WAEC Certificate: Buhari in trouble as INEC releases names of presidential candidates

Hours ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released its provincial list of candidates for presidential and national assembly elections and the likes of President Muhammadu Buhari (APC), Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Obadiahia of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Donald Duke of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Olusegun Mimiko of Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) among others were on the list of presidential candidates.

submit his credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as the various presidential candidates’ credentials were made available to reporters in Abuja on Thursday.
Buhari only submitted an affidavit which read, “I am the above-named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”
Of course, the action has sparked different reactions from Nigerians on Social media questioning why Buhari could not get his original WAEC certificate from Military.
Here are some reactions on social media:
@Yemifash ” Buhari did not tender any academic record to become President, INEC conspired with APC to install a WAEC-LESS President. The whole world must see this, don’t stop retweeting. ”

@Dun1214 ” This guy, Is he not the c-in-c now. So he cannot order them to produce it?
@RealAliyuyusuf “Leadership has nothing to do with certificate. Let’s no use this as a means of a campaign, that would be too cheap. Its high time we come together to make Nigeria work again.”
@Pearlss “How do u expect him to give what is not in existence? Simple !he does not have it.He commands all commandables in Nigeria and can’t get hold of his WAEC papers? Vital one at that? Please!!!
@Okpakolaw “It surprises me how INEC had always qualified him for elections on affidavit alone. Where are the Certified True Copies! I hope that INEC will be bold enough to request for CTC and not rely on self-recognition.”
@Dominic_ugo “WAEC certificate is not important. Have you not heard that Buhari recently bagged a Masters degree in Strategic Lifelessness from University of “white house, his Thesis titled how to destroy Nigeria economy was personally supervised by Donald Trump.”
@ShettimaNIS “Leadership has nothing to do with academic excellence, gentleman next time be more objective, he is the savior Nigeria ever had, May God save your people from you.”
@Abatanbabtundde “My father was a retired Major though late now but if u ask me of any of his certificates, within 2hrs I will produce all the original certificates. My father served the same Nigeria Army that clueless Buhari served.”
@Edmundobiri “It is very obvious that some are actually fully above the law.To get a normal desk job in this country, if you don’t produce your WAEC result, you can forget about it. But a whole “president” cannot even give us his own.”
@brave_miracle “INEC should stop him from contesting if they truly know their job.”
@Ojebutudollar “Yet he wants to prosecute Ademola Adeleke who tendered his despite that he didn’t pass his papers. Buharists only forge theirs, They are certificate forgers and have nothing to tender. What a scammer Government and President!

EFCC boosts the Nigerian treasury as judge orders the final forfeiture of unclaimed N1.37billion to the FG

EFCC boosts the Nigerian treasury as judge orders the final forfeiture of unclaimed N1.37billion to the FGThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has boosted the Federal treasury with the sum of N1.37 billion, which no one stepped out to claim since August.   Justice A. Obiozor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the money, which was made up of N1,260,000,000, $327,132.35, £167.85 and €157.90. The money which was kept at Heritage Bank Plc under the name of Secure Electronics Technology Limited, was seized by the EFCC, following an intelligence report from a whistleblower.   The company in whose possession the funds were found did not lay claim to them and it surrendered them for forfeiture. In an affidavit in support of the application, the applicant stated that “Heritage Bank did not provide any legitimate explanation for the above transactions (involving the sums) and consequently returned the said money through 16 separate bank drafts issued in favour of the EFCC Recovered Funds Account.”   Justice Obiozor, in his ruling on August 15 , 2018, had ordered the interim forfeiture of the monies, which were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities, to the Federal Government. In line with the court order of August 15, 2018, the EFCC had published the interim forfeiture order in the Nation newspaper of August 21,2018 for the correspondents or anyone interested in the money to show cause why the funds should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. At the hearing on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, the applicant, through its counsel, Ekene Iheanacho, said the respondent had not shown up to lay claim to the money, despite being served with the earlier interim order of forfeiture, motion for final forfeiture and hearing notices on the action.   He , therefore, urged the Judge to order the funds to be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.  In his ruling, Justice Obiozor held that ” the applicant has proved on the balance of probabilities that the funds recovered from the respondents by the applicant were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.”  The Judge, therefore, ordered that the various sums of money be permanently forfeited to the Federal GovernmentThe post EFCC boosts the Nigerian treasury as judge orders the final forfeiture of unclaimed N1.37billion to the FG appeared first on emiratco Blog.

Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje sues Daily Nigerian for N3billion over alleged bribe video

Kano State governor, Umar?Ganduje sues Daily Nigerian for N3billion over alleged bribe video
Kano state Governor, Umar Ganduje has sued an online platform, Daily Nigerian and its publisher, Jafaar Jafaar, for defamation and he's claiming N3billion in damages.

