PDP Will Never Come Back To Aso Rock, Osinbajo Vows
Yemi Osinbajo, vice president, has vowed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not be allowed to return to power again.
Mr Osinbajo made the vow on Saturday in Lagos while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Door-To-Door-Campaign flag off of the Professor Yemi Osinbajo (PYO) Support Group.
He said his principal, Muhammadu Buhari, who seeks a second term in office will not loot the resources of the country, as this is the different between the president and other presidential candidates.
“After 16 years of ensuring that the country did not make progress, they want to come back. They will never come back again. We are making progress and we will continue to make progress. We are going to the next level,” Osinbajo said referring to the PDP which governed the country since the return to democracy in 1999.
The opposition party’s bid to hold sway for 60 years was thwarted by the APC who won the 2015 presidential election.
“Our major problem in Nigeria is corruption; it’s not plans. There are so many plans. If you allow the resources of the country to be stolen, no plan can work. The difference between Muhammadu Buhari and any other president is that he will not steal and he will not allow stealing,” the vice president continued.
“The most important thing of all is that we will prevent a situation where people who have stolen our money in the past come back into government. If they do, there won’t be progress no matter what they say.
“The money of this country must be preserved so that it will benefit us all. Education, healthcare, jobs, if you don’t have money, you can’t do them.
“There are only two types of leaders in Nigeria, those who want to steal the money and those want to use the money for the common good.
“If we want progress for our country, we must make sure that we put in place those who want to use the money for the common good, not those who want to steal it,” he said
The Man In Aso Rock Is Buhari, Ngige Swears
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, on Sunday swore that “the man in Aso Rock” was President Muhammadu Buhari and not any impostor as being peddled by the opposition.
Ngige stated this in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, while answering questions from journalists.
He said those who were insinuating that Buhari was Jubrin from Sudan were those who wished him dead.
Ngige said,
“I’m talking to you as a medical doctor. If you are well treated by your doctor, you will be rejuvenated. That’s the case with Buhari. That is why he is bubbling with life. His doctors treated him well.
“I see him regularly. He’s the Buhari who worked as minister of petroleum; he is the Buhari who was the head of state of this country. He remembers all these.
“I ask our people to come out en masse and vote massively for him in the 2019 elections. We should stop listening to all these gutter talks.
“Truth to God, the man in Aso Rock is Buhari and no other person. I see him regularly.
“He’s the man that employed us as ministers and we meet with him during the FEC meetings
Police Arrest Six For Pasting Sowore’s Posters At Night
The Police in Lagos have arrested six people for allegedly pasting the posters of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, at night.
The Police spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, said the action contravened the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency laws that forbade advertisers from pasting posters at “no other hour other than the day time.”
He explained that the men also violated an agreement reached during a meeting between the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, and political parties that nobody would destroy the campaign materials of others.
Oti noted that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the anti-crime unit around 2.30am on Sunday.
He said, “The anti-crime patrol team of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja Division, around 2.30am on December 9, 2018, arrested six young men, namely, Olagokun Odunayo, Kool-Kloud Henry, Ugaju Joseph, Damilola Omidiji, Michael Kate and Banwo Olagokun, of Take It Back movement, tearing posters of other political parties and replacing them with that of the African Action Congress, contrary to the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency laws that forbid advertisers from pasting posters at no other hour than the day time.
“Recall that an agreement was reached to the effect that no political party should undertake the defacing of campaign posters of other political parties or the destruction of their billboards, at a meeting at the Police Officers Mess, GRA, Ikeja, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, tagged, ‘Security and stakeholders meeting,’ involving the INEC, chairmen of all political parties in the state and their flag bearers, chaired by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi.
“The following exhibits were recovered from the suspects: a poster bearing the picture of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Mr. Sowore; brush, buckets containing gum and torn posters of other political parties.”
He added that the CP had directed that the suspects be charged to court on Monday for malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, to serve as a deterrence to others.
Obasanjo Wants Buhari Voted Out, Denies Being Neutral – Kehinde Akinyemi
Ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo has denied reports that he is not backing any particular candidate in the upcoming 2019 presidential elections, PoliticsNGR has learned.
Obasanjo, in a statement on Sunday, through his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, expressly stated that he wasn’t in support of President Buhari.
The statement read;
“While Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is in Cairo to attend the maiden edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), of which he is Chairman of the Advisory Council, his attention has been drawn to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) with the headline “Atiku: Obasanjo Shifts Political Gear to Neutral.”
It is disingenuous, if not malicious, for anyone to suggest that Chief Obasanjo was being neutral when he chose not to use the Owu Convention as a platform for political campaign but instead adopt a communal and familial approach in talking to members of his Owu family,” .
