A video of Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari threatening APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee NWC of the party, is currently trending online. Although no one knows when the video was shot. The crisis between the governor, Adams Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee, started after the party primaries in the state in October.Recall that the governor's camp and the National Working Committee of the party clashed after both parties accused each other of fraud during the state party primaries. While the NWC accused the governor of attempting to impose his preferred candidate, the governor accused the party members of incompetence in carrying out their duties.Their fracas lingered on until the party failed to meet the deadline set by INEC for the submission of governorship candidate for the 2019 general election. As it stands now, APC has no governorship candidate for the March 2019 election. This has caused a rift between the governor and Oshimole. This video which surfaced online, shows the governor sending a strong message to Oshiomole and members of the National Working Committee. ''If them born your father and mother well, send the committee members to the state again'' the governor could be heard sayingWatch the video where the governor made threats on Oshiomole below      View this post on Instagram         Zamfara state governor, Yari Abdulaziz publicly threatening APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole.A post shared by LIB - Linda Ikeji Blog (@lindaikejiblog) on Nov 30, 2018 at 2:34am PST

Shocking moment a man was bitten on the head by a shark but he survives (video)

The shocking moment a man was bitten on the head by a shark was captured on video and has now been shared online. Will Krause, 29, was spearfishing in the Bahamas on August 20, when a shark swam up and bit his head. The incident was captured by fellow "spear-fisherman" Zach Shipps on his GoPro.Will Krause, of Greenville, recently took to Facebook to share the video after he was fortunate to come out alive. He wrote:3 months ago (Aug 20, 2018), I survived a shark attack to the head while spearfishing in the Abacos.I was 25 feet below the surface when the 6-7 ft Reef Shark struck the back of my head & neck. I miraculously escaped with several stitches, some gnarly scars, & a viral GoPro video. The video shows the shark swim up to Krause and bite him on the back of the head before quickly swimming away.   The horrific moment the shark bit his head Shipp, who saw and filmed the attack, can be heard screaming:Shark! Shark! Shark!Krause, in pain, swims the surface in the video clutching his head and his fellow divers helped him to the boat.  Speaking to NBC News over the weekend, Krause said:I felt a huge impact on my head and my neck.I didn’t process it was a shark bite until I got to the surface.I could see a lot of blood around me.Krause posted the video to YouTube just before Thanksgiving. The next day, he wrote about the shark attack on Facebook:While encounters like this certainly shift your perspective, it doesn’t take a shark attack to recognize God’s generosity & intentionality in our lives. May this Thanksgiving point you NOT just to the reality that you are blessed, but to the One who is giving the blessing.Watch the video below.

Governor Wike reacts after Nigerian Army says it uncovered an illegal militia training camp in Rivers