Counsel to Ganduje, Nuradeen A. Ayagi in a writ of summons tendered before the High Court demanded the defendants to file an appearance before 14 days, the writ was dated November 13th.

A few weeks ago, Daily Nigerian published stories and videos alleging that the Kano state Governor Ganduje collected $5 Million as kickback from contractors. Nuradeen asked the court to declare that the act of publishing and circulating libellous statements, false and doctored video clips attacking and impugning the character and integrity of the plaintiff amounts to defamation of character of the plaintiff by the defendants and thus wrongful.”

He also asked for order perpetually restraining the defendants, their agents and all persons and entities to whom they shared their libellous documents/records from further defaming the good standing and character of the plaintiff. The suit also seeks an order compelling the defendants to write a public apology to the plaintiff and broadcast such apology through their online platforms and news media with global accessibility.”  Daily Nigerian in a report on its website quoted its publisher, Jaafar as saying that its lawyers would study the court papers and respond appropriately.

It said its sting operation to capture the governor on camera began two years ago when one of the contractors agreed with DAILY NIGERIAN request to plant spy camera on his kaftan lapel while offering the bribe.  “During about 10 months efforts to capture the bribe giving/taking scenes, the governor’s face and body were clearly captured in nine clips, while six others did not clearly reveal the governor’s face.  “About $5m dollars were delivered to the governor during the sting operation”, it reported.

No going back on N30,000 minimum wage- NLC insists
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed not to go back on the already negotiated new minimum wage of N30,000. The labour unions position came after the Nigerian Governors Forum stated that paying 30,000 naira is not feasible in the face of the current economic situation.
The NLC in a statement said
“We hereby reiterate our directive to Nigerian workers to vote out any politician or political party that refuses to pay the new national minimum wage of N30,000 naira. We shall continue to consolidate our efforts to strengthen the existing platforms and structures to give teeth to our resolve to vote out anti-labour governors and politicians in the forthcoming 2019 general elections’’
The NLC also warned President Buhari to be wary of some governors who are bent on portraying him as an anti-worker President for selfish reasons. The union has however vowed to resist any state government that would attempt to frustrate the union’s efforts in putting smiles on the faces of the Nigerian workers.
“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to speedily present to the National Assembly the bill on the National Minimum Wage for appropriate amendment and implementation” the statement read

Former APC spokesman, Timi Frank threatens to publish names of politicians who 'bribed' Adams Oshiomhole

Former APC spokesman, Timi Frank threatens to publish names of politicians who 'bribed' Adams OshiomholeTimi Frank, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has threatened to publish names and amounts paid to Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman during the party primaries.   He also claimed that Oshiomhole collected over $50million from different aspirants and candidates. According to Frank, a large percentage of the money was paid to Oshiomhloe through proxies from Imo, Zamfara, Adamawa, Ogun states, among others. An exclusive report by SaharaReporters on Thursday revealed that the Department of State Services (DSS) has written to President Buhari, asking him to prosecute Oshiomhole for allegedly receiving at least $55million in relation to the nationwide primaries of the party. However, in a statement signed in Abuja on Thursday, the former APC spokesman threatened to "publish the names and amounts paid to lobby the national chairman to clear aspirants and substitute the names of duly elected candidates with those that failed".   "I dare say that this singular act of refusing to order the prosecution of Oshiomhole over sundry acts of bribery and corruption he committed as contained in the DSS report, President Buhari has shown that his APC-led administration is a stinking house of corruption," he said.   Expressing surprise at Oshiomhole's latest ordeal, he said the former labour leader will go down in history as a party chairman who allegedly received such "humongous bribe within a short period of time in office". Frank, however, called on the president to act on the recommendations of the DSS by ordering "Oshiomhole's sack and prosecution, if his (Buhari) government is actually fighting corruption or opposition".  He continued: "We are in the know that President Muhammadu Buhari has received the DSS report on Adams Oshiomhole and Nigerians are patiently waiting for the action or inaction of his government, because this is an administration that has claimed fighting corruption as an achievement. In the history of party administration in Nigeria, no party chairman has been accused of collecting the jaw-breaking amount of money allegedly collected within a short period in office like Comrade Oshiomhole has allegedly done.Instead of Oshiomhole to clear his name, he has taken to diversionary path asking the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki to resign. Nigerians are not gullible. We shall wait to see how the acclaimed anti-corruption regime will act on this particular issue. This same Oshiomhole has been attacking the Senate President, calling on him to resign on moral ground. Can Oshiomhole now step aside while investigation into his financial malfeasance is ongoing to justify his much talked about morality?"The post Former APC spokesman, Timi Frank threatens to publish names of politicians who 'bribed' Adams Oshiomhole appeared first on EMIRATCO Blog.