“For the records, and as accurately reported by some media organisations, what the former president said at the convention in Iwo was that while he would not impress any candidates on them, Nigerians should vote for credible candidates who will drive growth and development and make their lives better than it is now.” Mr. Akinyemi said.
He further explained that Obasanjo’s statement did not mean neutrality stating that; “only a fool will sit on the fence or be neutral when his or her country is being destroyed with incompetence, corruption, lack of focus, insecurity, nepotism, brazen impunity and denial of the obvious.”
The former leader, who has declared his support for opposition presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said he would not sit on the fence adding that he stands in the best interest of Nigeria.
He maintained that he would continue to speak against poor governance and nobody should manipulate his stance on the 2019 presidential election
Governor Ajimobi pays condolence visit to the family of Iyalode of Ibadan who died two weeks to her 94th birthday
Aminat Abiodun, the iyalode of Ibadan, Oyo state capital, died in the early hours of Saturday Dec 8th barely two weeks to her 94th birthday on December 24.
Abiodun was the sole female representative in the 10-member advisory council of the olubadan of Ibadan. Following the death of her predecessor, Wuraola Akintola, Abiodun was installed as the 13th iyalode on October 19, 2007.
Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo state governor, has described the late Iyalode as a “titan” and “colossus who has made her mark in the sand of time”.
He said: “Let me on behalf of the people and government of Oyo State extend condolence to the nucleus family of Mama. By tradition and relationship, Mama was my mother.
I knew mama since I was like nine years old and she was an exemplary mother, very elegant, very beautiful. She had presence both in character and in carriage. She epitomised mobility. She epitomised elegance and consequently became the queen of Ibadanland, if you like Queen of women if that is accepted. She rose through the ranks and paid her dues. She was successful in all ramifications.
So for me I think it’s the passage of a titan of Colossus who has made her mark in the sand of time. I think for me it’s a great loss but let’s take solace in the fact that she lived well, left good children, left me, left us.”
The governor said the ancient city of Ibadan will forever remember “the irreplaceable” Abiodun who will be buried on Sunday.
Nnamdi Kanu Blasts Apostle Suleman, Hails Oyedepo Over Jibril From Sudan – Religion
Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has commended General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo over his statement on President Muhammadu Buhari being dead and replaced as ‘Jubril of Sudan’
Report recalls that Oyedepo last week Sunday urged his congregation to pray to God to deliver Nigeria from slavery, shame, and reproach as the report of Buhari being dead replaced as Jubril Sudan was disturbing.
But, reacting, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi described The cleric as a ‘hater of Buhari,’ questioning why the cleric would go to a far length to discredit Buhari.
However, Oyedepo, speaking again on Saturday in reaction to the Presidency vowed not to withdraw his statement because it was not a hate speech.
Also reacting to Oyedepo’s statement, Kanu in a live broadcast on Saturday said the pastor’s reaction was an example of how religious leaders should react to ‘Buhari replaced as Jubril’ which he described as an abomination.
The Biafran leader, however, blasted the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Suleman and General Overseers of mega churches who did not foresee the replacement of Buhari as Jubril, yet claim to be led by God.
According to him:
“Jubril is a real fellow impersonating dead Buhari, who cannot speak Fulani language like the real Buhari.
“Nothing your pastors say come to pass, was it not Apostle Suleman that said I would be disgraced locally and internationally but now I’m not, it was the devil that spoke to him not elohim.. instead of him to say Nnamdi Kanu will bring to the fore news that will expose some people. I do not expect more from him because he is a Northerner, so he wants to preserve one Nigeria.
“I commend Oyedepo because he has woken up and I give him credit for that, he spoke passionately about Jubril. That was how I expect every leader to react because this is an abomination before man and heaven and earth
“All of you that attend mega churches, those that claim Daddy G.O sees into the future, ask ur G.O how come they never forsaw Jubril of Sudan.
“This Jubril saga has showed that none of your Daddy G.O is a child of living Elohim, they are all blind in the spiritual realm. But I believe at the end of the year some of them will come up with fake unfulfillable prophecies and Nigerians will sow seed and tie into it but nothing will come out of it.
“We have looked at the so-called men of God that claim they know it all and capable of providing viable leadership as they have all failed Nigerians. Find out from them why they have failed.
“A particular prophet in Enugu is so blind that he does no know Buhari is dead, he prayed for Buhari that Nnamdi Kanu will not do anything to you.
“They love going to him because I no longer give him money but this Jubril saga has destroyed him, he is now a hungry and poor man. His prayers for jubril shows how sad his life has become.
“Some of your pastors still go and visit Jubril and pray for him, but that’s what hunger can do to someone.
