Kogi Judiciary/Executive face-off: Genuine civil servants are being forced to boycott their own salaries – Gov. Bello

yahaya-bello1.jpgyahaya-bello1.jpgyahaya-bello1.jpgKogi Judiciary/Executive face-off: Genuine civil servants are being forced to boycott their own salaries – Gov. Bello
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has finally opened up on the ongoing face-off between the executive and the judiciary in the state.
Bello, while addressing lawmakers in the Kogi State House of Assembly during his budget presentation on Monday, said the needless injury and suffering of civil servant who work in the judiciary was foisted by the Judiciary arm.
The governor recall that, the Judiciary refused to participate in the government Pay Parade cum table payment, citing notions of independence and autonomy.
According to him, the genuine civil servants in the judiciary were being forced to boycott their own salaries and pensions while the money for their several months sits in the bank.
“Members may wish to recall that following collective agreement signed with organized labour on the disbursement of the last tranche of Paris Refunds, we embarked on pay parade cum table payment as the most transparent methodology for making sure that money reaches only genuine and actual civil servants in the form of salaries and pension.
“The Judiciary refused to participate citing notions of independence and autonomy, which are at best dodgy in law and at worst extremely legalistic and were supported by the Judiciary service union of Nigeria which has proceeded on an indefinite strike.
“The efforts of this house to broker a middle ground was stopped in its tracks by an ex parte injunction curiously obtained while the court strike were on strike, and at a time when no one else could transact any business in the various court registries because of the strike.
“I pray Mr. Speaker and the honourable house to take notice of this of these curious events, to ask the right questions, especially why the payrolls of the Kogi State Judiciary seem to be a document for the eyes of only some senior initiates alone”.
He urged the house to quickly resolve the impasse between the executive and judiciary so that, genuine civil servants who worked hard for their money can do the needful to receive it.

‘Romeo And Juliet’ – Heartbroken Lady Commits Suicide Hours After Her Lover Was Killed.

Capture-1-326.png
The “distraught” girlfriend of a man killed by a Domino’s delivery driver has taken her own life. Alice Robinson “could not bear to live without her beloved Jase”, her mum said.
She was found dead in non-suspicious circumstances in Mount Hawthorn, Perth, Australia, less than 24 hours after her boyfriend succumbed to his injuries.
The young couple had been together for eight years and moved from Shropshire, England, under a year ago.
Rugby player Jason Francis, 29, was believed to have been lying on the road by his house after a day of drinking with friends when he was hit at about 8pm on Saturday.
Alice was reportedly waiting for him to come home just metres away. After seeing flashing lights from the emergency services vehicles, she rushed outside and police told her Jason had been run over.
Jason had reportedly been hit by an 18-year-old delivery driver in a white Volkswagen Jetta. The teen reportedly stopped at the scene and called the emergency services. Jason was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries with Alice at his side.
Friends then made repeated attempts to contact her and became worried when she failed to answer her phone.
Less than 24 hours later, she was found dead in a nearby suburb.
Alice’s mother Dawn took to social media to pay tribute to her daughter.
She wrote: “I am devastated to let everyone know that my beautiful daughter was so distraught she could not bear to live without her beloved Jase and chose to take her own life. “My husband and I now grieve for the loss of two wonderful people that brought light to everyone’s life. “RIP my gorgeous girlie.”