The Nigerian Army today said it discovered an illegal militia training camp at Nonwa Gbam, (NYSC Orientation Camp) in Tai Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State. A statement released by the Army says troops of Division 6, discovered an illegal militia training camp. The troops met over 100 recruits undergoing military type of training.According to the Army, preliminary investigations into the discovery has commenced in conjunction with sister security agencies in the state to fish out the sponsors of the militia and the training camp. However, in a swift reaction, the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, alleged that the Army was been used by the Federal government to intimidate the state government. According to Governor Wike, the trraining camp the military said it uncovered is actually the camp for the training of itscitizens being recruited into the state vigilante group known as Rivers State Neigbourhood Safety Corps Agency. He stated that the disruption of the training of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency Training programme by the Nigerian Army is the worst act of irresponsibility, aimed at instigating insecurity In the State.Speaking at the flagged off for the construction of a Model Primary Healthcare Centre, Odiokwu Internal Roads, Odiokwu-Anwuigboko and Odiokwu-Oyigbo Roads in Ahoada West local government today, Governor Wike said"The Army is not concerned about the killing of soldiers in Borno. They are only interested in creating insecurity in Rivers State. If you don't want Rivers State to be safe, then Nigeria will not be safe. They want to use their guns against us", he said. The governor said that Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante outfits which were commissioned by the Nigerian Army and the APC Federal Government. He wondered why the Nigerian Army would stoop so low to disrupt a legal training exercise."Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante groups. They commissioned them and the Chief of Army Staff did nothing. The House of Assembly passed a law approving the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency. The Chief of Army did not challenge the law in court, but today he sent troops to invade the training camp", he said. The governor regretted that the Nigerian Army has been turned into an outfit to stoke insecurity in order to attract huge security votes."The Army is the agency causing insecurity mainly to attract more security votes. They collected $1Billion from our excess crude account, yet our soldiers were killed. All they are doing is to intimidate people for political reasons. When you fight a state blessed by God, you will crumble. Nobody can intimidate us in Rivers State ".Governor Wike said that the State Government worked with the Police, the DSS and other Federal Agencies to ensure that only law-abiding citizens are recruited by the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency."We did not hire boys for political reasons. This has been a transparent process and that is why the personnel are trained at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Nonwa. We involved the Police and the DSS to ensure that the trainees are profiled for the good of the society. The main aim of this agency assist the security agencies with intelligence and information, since there is a lacuna in this regard ", he said.Governor Wike declared that the State Government will continue with the training. He said all the antics of the Nigerian Army will not deter the government and people of Rivers State."No one man has been a Chief of Army Staff forever. Every job has an expiry date. When Buratai leaves office, he will be held to account for his illegal actions. If they stop the training elsewhere, personnel of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency will be trained at the Government House Port Harcourt ", the governor said.

15billion fraud: Appeal court reverses Governor Tambuwal's pardon

15billion fraud:Appeal court reverses GovernorTambuwal's pardonA five-man panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto and presided over by Justice Hannatu Sankey has, in two separate appeals, voided the state pardon granted to some former officials of the state who were prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC at the Sokoto state High Court. Delivering the lead judgments in the two appeals filed by the EFCC against Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi (former SSG) and Isa Sadiq Achida, Justice Sankey and Justice Ndukwe-Anyawu both held that the governor's pardon was invalid since the accused persons were still undergoing trial. The judge further held that the accused person who had not been convicted was presumed innocent and therefore could be validly granted state pardon by the governor. Consequently, the Court set aside the instrument of pardon as well as the discharge of the accused persons by the trial court. The appeal court further ordered that the two accused persons be tried by another judge of the State High Court other than Justice Bello Abbass who handled the initial trial. It would be recalled that the accused persons were being tried alongside former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, over a N15billion fraud. A Sokoto State High Court presided over by Honourable Justice Bello Abbas delivered a ruling which discharged them alongside three others, Alhaji Tukur Alkali, Bello Isah and one Alhaji Halilu Modachi. Their discharge was sequel to a motion filed by the accused persons seeking to be discharged from further criminal proceedings based on a pardon granted to them by the Sokoto State Governor. Dissatisfied with the ruling of the lower court, the EFCC approached the court of appealsitting in Sokoto praying that the ruling of the lower court be set aside.

It is idiotic to say Buhari is cloned'' Minister of Information Lai Mohammed says

''It is idiotic to say Buhari is cloned'' Minister of Information- Lai Mohammed saysMinister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said it is “idiotic”  to believe or peddle the rumor that President Buhari is cloned. Since his return from his UK medical trip, there have been rumors that the person in Aso Rock at the moment is a cloned President Buhari whose real name is Jubril from Sudan.Reacting to the rumors, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, in an interview with journalists in Abuja yesterday Thursday November 29th, said“It is idiotic to say the President is cloned. I don’t see any serious government responding to that. So, the same Jibrin  that was cloned from Sudan or Chad is in Chad now? Isn’t that stupid? They even said he is from Chad. Yet, the same President is in Chad as we speak. The same Jibrin is remembering what the President did while in Petroleum Trust Fund and he is also remembering what he did when he was Head of State between 1983 and 1985.“All the ministers do not know who is before them when they attend the Federal Executive Council meeting? The President remembers the  memos he had seen or heard about in 1985 and we say he is cloned. So, Jibrin from Chad or Sudan will now remember all of these? It is too silly for the government to respond to this.  It must be ignored.”

