'Like him or not you cant ignore him' - Audu Maikori writes as he meets Speed Darlington in New YorkChocolate City music executive, Audu Maikori shared a photo from his meeting with internet sensation, Speed Darlington and according to Audu, 'like him or not you can’t ignore him'.'so I finally met the controversial and talented Speed Darlington. My sister Amina Maikori put me on to him over a year ago! And she also wrote a brilliant article about the stickiness of his brand. How he’s cleverly worked his way into our minds and hearts, like him or not you can’t ignore him.Indeed he gave me one of the most inspiring lines I have heard this year. He said “Dont let society tell you what you can or cannot do. Don’t allow them tell you that you can only do one thing.. it’s not true, you  can be anything you decide we want to be, if you work hard on it. That’s why  I am always busy , always on the move I like to go home very exhausted everyday. You rest when you die , until then... everyday is for the grind“. Remember even Diddy  says he was inspired by him'.

I played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal, in the national team, while he is still in Spain.'Like me, accept the challenge. However, if he is happy there, I respect him, he is a fantastic player, a good guy but I do not miss anything here. This is my new life and I'm happy.'Ronaldo went on to outline the differences between his time in Spain and at his new club. He said: 'It's not fair to name just a few, but I can say that this is the best group I've ever played. 'Here we are a team, elsewhere someone feels bigger than others but here they are all on the same line, they are humble and want to win.'If Dybala or Mandzukic do not mark, you still see them happy, smile. For me it is beautiful, I perceive the difference. 'Even in Madrid they are humble but here I feel they are more so. 'It is very different from Madrid, this is more a family

STIRKE: APC, party of vagabonds – ASUU

FB_IMG_1544473326386.jpg
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party of vagabonds, adding that the former national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande is the grandfather of half-baked government for accusing striking lecturers of producing vagabonds and unemployable graduates.
The union said it was unfortunate that a supposed leader of Akande’s status could render a statement with warped logic.
Chief Bisi Akande had condemned the strike embarked upon by ASUU in Oke Ila Orangun where he went to commission one storey classroom donated to Abolarin college recently.
He was reported to have said the union is destroying the country with demands that are not genuine.
While reacting, the ASUU chairman, University of Ibadan, Dr. Deji Omole, said it was shameful that Chief Bisi Akande by age and previous offices held in the country before now is qualified to be called an elder statesman.
Omole stated that Akande’s recent outburst against the ongoing patriotic struggle by ASUU to save public university education in Nigeria clearly exposed him that he is just an elder only by age but not a statesman.
“The same Bisi Akande who himself was a teacher during the free education programme of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo sacked hundreds of teachers and left Osun state education in tatters now claims to value quality graduates while shying away from adequate investment in education.
“It is on record that during Akande’s time as governor all the higher institutions in Osun State were closed down due to the anti-masses policy of his administration on education.
“It is even self-indicting for the leader of a ruling party who is destroying public education with chronic underfunding of the existing institution but busy itself to mushrooming of new universities without any funding plan to still be talking in public. The budget for education in the current year was wickedly cut down to seven percent to demonstrate their hatred for public funded education,” Dr. Omole said.
According to him, ASUU is not government that promised Nigerian youths gainful employment like the ruling party did and so “could not be blamed for the failure of the clueless government to establish industries.”
The ASUU boss said it was because of the likes of Akande who is interested in killing public education to allow for their children and grandchildren to dominate and oppress the children of the masses that they go on strike.

I can’t join man u cause of Jose

IMG_20180925_210806.jpg
One of Manchester United’s targets who has been tipped to improve their defensive woes has shut down rumours of a move to Old Trafford, whilst launching a scathing attack on Jose Mourinho.
According to a report from the Express, Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji has revealed that he will not be moving to Old Trafford as long as Mourinho is in charge of the Red Devils.
The 23-year-old joined Dortmund in the January transfer window from Basel and the Swiss international has since become a mainstay in Dortmund’s defence under Lucien Favre.
Akanji told German publication WAZ this on a potential move to United: “It’s true that from an early age I was a fan of Manchester United. But at the moment I’m not really looking at the games because I do not like the way they play under Jose Mourinho.”
It speaks volumes of the current situation at Old Trafford that even a childhood United fan isn’t too keen on the prospect of playing under Mourinho.
Dortmund are seven points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table after 13 games. Should Favre’s sides defy the odds and win the league this season, big moves for Dortmund stars like Akanji will certainly be on the cards in the summer.

EFCC speaks on raiding Atiku's son's home in Abuja

EFCC speaks on raiding Atiku's son's home in AbujaEFCC has reacted to media reports that claimed operatives of the commission raided the Abuja residence of Atiku's sons. In its response, EFCC said 'we have received several calls and email messages asking us to confirm the arrest of the sons of the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as being alleged in some quarters. Some only said we raided the apartments of Atiku’s sons looking for foreign currencies. This is nothing but another tales by moonlight'. See the rest of the statement below...It is in the news that we have been investigating the former Abia governor, Senator Theodore Orji over alleged N27 Billion Naira money laundering. In the course of investigation, we discovered that he laundered part of the money through his sons. We have been on the trail of some of the purchases made by his son including the cars the boys allegedly bought.Last Friday, we traced one of the cars to a Nite Club in Abuja. In order not to cause panic, we waited until the business of the club was over and when the owner of the suspected car came to enter to take off, we arrested him and his friend who has a similar brand of car. That was about 5am on Saturday, December 8, 2018.The two boys we arrested were Ogbonna Orji, 32, and Kelvin Ilonah. While Orji's Car, a Range Rover is valued at about N100 million, Ilonah’s car also a Range Rover, is valued at about N35 Million. In the course of further interrogation, the two boys led us to their apartment, three flats, and documents retrieved from the apartment showed it was rented for N13 million each per annum.Another brand new Prado Jeep, a 2017 model was recovered from the boys in the compound. The two boys in question gave useful information to the Commission which is helping in our further investigation. The EFCC, as a responsible organisation is abreast of the establishment mandate and we shall not deviate from such mandate. We never went after Atiku's sons neither were Atiku's sons among the two boys arrested. There is no link whatsoever to Atiku.Only last week, the people’s Democratic Part, PDP was alleged to have raised alarm that the Commission blocked and or freeze the accounts of the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi. Again, this was another lie which we immediately punctured as there was no truth in it whatsoever, to the accusation. Till now, only silence has prevailed from the camp of the accusers.