Christmas : Let’s keep hope alive, PDP urges Nigerians

Christmas---Let---s-keep-hope-alive--PDP-urges-Nigerians329783304625021058.jpg
By Dirisu Yakubu
ABUJA- The PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, PPCO, Monday urged Nigerians to use the occasion of this year’s Christmas to offer prayers for the well-being of the nation and focus on their collective resolve birth a country where justice, unity and progress will prevail.
The campaign organization noted that the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour, signifies the triumph of light over darkness and offers Nigerians the new hope and spiritual impetus in their shared quest for a brighter future for our nation under a new administration.
In special message issued by the PPCO’s Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, the campaign council urged Nigerians to look into the future with optimism, adding that the 2018 Christmas would turn out the last they will be marking with President Muhammadu Buhari in the seat of power.
The message read in part: “This year’s Christmas celebration is unique, in that it marks the last under an oppressive and insensitive administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress, APC, which relish in inflicting hunger, suffering and pains on the people.
“The PPCO laments the ugly situation in which Nigerians cannot celebrate a wholesome Christmas as they use to do prior to the emergence of the Buhari presidency in 2015.
“PPCO however charges Nigerians not to despair as the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, whom they have resolved to elect as their new President, has already perfected templates to revamp our economy and ease suffering in our nation.
“The Atiku Abubakar policy document shows his commitment to entrench greater participation of our citizens in economic activities in various sectors, as against the Buhari exclusionist system, where our collective patrimony is only accessed by a cabal in the Presidency and corrupt APC leaders.
“In the same vein, the Atiku Abubakar policy document shows practical intervention in infrastructure and policy drive, in such a manner that guarantees rapid inflow of investments, which will in turn, revamp our ailing productive sectors, create jobs, boost the value of the naira and increase the purchasing power of Nigerians from this abysmally low level under President Buhari, to one of the most competitive in the world.”
The campaign council further assured Nigerians of a new era that would see to the end of ethnicism, injustice and all forms of fault lines working against the nation’s growth aspiration.
“Atiku Abubakar offers a new era of justice, equity, inclusiveness and respect for our national diversities as against the injustice, nepotism, disdain for the rights of citizens and corrupt body language with which the Buhari Presidency fouled our system, brought hardship, escalation of violence and bloodletting in our country.

Ogboru should stop deceiving Deltans – PDP Campaign Organization

Ogboru-should-stop-deceiving-Deltans-----PDP-Campaign-Organization501672132974589846.jpg
By Perez Brisibe

UGHELLI – THE campaign organization of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State has asked the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, Chief Great Ogboru to “stop deceiving Deltans” describing him as a “serial contestant.”

•Ogboru
The publicity secretary of the organization, Dr. Timi Tonye made the statement Monday while reacting to comments by the APC that it would ensure autonomy for local government councils in the state when it takes over power in 2019.

Dr. Tonye who is also the member representing Patani constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, DTHA, said: “Ogboru who is a serial contestant in the state since 2003, should stop deceiving Deltans by offering them what appears to be a jaundiced and virus filled Christmas gift.”

He said: “Autonomy for local government councils is a constitutional issue and it is one of the items that are being dealt with by the constitution amendment in the country because no state or government can unilaterally say they want to grant autonomy to local councils without amending the constitution.

“The claims by the party are an example of political deceit and unnecessary grandstanding. In this circle of election, people should not engage in half lies and propaganda in an attempt to garner votes for themselves, but to present issues that are workable within the purview of their constitutional responsibilities.

“Deltans are wiser than to be deceived by this kind of promises and Ogboru should begin to raise issues within the purview of what governors can do and Deltans should not be deceived by this kind of utterances.”

Buhari’s 2018 Christmas message

DueMKHUWsAA2Hm_-487x274.jpg
[FILE] Nigerian president Muhammadu BuhariI felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
Like I have done in the last three Christmas messages to my fellow compatriots as a serving President, I believe this season is another opportunity to reflect on the imagery of the humble, symbolic and divine birth of a young child thousands of years ago in Bethlehem, Judea, and the message of hope, compassion, salvation, reconciliation, forgiveness and peace that Jesus Christ embodies and conveys.
In 2018, Nigerians have had mixed blessings, typical of human beings.
On the pleasant side, our economy has made significant progress since coming out from recession and our faithful implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.
Agricultural revolution has seen a vastly improved local production to the detriment of importation, while we have achieved surplus in our trade balance. Similarly, infrastructural deficit has been greatly reduced with significant improvements in roads, railways, aviation and power.
In addition, we have not relented in the fight against corruption while the business environment has been improved through institutional reforms.
On the downside, we have seen so many unnecessary deaths caused by violent clashes between neighbours, who ordinarily should complement and support one another.
We cannot bring back the lives lost to floods, unfortunate fire disasters, road accidents, farmers/herders clashes and insurgency.
But we can put back smiles on the faces of the grieving, the displaced and the troubled, if we show a little love and recommit ourselves to building relationships with those outside our ethnic, religious and socio-political divides.
As we celebrate Christmas, exchange gifts, pray and visit loved ones, let us remember many others who cannot be with their families this time.
Our brave Armed Forces, and other security men and women who make incredible sacrifices to keep us safe, the aged, the sick, physically challenged persons, all deserve our goodwill in this season of love and sharing.
Together we can show generosity to our neighbours and demonstrate the diversity that makes Nigeria unique – a land with a beautiful climate and vegetation, beaming with an energetic and creative youth population.
We must not also forget that what lies ahead of us as a nation is better than whatever we must have experienced in the past.
With general elections around the corner and heightened political activities across the country, I have charged our security and law enforcement agencies to secure the sanctity of the ballot box and ensure that the outcome of the polls reflects the will of the Nigerian people.
My avowed commitment to free, fair, credible and violence-free polls is not a ruse or yet another vain political promise. My word is my bond.
It is a sworn declaration on the advancement of Nigeria, the future and safety of our young and unborn generations.
Let us tell the world that, indeed, ‘‘something good’’ can come out from Nigeria. And it will happen, as we all team up to make it happen.
Merry Christmas!