Atiku Slams Buhari Over Inability Of National Bureau of Statistics To Release Nigeria’s Unemployment Figures

Former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate for 2019, Atiku Abubakar has said Nigerians deserve to know the truth about unemployment figures in Nigeria.
The position of Atiku was made known in a statement released and made available to
This comes in reaction to a statement by the Statistician General of the Federation, Mr. Yemi Kale, who explained to Nigerians why the National Bureau of Statistics has not been able to publish unemployment reports in the country.
“The Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation notes with dismay the testimony of the Statistician General of the Federation, Mr. Yemi Kale, that the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, is unable to release the annual unemployment report that it is mandated by law to produce, because the Buhari administration has not provided the NBS with he funds it needs to perform this essential service,” the statement said.
“Throughout the 16 years that the Peoples Democratic Party governed this nation, their various governments never took this route, but funded the NBS to perform its statutory duty.”
“We know for a fact that the Muhammadu Buhari administration is in a state of panic because of the unprecedented unemployment numbers in Nigeria and is desperate to hide that information from the public.”
“If the Buhari administration can afford ₦1.1 billion to fumigate the office of the National Security Adviser, if they can afford ₦3.5 million every month to feed Ibrahim El Zakzaky, then they can afford to release funds for the NBS to perform its statutory duty of releasing the nation’s job report.
“President Buhari promised to create three million jobs per annum during the 2015 Presidential campaign season, but has ended up losing over three million jobs every year since he was sworn in on May 29, 2015.
The statement also blamed the Buhari led administration for massive job loss by many Nigerians since it took over the leadership of the country.
“Since the Buhari administration came to being, 11 million Nigerians have lost their jobs and in December of 2017, the NBS under Yemi Kale, announced that 7.9 million Nigerians lost their jobs in the 21 months period under review.
“It is safe to draw the conclusion that if the NBS had been funded and able to release the now due 2018 job reports, the total figure of jobs lost under the present administration may climb higher than the present 11 million jobs.“Thus, we can understand why this failed administration is desperate to cover that information up, however, the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation insists that Nigerians deserve to know the truth no matter how unpalatable it may be.

2019: See How APC Reacted To News Of Atiku’s Endorsement By Ndigbo

The purported endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar by some Igbo leaders has been described as an affront on the Igbo nation.
The ruling All Progressives Congress APC said while maintaining that Atiku and his co-travellers in the PDP are shameless for trying to fool Nigerians into believing in them after deceiving them for 16 years of their rule.
National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu said the ruling party remained confident that a discredited party like the PDP would be confined to the dustbin of history by the Igbos.
“The APC considers Atiku and his PDP co-travellers as people who have lost any sense of shame. The purported endorsement of Atiku and PDP by some leaders of the South East for the 2019 general elections is an affront on the Igbo people who were frontline victims of the 16 years of the PDP misrule.“It will be interesting to know what the PDP will be telling the Igbo people during the campaign. The South East people have three and half years of visible progress in terms of massive infrastructure and the thousands of common people who are benefiting from the social investment programmes under APC to compare to the PDP’s 16 years of retrogression. We in APC are confident that the Igbo won’t be fooled by any group, by whatever name, to sell a thoroughly discredited party like the PDP to the very discerning Igbo people”, he said.

politics Produce Names Of APC Members Who Offered Me Bribe Or… – Oshiomhole Challenges Saraki

APC Chairman Replies Saraki For Asking Him To Resign

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to produce the name of any member of the APC who he allegedly took bribe from or face legal action.
Recall that as earlier reported by
“It is equally sad, but not unexpected, that Saraki, who is politically drowning, would make such libelous comments against the national chairman of the APC. And I challenge Saraki to mention one name of an aspirant that gave money to the National Chairman or we file a legal action against him.
“Whereas, the basis on which he made those comments was tenuous and unjustifiable, it is on record that Saraki has been in the eye of investigations by the EFCC and the ICPC for sundry cases of corruption. That is the same man that has taken it upon himself to question Comrade Oshiomhole’s credibility.
“We challenge him to mention one person who has claimed that he gave money to Oshiomhole to influence him and the decision of the party’s national working committee (NWC) in the just-concluded primary elections.‘We insist that Saraki with his kind of prebendal politics is nothing but a monumental disgrace to the nation’s democracy.
there have been allegations that Oshiomhole took bribe from some APC members to in order to influence him and members of the National Working Committee to take decision in their favour before, during and after the party primaries.
Oshiomhole also said that it is pathetic and irresponsible for the resort to what he described as petty politics by the Senate President whom he described as a usurper of and pretender to the position of senate president.
In a statement signed by this Chief Press Secretary, Simon Egbebulem, the APC Chairman said Saraki who has been in the eyes of investigation by the EFCC AND ICPC has no moral ground to call for the resignation of the national chairman.
The statement said further: “it is sad that Saraki, who just woke up from slumber occasioned by his crushing defeat at the Port Harcourt presidential primary election of his party, could degenerate to such a low level.

