An Irish woman who got married to the ghost of a 300-year-old pirate
says they have split up less than one year after marriage.Amanda Teague,
46, from Drogheda, County Louth, in Ireland, married the ghost of a
Haitian pirate, named Jack, whom she referred to as her "soulmate". She
fell in love with and married the pirate's ghost because she was tired
of "physical world" men.The wedding between Amanda and Jack, who was
purportedly executed for thieving on the high seas in the 1700s, held
earlier this year on board a boat in international waters off the Irish
coast. It was conducted by a Shaman priest. 
Amanda
paid a whopping €6,000 to change her name legally after the wedding.
She also worked as an impersonator of "Pirates of the Caribbean"
character Jack Sparrow. She changed her look and had replica tattoos,
dreadlocks and gold teeth fitted to look like identical to the

Woman stabs Lagos food seller for refusing to sell to her on credit
A woman has been arrested for stabbing a food seller because she refused
to sell food to her on credit in Lagos. The 47-year-old
suspect, named Aminat Ayileri, is a tailor who is struggling to make
ends meet. As a result, she frequently bought food on credit from a food
seller in Ejigbo, named Abiodun Ishola. Aminat had reportedly racked
up a debt of N8,000 overtime. When she went to ask Abiodun to sell food
to her again, Abiodun refused and asked her to pay up her debts before
she will get food. That did not go down well with Aminat and she
attacked Abiodun and stabbed her close to the right eye. Aminat was
charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for assault where she
pleaded not guilty before the Court. Aminat was granted bail in the sum
of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. She was remanded in prison
custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.The matter was

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says the lingering
strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), might
soon come to an end as the leadership of the union and the Federal
government have reached a partial agreement. Recall that the academic
union began their strike action on November 5th to demand better funding
for the Education sector. Speaking after a reconciliation meeting with
the union yesterday December 10th, the Minister told newsmen that the
strike would soon be called off as efforts are being made to meet the
demands of the union.“We have finished our deliberation. I am happy to
report that we touched some areas of understanding in implementation
from the memorandum of action which we agreed to in 2017. Some of these
areas we have substantial compliance and some other areas have not been
fully dealt with. Like the issue of shortfall in salaries of some
federal universities’ workers and lecturers, ASUU has given a list to
the accountant-general’s office and we have agreed that by Wednesday
that list should be cross-checked by the presidential initiative on
continuous auditing. So, the accountant-general’s office is to get back
to us by Wednesday.“We also have the issue of earned allowances,
revitalisation, these are issues of 2009 agreement and partial
implementation and we have agreed on the modus operandi to look into the
fund situation, this is due to low revenue on the part of government.We
have agreed on what we are going to do to make sure that the
outstanding amount is handled in a way that all parties will be properly
accommodated. We also discussed the issue of state universities and
agreed also that even if education is on the concurrent list, the
universities should be properly funded and staffed so that we do not
produce half-baked students from those universities. In realisation of
this, the ministry of education will set up a committee, that would
engage the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and the minister of education has
taken steps in that direction to formalise the interaction. Thus
discussion are fruitful and we do hope that in the next adjourned date

The Lagos state police command have arrested the Assistant Pastor of the
Anointed Chosen Vessel Ministry, Okota, Lagos, Mike Oliseh, 54, after
he was accused of defiling the 12-year-old twin daughters of a church
member and close friend.According to police sources, Oliseh who is
married with four children, lives in the same compound with the parents
of his victims in Ago palace way in Okota, Lagos state.Oliseh and his
victims fathers, Okoro, got close after he employed his services. Oliseh
who is a bore hole driller, contracted Okoro to be his
transporter since he owned a bus. Oliseh then got so close to the
Okoro's and invited over to his church.Okoro's wife however travelled on
a business trip in 2017 and then the clergymen started sleeping in
their home.Narrating how it started, one of the daughters, Chioma (not
real name), said Oliseh threatened to withdraw the support he was
giving to their family if she refuses to sleep with him. “He started to
rape me last year. He used to come to sleep in our house. He said there
was heat in his apartment. So, while my twin sister and I would sleep on
the floor, he used to sleep on the bed with my father. While my dad
slept, he would come to the floor and sleep with me. He has done it many
times. He put his male reproductive organ in my private parts. He
threatened that if I told my father, he would not take him to work
again. He and my father eat and work together, and they both sleep on
the same bed.” she saidThe mother of the victims, Chidera, said Oliseh's
evil act was brougfht to light when an elderly woman caught him pulling
down the pants of their second daughter.“On that Thursday, my daughter
did not go to school; she was alone in the compound. Mike (Oliseh) came
and chased her. The girl ran into the backyard to hide. He went there
and started pulling her pants; the girl shouted. An elderly woman, who
came for omugo (the Igbo practice of female parents tendering their
daughters’ newborn babies) in our compound and was in the room, saw
him.When she opened the door, Mike quickly brought out a phone and
pretended to be speaking to my husband on the telephone. He said he
wanted to give my daughter something, but she was not ready to collect
it. He then put his phone in his pocket and left. The woman, who
observed that he did not dial any number on the phone before putting it
to his ear, called my husband to ask the children what his friend had
been doing to them. That was how the secret was blown open. He slept
with my first daughter regularly, but had only succeeded in inserting