Court fixes December 18 for the œproper arraignment of NBA President, Paul Usoro

Court fixes December18 for theproper arraignment of NBA President, Paul UsoroJustice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi has fixed December 18, 2018 for the “proper” arraignment of the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Paul Usoro. Usoro was scheduled to be arraigned today, Monday, December 10, 2018 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly converting and laundering a sum of N1.4bn belonging to the Akwa Ibom State government. However, the arraignment was stalled due to the unavailability of the defendant to be served the charge. At today’s sitting, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that the EFCC’s investigators could not serve the charge on the defendant because he was not available. “He pleaded with them that he has a function abroad and that he will be available on Friday, December 7, 2018. However, the defendant did not make good his promise for the charge to be served on him,” he told the court. Oyedepo further told the court that it was important that the defendant be served personally, especially for the proper commencement of these proceedings. "My Lord, since he is here now and the charge is in the file, the court can direct the prosecutor to serve him. Then, we can take a date for arraignment. The service copy is in the office of the Director of Operations, I only have my own copy here”, he said. However, the lead defence counsel, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, told the court that "It is the duty of the prosecutor to serve the defendant. It is wrong for the prosecutor to tell a defendant to come and pick his charge. Olanipekun also told the court that his client did not make any promise to honour any invitation by the prosecution to pick up his charge. The defendant voluntarily came to court today. “The defendant is the NBA President; so, he is always very busy with a lot of engagements. He was just told that the matter would come up today. He was called this morning that he should come to pick his charge and he responded politely," he added. He, therefore, urged the court to direct the officer of the court to serve the charge on the defendant, adding that "We also ask that the court direct its Registrar to serve the charge on the defendant before the next adjourned date." In a short ruling, Justice Hassan ordered the prosecutor to serve the defendant with the charge and adjourned to December 18, 2018 for proper arraignment.

Court orders final forfeiture of NDDC director, Tuoyo Omatsulis N1.8bn properties

Court orders final forfeiture of NDDC director, Tuoyo Omatsulis N1.8bn propertiesJustice Chuka A. Obiozor of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, December 10, 2018, ordered the final forfeiture of a number of properties worth N1.8bn recovered from the Executive Director, Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC, Tuoyo Omatsuli, to the Federal Government. The Judge had, on Thursday, May 17, 2018, ordered the interim forfeiture of the properties, following an ex-parte application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The properties are: Block 117, Plot 4, Lekki Peninsula Scheme, TPAO 992, Ikate Ancient City, Eti-Osa L.G.A, Lagos, measuring 1804.089Sqm and Plots 1-18, Block 43, TPAO 992, Ikate Ancient City, Lekki Peninsula, Eti-Osa, Lagos, measuring 10,000Sqm. Others are: Plot 1b, Northern Business District, Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1, measuring 1000Sqm and Plot 1; Block 25, Lekki Peninsula Residential Scheme 1, Eti-Osa L.G.A, measuring 2989.10Sqm.Moving the ex-parte application, counsel to the applicant, Ekene Iheanacho, had referred to paragraph four of the affidavit, detailing how a contractor with the NDDC, Starline Consultancy Services Limited, was paid the sum of N10, 218, 019, 060.59) (Ten Billion, Two Hundred and Eighteen Million, Nineteen Thousand and Sixty Naira) as consultancy fee for levies collected from oil processing companies in the Niger Delta Region. It was further stated that out of the money paid to Starline, a sum of N3, 645, 000. 00 (Three Billion, Six Hundred and Forty- five Thousand Naira) was paid as kickback to Omatsuli through a company named Building Associates Limited. “Some of the funds were used by Building Associates to buy properties in the name of a company, Don Parker Properties Limited, where Omatsuli had majority shareholding,” Iheanacho had further told the court. The applicant also told the court that one Francis Momoh, who is described as the majority shareholder in Building Associates Limited, was introduced as a shareholder in Don Parker Properties Limited so as to disguise the nature of the crime. After hearing the submissions, Justice Obiozor had granted all the reliefs sought by the applicant and ordered the interim forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government. The Judge had further directed the Commission to publish the order in any national newspaper within 14 days, notifying the respondents or anyone interested in the properties to appear before the court and show cause why the properties should not be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria. The applicant, in compliance to the court’s order, had published the interim forfeiture order in The Nation Newspaper of May 26, 2018. However, the respondents had, on October 1, 2018, opposed the application, claiming ownership of the properties. Delivering his judgment today, Justice Obiozor held that the properties were acquired through proceeds from kickbacks received by Building Associate Limited operated by Momoh on behalf of Tuoyo. The Judge, therefore, ruled that the property should be finally forfeited to the Federal Government.