2019: Why We Support Atiku – Ndigbo

Igbo leaders have explained their decision to support the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi in the 2019 presidential election.
They said they are identifying with Atiku and his deputy because of their promise to restructure the country along geopolitical zones.
Among those present at the event were President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo; chairman of the occasion, Prof Ben Nwabueze, SAN; Senator Ike Nwachukwu; former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, rtd; the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe; wife of the former President of Nigeria, Prof Uche Azikiwe; the chairman of Enugu Council of Traditional Rulers, Igwe Lawrence Agubuzo; business mogul, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu; Admiral Allison Madueke and the former Governor of Enugu State, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo.
Others were Prof Anya O. Anya; Gen Obi Umahi, rtd; Chief Onyema Ugochukwu; the governorship candidate of the PDP in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha; former Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof Osita Ogbu; Chief Uzodinma Okpara; Prof Uzodinma Iwuala; former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Gary Ogariwey; Chief Olisa Agbakoba, SAN; Senator Ben Obi; Chief Emeka Ugwuoju; Chief Venatius Odo; Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa; and Prof George Obiozor; Chief (Mrs) Kate Offor; Chief S. N. Okeke and Prof Walter Ofonagoro, among many other Igbo leaders and PDP heavyweights.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Prof Ben Nwabueze said that although Ndigbo believed in the unity of the country, they wanted to survive as a people first, hence their agitation for survival.
He said Ndigbo would support Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi presidential ticket because they believe that the duo would wipe away the Igbo tears when they come to power in 2019.
Nwabueze who noted that the roll call of the Igbo in the meeting was complete said: “With this kind of assemblage, how can we not achieve our purpose? Success is ours, we are here for our own self survival, we all know that Ndigbo have been reduced in a country. They were in the vanguard of its independence. We must preserve the legacies of Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe and Nwafor Orizu because these are the great leaders of Ndigbo.
“We must survive in this country, we must fight for our own self survival because we became relegated to almost irrelevancy and we must change that. We must organise round a ticket that will help us for self survival and that is the ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. We must not let that opportunity pass us by.
“If it passes us by, then we must be ashamed of hat, we must not allow that. We are here to tell ourselves about the actualisation of that dream. There is nothing wrong with self survival. We are not campaigning for anybody but for self survival. In this Atiku/Obi ticket, it is our determination to mobilize the Igbo in the country to work for it.”
The elder statesman told the gathering to go back to their various villages to preach for the self survival of the Igbo nation.
A communique drawn at the end of the meeting, titled, “Ndigbo 2019 and Beyond Summit,” which was read by Chief Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) stated in part: “The Igbo people of Nigeria held a one day non-partisian and inclusive summit, convened by elders, traditional and religious leaders on November 14 2018, to consider Ndigbo’s place in the polity, especially in the light of the forthcoming 2019 elections.
“We identify with Atiku/ Obi ticket on the restructuring agenda as has been reiterated by the four zones of the country, namely South-South, South west, North central and South east. We believe that as long as the federating units remain weak, the centre will continue to be weak.
We equally move to appreciate the position of the Atiku/Obi ticket in promoting national unity.
“The summit deliberated on the state on Ndigbo in Nigeria today, especially after years of exclusion from the centre. This country has never been so divided as it is today. We, Igbo, have always yearned for a level playing field with justice, equity and fairness.“In conclusion, the summit reiterated that the time is now for Ndigbo to mobilise and organise effectively and realise the Atiku/Obi ticket. We are not campaigning against anybody, we are simply campaigning for our very survival. Igbo votes must count wherever they live in Nigeria.”

Please Don’t Kill Me! – Teargassed Lawmaker Of Anambra State House Of Assembly Cries Out

Security Operatives Take Over Anambra State House Of Assembly

The resumed sitting of the Anambra State House of Assembly  today was not on a pleasant note as policemen blocked the entrance to the premises, while they also sprayed teargas into the atmosphere.
Recall that this will be the house’s first sitting after Naija News reported the Speaker of the House, Rita Maduagwu, was impeached on Tuesday, but she claimed that “They need two-thirds of our members to impeach the Speaker or the governor,” and that since they did not achieve that, “So, I’m still the Speaker.”
Sequel to her purported impeachment on Tuesday, a member of the House, Ikem Uzoezie of AgutaIi Constituency was installed as the new Speaker.
But Maduagwu later addressed the Press and said she remained the Speaker of the House, describing those who impeached her as “rascals.”
Hundreds of security operatives manned the Assembly area from the Alex Ekwueme Square entrance of the complex as from 8am.
Workers of the judiciary and others who had any business in the area were denied entrance.
Trouble began when a lawmaker mobilised some supposed supporters to the House, allegedly to show solidarity for Maduagwu.
Police, however, repelled the protesters with tear gas, causing, the entire environment to be filled with tear gas, while some policemen attempted to to ward off everybody in the area.
A member of the House, Mrs. Beverly Nkemdiche, who was affected by the teargas shouted and screamed on end, “They have killed me! I’m a member of the House. Please, don’t kill me…”
Journalists and other onlookers scampered for safety.

