Accept the challenge and join me in Italy' - Cristiano Ronaldo tells his arch-rival Lionel Messi

this is more a familySTIRKE: APC, party of vagabonds – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party of vagabonds, adding that the former national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande is the grandfather of half-baked government for accusing striking lecturers of producing vagabonds and unemployable graduates.
The union said it was unfortunate that a supposed leader of Akande’s status could render a statement with warped logic.
Chief Bisi Akande had condemned the strike embarked upon by ASUU in Oke Ila Orangun where he went to commission one storey classroom donated to Abolarin college recently.
He was reported to have said the union is destroying the country with demands that are not genuine.
While reacting, the ASUU chairman, University of Ibadan, Dr. Deji Omole, said it was shameful that Chief Bisi Akande by age and previous offices held in the country before now is qualified to be called an elder statesman.
Omole stated that Akande’s recent outburst against the ongoing patriotic struggle by ASUU to save public university education in Nigeria clearly exposed him that he is just an elder only by age but not a statesman.
“The same Bisi Akande who himself was a teacher during the free education programme of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo sacked hundreds of teachers and left Osun state education in tatters now claims to value quality graduates while shying away from adequate investment in education.
“It is on record that during Akande’s time as governor all the higher institutions in Osun State were closed down due to the anti-masses policy of his administration on education.
“It is even self-indicting for the leader of a ruling party who is destroying public education with chronic underfunding of the existing institution but busy itself to mushrooming of new universities without any funding plan to still be talking in public. The budget for education in the current year was wickedly cut down to seven percent to demonstrate their hatred for public funded education,” Dr. Omole said.
According to him, ASUU is not government that promised Nigerian youths gainful employment like the ruling party did and so “could not be blamed for the failure of the clueless government to establish industries.”
The ASUU boss said it was because of the likes of Akande who is interested in killing public education to allow for their children and grandchildren to dominate and oppress the children of the masses that they go on strike.

I can’t join man u cause of Jose

One of Manchester United’s targets who has been tipped to improve their defensive woes has shut down rumours of a move to Old Trafford, whilst launching a scathing attack on Jose Mourinho.
According to a report from the Express, Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji has revealed that he will not be moving to Old Trafford as long as Mourinho is in charge of the Red Devils.
The 23-year-old joined Dortmund in the January transfer window from Basel and the Swiss international has since become a mainstay in Dortmund’s defence under Lucien Favre.
Akanji told German publication WAZ this on a potential move to United: “It’s true that from an early age I was a fan of Manchester United. But at the moment I’m not really looking at the games because I do not like the way they play under Jose Mourinho.”
It speaks volumes of the current situation at Old Trafford that even a childhood United fan isn’t too keen on the prospect of playing under Mourinho.
Dortmund are seven points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table after 13 games. Should Favre’s sides defy the odds and win the league this season, big moves for Dortmund stars like Akanji will certainly be on the cards in the summer.

Politicians insert money into bread and distribute to voters to buy votes - INEC reveals
INEC has revealed that politicians now bypass security by inserting
money into bread to buy votes.Mr Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, stated that the umpire
does not buy or sell votes during elections. He, however, disclosed that
he was at the ongoing public hearing organised by the National Assembly
to hear from those who buy and sell votes to know how it's being
done.Present at the hearing were President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki;
Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; other leaders and
members of the National Assembly, political parties, security agencies
and more. Following the hearing, Yakubu revealed that it was discovered
that one of the ways through which politicians beat security to buy
votes during elections is to insert Naira notes in sandwiches while
pretending that they are feeding voters. He said:We talk too much as a
nation. We should stop talking and do more for our country. One week after, kidnappers kill Ondo polytechnic lecturer, Taiwo Akinyemi

Court fixes December 18 for the œproper arraignment of NBA President, Paul Usoro
Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi has
fixed December 18, 2018 for the “proper” arraignment of the President of
the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Paul Usoro. Usoro was scheduled to be
arraigned today, Monday, December 10, 2018 by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly converting and
laundering a sum of N1.4bn belonging to the Akwa Ibom State government.
However, the arraignment was stalled due to the unavailability of the
defendant to be served the charge. At today’s sitting, the prosecution
counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that the EFCC’s investigators
could not serve the charge on the defendant because he was not
available.
“He
pleaded with them that he has a function abroad and that he will be
available on Friday, December 7, 2018. However, the defendant did not
make good his promise for the charge to be served on him,” he told the
court. Oyedepo further told the court that it was important that the
defendant be served personally, especially for the proper commencement
of these proceedings. "My Lord, since he is here now and the charge is
in the file, the court can direct the prosecutor to serve him. Then, we
can take a date for arraignment. The service copy is in the office of
the Director of Operations, I only have my own copy here”, he
said. However, the lead defence counsel, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, told the
court that "It is the duty of the prosecutor to serve the defendant. It
is wrong for the prosecutor to tell a defendant to come and pick his
charge. Olanipekun also told the court that his client did not make any
promise to honour any invitation by the prosecution to pick up his
charge. The defendant voluntarily came to court today. “The defendant is
the NBA President; so, he is always very busy with a lot of
engagements. He was just told that the matter would come up today. He
was called this morning that he should come to pick his charge and he
responded politely," he added. He, therefore, urged the court to direct
the officer of the court to serve the charge on the defendant, adding
that "We also ask that the court direct its Registrar to serve the
charge on the defendant before the next adjourned date." In a short
ruling, Justice Hassan ordered the prosecutor to serve the defendant
with the charge and adjourned to December 18, 2018 for proper
arraignment.Court orders final forfeiture of NDDC director, Tuoyo Omatsulis N1.8bn properties
Moving
the ex-parte application, counsel to the applicant, Ekene Iheanacho,
had referred to paragraph four of the affidavit, detailing how a
contractor with the NDDC, Starline Consultancy Services Limited, was
paid the sum of N10, 218, 019, 060.59) (Ten Billion, Two Hundred and
Eighteen Million, Nineteen Thousand and Sixty Naira) as consultancy fee
for levies collected from oil processing companies in the Niger Delta
Region. It was further stated that out of the money paid to Starline, a
sum of N3, 645, 000. 00 (Three Billion, Six Hundred and Forty- five
Thousand Naira) was paid as kickback to Omatsuli through a company named
Building Associates Limited. “Some of the funds were used by Building
Associates to buy properties in the name of a company, Don Parker
Properties Limited, where Omatsuli had majority shareholding,” Iheanacho
had further told the court.
The
applicant also told the court that one Francis Momoh, who is described
as the majority shareholder in Building Associates Limited, was
introduced as a shareholder in Don Parker Properties Limited so as to
disguise the nature of the crime. After hearing the submissions, Justice
Obiozor had granted all the reliefs sought by the applicant and ordered
the interim forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government. The
Judge had further directed the Commission to publish the order in any
national newspaper within 14 days, notifying the respondents or anyone
interested in the properties to appear before the court and show cause
why the properties should not be forfeited to the Federal Government of
Nigeria. The applicant, in compliance to the court’s order, had
published the interim forfeiture order in The Nation Newspaper of May
26, 2018. However, the respondents had, on October 1, 2018, opposed the
application, claiming ownership of the properties. Delivering his
judgment today, Justice Obiozor held that the properties were acquired
through proceeds from kickbacks received by Building Associate Limited
operated by Momoh on behalf of Tuoyo. The Judge, therefore, ruled that
the property should be finally forfeited to the Federal Government.
