76 (1) [c], 168 (1) (d), 271 (1), 365 and 411 of
the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. They, however, pleaded not guilty
to the charges. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Peter Ojo, granted the accused
bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum. In
his ruling, Ojo insisted that one of each accused sureties must be a
blood relation and must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction. He
said each of the sureties must also show evidence of three years tax
payment to the Lagos Government and be gainfully employed. Ojo adjourned
the case until January 10 for trial.

cheating Zimbabwean Nurse was ordered to repay ex-boyfriend £116,000
following an alleged affair with another man.37-year-old Trish Garikayi
who is based in the UK admitted that she was given a Porsche 911 and a
£100,000 diamond bracelet by love-struck businessman Wisdom Penfold, 58.
Despite showering her gifts and money, the jilted man claimed he caught
her having an affair with another man.The court heard £218,000 had been
paid into Garikayi's account after Mr Penfold sold two investment
properties.Insisting the money was a gift, she said that, throughout the
relationship, "if I wanted something, I would get it"."As far as the
discussion I had with Wisdom, they were gifts to me."We were in love,
the relationship was strong at that point. So there was no need for me
to question or query."
Her
lawyer, Chike Ezike, added: "The nature of the relationship was one
where Mr Penfold bestowed and showered Miss Garikayi with lavish
gifts."It was also alleged that Garikayi spent some of the cash on
herself and £91,000 to buy a property in Harare, Zimbabwe, without his
permission.Mr. Penfold was left with no option than taking the matter to
court, where a judge ruled that she "misappropriated" money Mr. Penfold
entrusted to her when blinded by love.The judge then ordered her to pay
£116,000 to her ex-boyfriend also hand him 20% of her £340,000
home.After the judge gave the verdict, Ms.Garikayi hurled her £2,500
engagement ring towards her ex-fiance, who then calmly picked it up and
handed it to his solicitor.
Judge
Alexander Hill-Smith said she had her "eyes firmly on winning the
case"."I unhesitatingly prefer the evidence of Mr Penfold... he gave his
evidence in a careful way."I find his account of the break-up of the
relationship, his returning to the house, his reaction to it, going to
A&E and being badly affected, compelling."Her account of the
breakdown of the relationship was very unspecific."His written statement
is thorough and comprehensive and presents a coherent account of what
occurred."The Central County Court in London heard how Garikayi earlier
claimed to be a "kept woman" and insisted that the money, like the
luxury goods he lavished upon her, was a non-returnable gift.Lawyers of
Mr. Penfold, who is a tree importer, and exporter, say they will be
seeking £62,000 in costs against Miss Garikayi, and the judge ordered
her to pay £30,000 of that within 21 days.