Guinea Bissau President Visits Buhari Ahead Of His Country’s Nov 18 Elections

President Jose Mario Of Guinea Bissau Visits Buhari To Seek Advice Ahead Of Country’s Elections

President Jose Mario Vaz of Guinea Bissau was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, today, where he briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the forthcoming general elections in his country.
NAN reports that legislative elections are expected to be held in Guinea-Bissau in December 2018 or January 2019.
They were scheduled for November 18 following an ECOWAS brokered agreement between President Mário Vaz and the opposition in April, but the electoral census will not be completed until November 20.
Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, President Mario Vaz said it is duty bound on his part to brief President Buhari, who is current chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, on development developments in Guinea Bissau.
Mario Vaz, who spoke in French, said he also used the opportunity to seek for advice from the Nigerian leader, whom he described as his senior brother.
I had the opportunity to brief him about the situation in Guinea Bissau – the ongoing Voters’ registration process going on in Guinea Bissau.
“As you may be aware of and international community may be aware of, Guinea Bissau was scheduled to hold elections on Nov. 18.
“But we have come to the conclusion that it won’t be possible, and that is the reason why I came to see my older brother so that I can seek his advice and brief him about the situation,’’ he said.
President Mario Vaz, therefore, described the outcome of his meeting with President Buhari as very fruitful and he would be going back home very much encouraged.
He pledged to adhere to all the advice given to him by the president, adding that he would also apply fully all the suggestions made during the meeting.
Mario Vaz, who has since left for Guinea Bissau, thanked President Buhari and the Nigerian government for their support and assistance to his country.
EMIRATCO recalls that the federal government recently approved 500,000 dollars electoral kits and number of vehicles to support the conduct of election in Guinea Bissau.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, confirmed this development in October when Jose Filho, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Guinea Bissau, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

Will Otedola still run for Governorship election or is he just messing with us?

Otedola's entry into governorship race is good for Lagosians play No one knows if Otedola was joking when they said he was running (Instagram)

It’s been nearly two months since celebrity journalist Dele Momodu gleefully informed the world that billionaire businessman Femi Otedola is running for the office of Governor of Lagos.

“Breaking news: Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He's accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper”, Momodu informed thousands of his followers on Twitter.
Everyone went to town with the story afterwards. The mainstream media ran editorials on it, blogs and online news sites curated for fun and this writer even chipped in with an opinion piece on what Otedola’s entry into the Lagos governorship race will mean for this city of 20 million people. How ridiculous and foolish I feel now!

It’s interesting that Otedola didn’t say a word in confirmation or denial of the story soon after Momodu fed the press and the general public with it. His silence immediately gave everyone the impression that he was indeed running and was waiting for a good time to make it all formal.
Fast forward several weeks after and Otedola is yet to confirm or deny that he is running. In any case, Momodu told us that Otedola will be running on the PDP platform. But like everyone now knows, the PDP has concluded its governorship primary election, with Jimi Agbaje emerging as its flagbearer.
Is Otedola mulling running on another platform? Has he purchased the governorship nomination form of another political party through a proxy? Why is Otedola keeping quiet if he is really serious about running for office?
This week, Lagos PDP godfather, Bode George, tells us that Otedola actually told him he was running. “Otedola told me himself on a flight in April that he’d be running for Lagos Governor”,  George said.
Femi Otedola has accepted to run for Lagos Governor under PDP – Dele Momodu play Femi Otedola has left everyone guessing (Dailypost)

The one inference we can draw at the moment is that Otedola wasn’t serious about running for governor ab initio. If he considered running, one has got to say he changed his mind just before the primaries—which is totally fine. But why fly the kite when you weren’t serious? Why not tell us you are no longer running rather than keep us hanging?
However, it may be time to question Momodu as well. Anyone who wants to run for the office of governor makes the pronouncement of his intent himself. Why did Momodu declare for Otedola? Who asks a journalist to make a formal declaration on his behalf and why would this journalist put the word out there like he is so certain, when he isn’t? What does all of these say about Momodu’s methods? Recall that it was the same Momodu who arranged this very curious interview with former Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in which she told us she is stricken with cancer

Oshiomhole has no moral ground to continue to be in politics, not to talk of being a party chairman - Bukola Saraki