Generator fumes kill police sergeant and her two children in Osogbo

A police sergeant, her daughter and grandchild, have died as a result of generator fumes at their home in Olorisaoko Compound, Osogbo, Osun State. According to reports, the police sergeant identified as Mary Samuel and her kids were found dead in the early hours of yesterday November 29th. The deceased kept a generator in her kitchen. She was found dead with a torch in her hand when security men gained access to her apartment. It is believed that she must have slumped while heading towards the direction of the kitchen, where a generator was kept. Thankfully, her eldest daughter, Jumoke, who was in the apartment as well, was revived at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, before she was transferred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife for further treatment.A neighbour of the deceased said“Someone from the next flat to hers had gone to Mrs Samuel’s apartment to ask for money for electricity. But when she got to the door, it was locked and the cry of one of her grandchildren could be heard. The person that went there became worried that no one was attending to the crying baby and she alerted others in the neighbourhood. The entrance door to the apartment was later broken and people went in.“Samuel was found almost naked and she was confirmed dead at LAUTECH. Two others were dead too. But Jumoke, the eldest daughter of the deceased, who came around with her two children last weekend, was revived at LAUTECH and has been rushed to the OAUTH, Ile-Ife. The only person not affected by the fumes was a four-month-old granddaughter of the deceased. She was taken away by neighbours as the corpses of the others were being evacuated.”There remains have been deposited in the morgue.

American writer, Nora Roberts responds to accusations of plagiarism by Nigerian writer, Tomi Adeyemi and its epic