EPL--Nemanja-Matic-reveals-who-caused-Jose-Mourinho---s-sack-from-Man-United55133237410172178.jpg
Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic has blamed his fellow team-mates for the sack of manager, Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was dismissed by United last week Tuesday following the club’s poor form this season.
The Portuguese gaffer was replaced by former Red Devils player, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But reacting to the sack of Mourinho, Matic stated that United players were responsible.
Asked whether his team-mates should take responsibility for Jose Mourinho’s sack, Matic was quoted by FourFourTwo as saying: “Of course.
“I said this also after the Liverpool game, that we have to take responsibility and do our best to play better and to win games.
“I don’t know [what changed at Cardiff]. This is the question no-one has an answer to but we are sure this is the way to continue, to fight and we will try to do it.
“This is football. In football this happens. We know also it’s not only the manager’s fault when the results are not good.
“But this is football and we have to carry on, to fight for the club.”
Man United will face Huddersfield Town on Wednesday in the Premier League fixture.

ASUU Strike: We May Not Honour FG’s Call Again – ASUU

What-PMB--Oshiomhole-should-do-to-help-Taraba-APC553994718218789316.jpg
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it may not honour further calls by Federal Government for a meeting on the way forward over the current strike by its members.
The union’s National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said this on the sideline of a news conference on the update of the union’s struggle to salvage the country’s public universities from deterioration on Sunday in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the members of the union, under the aegis of ASUU, had on Nov. 4, embarked on what it had described as a ‘total, comprehensive and indefinite strike’.
Members of the union were protesting the non implementation of agreements entered into with the federal government in 2009 and 2017, as well as funding and improved welfare for members, among other issues.
According to Ogunyemi, to ensure that the agreements were implemented, union had held series of consultative meetings with the government and written series of letters with little or nothing to the effect.
He noted that it was against this backdrop that union resumed strike on Nov. 4. “Since the commencement of this strike, we have had six meetings with agents of the Federal Government, with no clear commitment from government to resolving the issues we presented. “Government appears to have adopted ‘keep them talking’ strategy while deceiving the public that progress was being made and that partial agreements had been reached between union and government.
“We want to say that government has continually and falsely raised the hopes of the Nigerian public on the state of duscussion with our union and we may not be interested in holding further dialogue with them until we see signs of commitment and sincerity in addressing the issues before them.
“Our expectation from a very responsive and sincere position is that by now, all outstanding issues would gave been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.
“Unfortunately, government is yet to show commitment and sincerity in addressing these problems,” he said. According to the don, on the renegotiation of federal government/ASUU agreeement, there are still unresolved issues about the leadership of the government team. “We have strong reasons to believe that the continuation of Dr Wale Babalakin as the head of the renegotiation with ASUU will not yield good fruit,” he said

Solskjaer’s Champions League clause at Manchester United revealed

EPL--Solskjaer---s-Champions-League-clause-at-Manchester-United-revealed752019375636991874.jpg
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be handed a £2million bonus, if he can lead Manchester United into the top four and secure Champions League qualification.
United were 11 points off fourth spot, when Solskjaer was named interim manager following Jose Mourinho’s sacking last week.
But a 5-1 thrashing of Cardiff City, coupled with Chelsea’s surprise home defeat to Leicester, has already reduced the gap down to eight points.
United executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, is desperate to see the club secure a top-four finish this season.
Missing out on the Champions League would be unthinkable for United and cost them more than £40m in lost revenue, prize money and sponsorship clauses.