Oshiomhole has nomoral ground to continue to be in politics, not to talk of being a party chairman - Bukola SarakiSenate President, Bukola Saraki on Wednesday hit out at the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, saying that he has lost all moral rights to remain in politics.   Speaking with journalists in Ilorin during the sixth remembrance prayer for his father, Saraki said Oshiomhole has ‘no locus standi to talk about morality in today’s Nigeria’s politics.“That must be a joke coming from Oshiomhole talking about moral ground. I think Oshiomhole has no locus standi to talk about morality today. Oshiomhole is somebody who has been told to have been collecting not even naira but dollars from candidates and he is being accused by his party’s aspirants and governors.I don’t think he has any moral ground, even to continue to be in politics, not to talk about being a chairman of a party. I remember in those days, even Oyegun, they never accused him of something like this.I have left that party. I’m sure the President, based on integrity, knows the right thing to do. So, on moral ground, he cannot speak.”The post Oshiomhole has nomoral ground to continue to be in politics, not to talk of being a party chairman - Bukola Saraki appeared first on emiratco blog

Lady narrates how she was sexually harassed and extorted by SARS officers and it's really troubling

A lady has narrated a very troubling encounter she had with SARS officers who harassed her in Port Harcourt. Olorogun Mabel Peters said she woke up sick and went to get drugs but by the time she got back to her estate, some armed officer approached her and asked for her papers. When they saw that the papers were complete, they asked for her company ID and she explained she doesn't have it on her at the moment. They immediately accused her of stealing a car and drove her to the station where they then changed their story and claimed that she is one of the criminals they received a call about. They ended up detaining her and seized her phone. She went on to accuse one of the officers of sexual harassment while she was in their custody. She said they eventually asked her to pay N100,00 and drove her to an ATM to withdraw the money. She wrote:@opetodolapo Today is definitely one of my worst days.. I woke up a bit feverish with slight headache so I cancelled my activities for the day, at about 6:30pm I decided to go get drugs, because my condition seemed to be getting serious and also get pizza for my mum just 7mins drive away from my estate..On getting back to my estate, a blue Prado jeep stopped right in front of me and some armed men on uniform came out asking me to park for a search, I obliged, they went through all the vehicle papers and drivers license etc very much complete..The next question I was asked was they needed to see my company Id ,I tried to explain to them I didn't have it on me because I just drove out to get pizza from the next bus stop and they said I was under arrest for stealing a vehicle and I couldn't give them an ID of where I work, I obliged and we drove to their station and the whole story changed..One of the officers made a phone call and he said I was among the criminals they received a call about.. I tried to beg, I even showed proof of the medications I got, they gave me a paper to make a statement,in the process they took my phones from me and started going through my phone, from my chats call logs down to my bank mails etc....After spending 2hrs with them they demanded for a sum of 2million naira as my bail, for a crime I do not know.. This is pure wickedness and evil... I never stole, robbed, violated any rules etc... We finally came to an agreement after keeping me hostage from 6pm till 12am that I should pay them 100,000naira..One of the officers even approached me trying to sexually harass me!! This same men didn't even mind the time they comfortably drove me to an ATM machine so I could make a withdrawal for them... These men are criminals!!I was granted bail by 1:30am after spending 7good hours... Someone's hard earn money This Is totally unacceptable, Are you guys not meant to be protecting lives ? Why will you extort someone of their hard earn sweat!! I thought SARS had ended... We will have to sack some of you to implement N30k minimum wage- Governors tells Labour