bus and whenever he had a borehole drilling job, I used the vehicle to
take the equipment to site. He would pay me for the service. He also

Office of the Public Defender and the victims were referred to the
Mirabel Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. A
social worker at the OPD said the results of the tests carried out on
the victims confirmed that the girls had been defiled.Confirming the
incident, the state police command spokesperson, Chike Oti, said the

A longtime acquaintance and academic adviser to Hart’s kids, Merle Soden, has come to his defence, as he is also a “proud member of the LGBTQ community.”
In a tweet dated back to 2011, Hart had written: “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.” Though Hart said he’s repeatedly apologized for those comments, his announcement as the bost of the 2019 Oscars was met with huge backlash.
“I have known Kevin Hart for almost 10 years and have been in his kids’ life, taught them to read and write . . . I am a proud member of the LGBTQ Community and I stand up for Kevin Hart,” Soden posted as he spoke up for Kelvin. “I stand in solidarity for Kevin Hart while he is being ridiculed for being homophobic. I am the biggest, most out LGBTQ member on his team and [he] has never showed me any prejudice or bias because of my HIV status or because of my LGBTQ status,” Soden informed.

Court dismisses suit filed by ex-governor Segun Oni against incumbent, Kayode Fayemi over Ekiti election
The Ado Ekiti Division of the Federal High Court has dismissed the suit
filed by former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, to challenge
the eligibility of Governor Kayode Fayemi to contest in the July 14
governorship election in the state. Oni, who was an All Progressives
Congress aspirant in the election, in the suit, challenged Fayemi’s
eligibility on the grounds that the governor did not resign his
appointment as a minister 30 days before the party primaries and as well
that he was indicted by the Justice Silas Oyewole-led commission of
inquiry last year. The commission of inquiry was set up by the former
Governor Ayodele Fayose to probe the finances of the state government
when Fayemi was governor of the state between 2010 and 2014. Among
others, Oni, through his counsel, Chief Anthony Adeniyi, prayed the
court to void the votes cast for Fayemi in the primaries for refusing to
resign and the indictment, withdraw the certificate of return issued to
Fayemi, declaring Oni as duly nominated APC candidate and as well duly
elected governor in the July 14 election. Fayemi's lawyer, Chief Rafiu
Balogun, who urged the court to strike out Oni’s suit for lack of merit,
said Fayemi was not a public servant nor an official of the APC hence
the resignation clause was not binding just as he said an Abuja court
had quashed the decision of the commission of inquiry. The case, which
had earlier begun at an Abuja Division of Federal High Court was
transferred to Ado Ekiti last month. Justice Uche Agomoh, while
delivering her two-hour judgment on Monday, dismissed the suit for
lacking in merit, saying, “I am of the firm view that the originating
summons is hereby dismissed.” Agomoh, who resolved the issues for
determination in favour of Fayemi, said the governor could not be
disqualified on the basis of the report of the Commission of Inquiry
whereby an Abuja court had quashed the indictment. The judge said:
“Indictment does not satisfy the definition of conviction. He cannot be
disqualified”. Agomoh also said: “The issue of 30 days resignation
before election does not apply in this case,” saying the applicant’s
claim that Fayemi was an official of the APC and a public servant could
not be proved. According to the judge, Fayemi, as a minister of the
federation was not a public servant but a political office holder and an
appointee of the President, hence the 30 days resignation stipulation
did not apply. Counsel to Oni in his response, said, “We are going to
study this judgment to determine the next cause of action”.