American writer, Nora Roberts responds to accusations of plagiarismby Nigerian writer, Tomi Adeyemi and its epicA few days back, Nigerian author Tomi Adeyemi called out American writer, Nora Roberts accusing her of stealing her book title. 'it would be nice if an artist could create something special without another artist trying to shamelessly profit off it' went viral and certainly got the attention of the international community'. Adeyrmi wrote on Twitter  Nora Roberts reached out to her, explained things and Tomi was forced to make a partial retaction saying, 'Nora was kind enough to reach out & explain that today was the first she’d heard of my book. After talking to her, I believe our titles were created in isolation. I’m grateful she explained & I’ve apologized, but I wanted to address it here as I know others were upset too'. Nora has now taken out time to react in a lenghty and epic manner to the false accusations and social media can't get enough of it. Read her response below.... I’m not on Twitter. I’ve said before and will say again, I’d rather be poked in the eye with a burning stick than tweet. I’m only on Instagram and Facebook because the amazing Laura runs the show.I write. I spend my days working, my evenings either working or with my family. Or zoned in front of the TV, basically brain dead.I don’t spend much time on social media. I recognize its power, I appreciate its ability to connect writers with readers. And I also understand how easily it can be weaponized to incite flame wars. So I’m very careful with my use of it–and Laura is even more so.I write. It’s what I do. What I love and what I’ve spent three decades learning how to do well. Or as well as I possibly can.But there are a lot of authors who spend a great deal of time on social media. Some are absolute geniuses with the tools, and use them beautifully.Others. Not so much.I don’t believe, and have never believed in taking personal issues onto public forums. I don’t believe, and have never believed–will never believe–in a writer attacking another writing on a public forum. It’s unprofessional, it’s tacky and the results are, always, just always, ugly.Recently another writer used her social media forums to baselessly, recklessly accuse me of stealing the title of her book–which is bullshit right off–to attempt to profit from this theft. She had no facts, just her emotions, and threw this out there for her followers.First, let’s address the particular title which happens to be similar. I titled this particular book, wrote this book, turned this book into my publisher nearly a year before her book–a first novel–was published. So unless I conquered the time/space continuum, my book was actually titled before hers. Regardless, you can’t copyright a title. And titles, like broad ideas, just float around in the creative clouds. It’s what’s inside that counts. It’s just a title.By accusing me, in public, of attempting to ‘shamelessly profit’ off of her creativity, she incited her readers into attacking me–on her feed, then on my pages, then on the internet in general. She did nothing to stop this. I have been accused of theft, of trying to use this first time writer–whose book has been well received–for my own profit. To ride her coattails as I have no originality. This after more than thirty years in the business, more than two hundred books.I was accused of plagiarism–for a title–of stealing her ideas–though I had never heard of her book before this firestorm, have never read her book. And trust me, I never will now. This is what happens when a reckless statement is made on social media. It becomes a monstrous lie that spreads and grows and escalates.I don’t know this woman; she doesn’t know me. She lit the match, foolishly. Perhaps being young and new and so recently successful she doesn’t fully understand the relationship between a writer and her readers, or the power of an ugly insinuation posted on Twitter. But, God, you should know how tools work before you use them.We should all take a lesson here. Think, then think again, before you post. Be sure of your facts before you take a shot at someone. Be prepared for the vicious fallout once you do.Could you have dug a little deeper to check facts? Could you have contacted the person in question and had a conversation? In this case–writer to writer–could you have spoken to your publisher, your agent, about the fact that a title can’t be stolen in the first place?Could you have, perhaps, checked the timeline? If your book came out a few months before the other book (and if you know SQUAT about publishing) you’d certainly realize it was written, titled and in production when yours hit the stands. So how could a damn title be ‘stolen’?To be accused of plagiarism by some faceless reader on the internet, one who felt entitled to spread that lie gutted me. I’ve been plagiarized, and will always have an open wound from the blow. To me, plagiarism is the most terrible sin a writer can commit.I have worked my entire career to build a foundation of professionalism, of teamwork with my publisher, to create a community with other writers, and to show readers I value them–not just with communication, but by doing my best to give them good books. No one who knows me would believe any of these accusations. But that’s the problem. Those making them don’t know me, they simply lash out because they can. This foolish and false statement has damaged my reputation. Vicious and ugly accusations and names have been tossed at me when I did nothing but write and title a book. While this writer issued a kind of retraction after I reached out to her, it didn’t stop some of her readers from calling me a liar, and worse. We reached out again, asking her to put out the fire. We’ve had no response, not from her, not from her agent.Shame on them.I had every intention of letting this go, until the flames kept burning, until the attacks kept coming. And nothing was done by the person who lit the match to stop it.I don’t like taking my issues public. But I will stand up for myself. I will defend my integrity and my reputation and my work.I’m appalled by this, sickened by it. I’m disgusted that people who don’t know me would feel free to say vicious things about me. I know very well the anonymity of the internet can foster such nastiness, but it still disgusts me.Words have great power–to harm, to heal, to teach, to entertain. A writer, one who wants to forge a career with words, should understand that. And use them, as well as the tools at her disposal, wisely.I’ve very deliberately not mentioned the name of the writer who started this, or the title of her book or mine. I don’t want this to escalate any more than it has. I don’t want my readers to go on the attack. It’s not cool. I simply want to set the record straight.I’m Nora Roberts. I’m a hard-working writer, and an honest one. That’s it.

Granting Atiku visa now would imply you have endorsed him- FG tells US government

The Federal government has asked the United States government to think carefully before granting the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, a visa in order create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election.Atiku who has been accused of corruption and investigated by the United States government, has reportedly been barred from entering the US for many years. Recall that the Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Orgsanisation (APCO), Gbenga Daniel, in a recent interview, said Atiku has received signal from the US government to apply for visa which would be granted. Read here.Reacting to this developmet, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, at a press briefing in Abuja yesterday November 29th, said although the U.S. has the prerogative of whom to issue visa, it should be mindful of the timing, in order not to give the impression that Atiku has been endorsed by the U.S. government.“We understand and appreciate the fact that it is the prerogative of the U.S. to grant a visa to anyone who applies. However, we want the U.S. to be neutral and be wary of taking any decision that will give the impression that they are favouring or endorsing one candidate over the other. Impression must not be created that the U.S. government is endorsing one particular candidate over the other.I am sure you will all recall the Jefferson’s case and the cold 90,000 U.S. dollar in fridge.  We are not unaware that Atiku has engaged the services of some lobbyists to persuade the U.S. to issue (a) visa to him. Our position is that if the former vice president is seeking the U.S. visa we have no problem about it.However, we want the U.S. government not to create the impression that it is endorsing one candidate over the other,’’ he said.