The Nigerian Governors Forum last night had a meeting in Abuja to deliberate on the N30, 000 minimum wage being demanded by the Nigeria Labour Congress. After the meeting, the governors stated that the only way they can afford the N30, 000 minimum wage is to downsize the civil service. According to them, they cannot affot to pay that amount with their current meager revenue allocation. Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and  Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, said that a committee will be put together to meet with President Buhari to discuss the need for an increase in state revenue allocations .“Following a meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum where we deliberated on the national minimum wage, governors resolved to re-strategise and put together another committee to meet with the President once again, to work out another formula towards quickly resolving the problem associated with the proposed N30.000 minimum wage which is impracticable unless labour agrees to a downsizing of the workforce all over the country or the Federal Government itself accedes to the review of the national revenue allocation formula. Members of the committee who were nominated to see the President include the governors of Lagos, Kebbi, Plateau, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi. Enugu and Kaduna.” he saidGovernor Yari said that he and his colleagues had seen the report of the Tripartite Committee report presented to President Muhammadu Buhari. The report suggested N30, 000 minimum wage. President Buhari last week received the rpeort and said he will study it and advice the national assembly members accordingly.Yari said that the committee did not consider the submission of the governors who had earlier said they could only afford to pay N22, 500 as minimum wage.“We have seen what has been presented to the President by the (Tripartite) Committee. As a member of the committee, our representative there said the committee did not take our submission of N22,500 because it came late. I am surprised. How can you do this without the input of the states because the states are the key stakeholders in this business. So, a situation whereby our report was not taken or considered by the Tripartite Committee … then I don’t know how the committee wants us to work.” he saidAccording to Governor Yari, the state governors really wnat to pay the N30, 000 but are currently constrained by their meager revenue.''We still say we want to pay,  but the issue is the ability to pay. If we say no, it is not about the ability to pay, just pay, I don’t know how this formulae will work and I don’t know how we can get a solution to the issue. We are paying N18,000 (as minimum wage today), but when the President assumed office, about 27 states were not able to pay, not that they chose not to pay. So, now you say N30,000, how many of them can pay? We will be bankrupt (if we pay). So as Nigerians, we should look at the issues seriously. While other people are saying that governors are riding jets and living in affluence, that one is not luxury but compulsory. Like Lagos that is paying about N7bn as salaries; if you say it should pay N30,000, now it will be N13bn. From our calculation, it is only Lagos State that will be able to pay N30,000. As Nigerians, this is our country; there is no other country we have and we should be fair to this country.”Speaking further, Governor Yari said “As for the way forward, we will continue to talk with Labour. Let them see reasons and difficulties some of us have. For instance, the money Lagos State is using to pay is not coming from Abuja. They have a way of getting their money from the IGR and that is why they can afford to pay. They get money through VAT (as well). Apart from Lagos, even Rivers State cannot afford to pay. So we have been crying out about this since 2011 but no one will listen.“One critical example is that some states ration their salaries while some others put everything they earn on the table and ask labour to come and see  and ask them to suggest how much should go for capital and personnel costs. Some say 70 per cent for personnel cost and 30 per cent for capital projects and yet the states cannot pay and they put the remaining as outstanding.”   The post We will have to sack some of you to implement N30k minimum wage- Governors tells Labour appeared first on emiratco Blog.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo - A Pastor only by name

Read the article by FFK below...No matter how hard he tries to make it look as if it is no big deal and no matter how much he ignores it and tries to brush it under the carpet, the 5.8 billion naira scandal in which the House of Representatives have indicted Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for theft, larceny, diversion, misapplication and misappropiation will not go away.No matter how much he tries to wash himself with his self-righteous soap and brush, the filthy stench of corruption and abuse of office will never leave him.No matter how many open markets he visits in a blaze of publicity and in a desperate attempt to prove that he is a man of the people, the bloated flies that customarily trail filth, garbage, open sewers and rejected goods will continue to follow him and raise fundamental questions about his infantile claim to holiness, infallibility and sainthood. Some have erroneously argued that Osinbajo could not have stolen the 5.8 billion or indulged in any form of wrongdoing because he is a Pastor. They also claim that the grievous, unproven and outrageous allegations that he has made against President Goodluck Jonathan, President Olusegun Obasanjo, the late President Umaru Yar'adua and indeed every single PDP-controlled Federal Government that was in power over the 16 years before our nation was afflicted with the Buhari plague and APC contagion three years ago must also be true, again because he is a Pastor. On both counts this is not only an intellectually lazy cotention but it is also pure hogwash. I say this because Osinbajo is far from being what many think he is. His conduct over the last three years has proved that conclusively. As far as I am concerned he is a Pastor only in name. In my view he is not a Pastor but an eager accomplice, common sidekick and ever-ready man-Friday to the most hated, despised, compromised, dishonest, brutal, divisive, incompetent, cruel and evil dictator that Nigeria has ever known.I say this because no real Pastor would do what he has done over the last three years and neither would any tolerate or participate in the evil that his boss and their government have unleashed on the Nigerian people since they came to power.Pastors see evil for what it is and fight it openly. Failing that they at least shun and condemn it. They certainly do not espouse it, enjoy it, wallow in it, encourage it, support it and thrive in its commission. They do not point fingers at the innocent and accuse them falsely and neither do they eulogise or deify the corrupt. They are not deceitful cowards who have sold their souls to the devil for cheap political gain, filthy lucre and a morsel at the tyrant's table. The truth is that it irritates me to no end when some refer to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a Pastor. It is like referring to Judas Iscariot as a disciple of Jesus Christ or Rasputin as the Pope. The Bible says "thou shall know them by their fruits". It says "the devil presents itself as an angel of light". It speaks of "wolves in sheep's clothing". It talks about "shepherds that feed on the carcasses of their own flock".Osinbajo is a fake Pastor in the same way that Judas was a fake disciple and Rasputin was a fake priest. Like Judas and Rasputin he was secretly planted amongst the disciples and in the Church by satan. When you speak of Pastors you are referring to holy and selfless men who lift up, inspire and encourage others, who are filled with compassion and love, who are called to ministry by the Living God and who are deeply courageous and strong. These are tried and tested men and women who are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and the light of God. These are men and women that are driven by the quest for righteousness, justice and equity and who have no fear of tyrants, bullies or the agents of the devil. These are men and women who despise evil, wickedness and injustice and who support and assist the suffering, the deprived, the weak, the vulnerable, the wounded, the afflicted, the persecuted and the poor. These are men and women that speak truth to power and that give wicked rulers and heartless men of wealth and power sleepless nights. These are men and women that have successfully passed through the furnace of affliction, who have mastered their calling, who are clean-spirited, who are committed to spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ fearlessly and who do not steal, kill, lie, bear false witness, falsely accuse, compromise with evil or seek to destroy their fellow human beings. When we talk about Pastors we are talking about a rare and special breed of people who are committed to   humanity, self-discipline and the work of God and who have chosen to answer the highest and most noble calling. When we talk about Pastors we are talking about men and women llik the late  Bishop Ajayi Crowther, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the late Apostle Ayo Babalola, the late Rev. Timothy Obadare, Bishop David Oyedepo, Prophet T.B. Joshua, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Dr. Paul Enenche, Bishop David Abioye, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Apostle Samson Suleiman, Dr. B.O. Ezekiel, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Archbishop Jasper Akinola, Bishop Emmanuel Gbonigi, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Prophet Emmanuel Kobe, Pastor Rhoda Awiliki, Pastor Solomon Kayode Anjorin, Pastor Bayo Oladeji, Dr. Israel Akonji, Pastor Emmanuel Omata and so many others. When we talk about Pastors we are not talking about hopelessly compromised and morally challenged charlatans and crooked politicians like Osinbanjo who consistently attempt to defend the indefensible, who thrive on perfidy and falsehood, who  tell one hundred lies a day, who indulge in the most outrageous and brazen acts of corruption, who persecute the innocent, who collude with evil and bloodthirsty men, who encourage the perpetuation and commission of barbarity and wickedness, who turn a blind eye when lives are being destroyed, who refuse to raise their voices when innocent blood is being shed, who speak from both sides of their mouths and who encourage mass murder, genocide and ethnic cleansing. When we talk about Pastors we are talking about those that we revere, love and admire and not those that are only Pastor in name. The post Vice President Yemi Osinbajo - A Pastor only by name - by Femi Fani Kayode appeared first on emiratco Blog.

Woman left in coma after botched nose job in Mexico

A Dallas woman is fighting for her life after she went to Mexico for a nose job which wasn't successful. The botched procedure put real estate agent Laura Avila in a coma and her family is desperately trying to get her better medical care. Avila traveled to Ciudad Juarez last month to save money on the plastic surgery, as it's significantly cheaper there. But, according to her lawyer, the anesthesia used on her was administered incorrectly and way too early. The clinic staff allegedly left Avila under anesthesia for hours because the head doctor was running late. As a result, Laura suffered severe brain swelling and went into a coma. Laura was stuck in Mexico for 8 days before her family could finally transfer her to a hospital in El Paso, Texas, where doctors revealed she'd have to be kept alive with breathing tubes and machines, or be taken off life support. The family now wants a second opinion in Dallas but they're having problems getting her admitted to a hospital in Dallas because she lacks insurance. Her family has now created a GoFundMe account to help pay for her treatment. The post Woman left in coma after botched nose job in Mexico appeared first on emiratco Blog.

ASUU STRIKE: STUDENTS HAVE TO STAY LONG AT HOME, AS DSS ARREST STRIKE LEADERS

The government seem not to be ready to negotiate with ASUU and they have even decided to take hard measures against the lecturers.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has detained the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapters of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) and Bauchi State University, Gadau, Dr Adamu Babayo.
The Vice Chairman of the association, Dr Ibrahim Maina, condemned the action at a joint press conference on Sunday in Bauchi.
Maina alleged that Babayo was detained by the DSS operatives on Sunday, when he was invited to the department’s headquarters in Bauchi.
He said: “the ASUU Chairman, Adamu Babayo was invited through a Short Service Message (SMS) which is not a formal way of invitation.
“On Friday he received a text message requesting him to report to the DSS office in Bauchi on Sunday. He went to the office together with some of the executives of the association.
“The DSS operatives requested other members of his entourage to leave and detained him in their office,” he said.
Maina said that the action was a violation of fundamental human rights and queried the DSS to explain the reasons behind the arrest.
“Let them explain to us why he was detained. That will give us the idea of what needs to be done.
“If the detention is in connection with the ongoing strike; it is a nationwide strike embarked on by the universities in the country and not a peculiar or personal problem.
What wrong have we done by pressing for our rights through the strike,” he queried.
Maina maintained that industrial action is the rights of a worker as enshrined in the civil service act, which enable workers to press home their demands.
However, a DSS official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, denied the allegation, insisting that Babayo was not detained but invited to answer some questions.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ASUU had on Nov. 5 embarked on an indefinite strike to press for implementation of the agreement reached with Federal Government in 2017.
It this move a wise one by the government
