Football Leaks claim Real Madrid captain Ramos 'failed a drugs test after 2017 Champions League final but the results were covered up by UEFA'

Football Leaks claim Real Madrid captain Ramos 'failed a drugs test after 2017 Champions League final' but the results were covered up by UEFA.According to the latest batch of Football Leaks reports, Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos failed a drugs test in the aftermath of his team's 2017 Champions League final, which they won 4-1 victory over Juventus.German newspaper Der Spiegel reports that Ramos' urine sample contained traces of dexamethasone, and that the results were covered up by UEFA.The cortisone preparation is on the list kept by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of substances that are prohibited in competition. Administration of dexamethasone prior to a match is permitted, but a team doctor must report its use on doping control forms, but this was missing. The Real Madrid doctor has admitted to giving Ramos two injections of dexamethasone the day before the final in June last year, one in his shoulder and another in his knee.He then noted in his doping report that Ramos had received treatment with another anti-inflammatory drug containing betamethasone, which is also on WADA's list of banned substances in competition.UEFA accepted the doctor's reasoning and claim it was made 'in compliance' with WADA code.Football Leaks claim that when they contacted Real Madrid and Ramos they had no comment to make. The Football Leaks revelations also claim that Ramos' former team-mate Ronaldo 'complained that he was always selected' for testing when UEFA arrived at the club's training ground for random testing in February 2017.Real Madrid accused the UEFA testers of inadequacy, and claimed the anti-doping officer stuck Ronaldo twice with a needle without finding a vein. UEFA, Real Madrid and Ronaldo all withheld comment when asked by Der Spiegel about the incident.

Wana Udobang shares her early struggle with low self-esteem as she advises parents on how to build up their children's confidence

Radio presenter, Wana Udobang has narrated how she suffered low confidence as a result of certain experiences as a child that went on to affect her.She said she was bullied due to her weight and it made her hesitant to take on certain roles because her self-confidence was low. The absence of her parents didn't help either. She said it wasn't until she got to her 30s that she realized that confidence is everything. She went on to advise parents on how to help build their kids' self-worth using her experience. She wrote:The one realisation i had in my 30s was that confidence is everything.I am a late bloomer so bear with me. My two main sources of low confidence growing up were being fat and parental absense. I had grown up with names from obrokoto Nigerian football to Wana Opoto. As you know my people are not very tactful when they say things to children, it isn't news that you grow up believing you need fixing. The thing is you never realise how much these insecurities sip into every area of your life from managing terrible relationships because you don't think you are worth better to not taking opportunities because you see yourself as undeserving. You keep telling yourself that when you have fixed certain things, then you will apply for that gig, go to that hangout, travel, or wear the things you want or even take that full length picture.I remember a boyfriend who broke up with me siting that i was too nice and to be honest he was right because even when i was upset i acted like i wasn't because i didn't want to rock the boat. I also recall refusing to take up the television module whilst at University because i felt no one would ever hire me in front of the camera. It all sounds odd and sad but those are the things that can happen and even worse like abuse, loosing your voice and getting comfortable with being invisible. Then finally complete self erasure.I think that not everyone is lucky enough to come from a place that nurtures confidence and so you just have to find it and fight to keep it. Challenge yourself to keep doing new things however deep, however frivolous, it is a way for you to connect with yourself one inch at a time.PS If you are a parent to a chubby kid, just get them involved in active play from dance to martial arts. If you think they aren't eating the right things, adjust the whole family diet not just theirs. Please don't pass on your insecurities as inheriatance. If you can raise your children to be confident and self reliant, you have done a pretty good job.If you are reading this, supertall, thin, fat, short, darkskinned and everything else inbetween, just know that you do not need fixing.#mirrorselfiechronicles #selflove #meditations

Five Reasons We Are In Love With Kano Right Now

Kano is a  gorgeous place, you have heard all the stories - the splendour of the Tiga Dam; the colours of the Dying Pits; the beauty of the Falgore Game Reserve or the bustle of the Kurmi market. Yes, we have heard all the gist, yet none of the beauties listed above is at the top of things we love about Kano right now? Now you’re wondering, what on earth is it? Okay, let’s give you the gist. Earlier this year, we headed for the ancient city of Ibadan in Oyo State for the pilot phase of MTN Foundation’s ICT and Business Skills Training and then we moved on to Kano on Wednesday, 8th 2018 and Thursday, 9th 2018. Let’s just tell you now,  Kano’s edition took the training another step further. We haven’t stopped thinking about it.  Here are the five reasons we love about the training in Kano and why we are excited for the next one!  1.     Strictly Experts: For two (2) days, experts from the MTN Foundations and its ecosystem partners - KPMG; IBM; DBI (Digital Bridge Institute) and Oracle came together to train youths on the necessary skills in ICT and Business. There was so much to learn and Kano was surely better for it. The participants learnt how to use the right social media skills to increase customers for business and financial accounting. 2.     The Tasks Were Fun: So, at the end of each day, the hall filled with hundreds of students was divided into tables and each recipient was able to sit and think through engaging tasks. Each team picked a leader to present their answers and at the end of the entire session, shouts of victory rung in the air when a group was crowned winner. You needed to have seen the competitive drive in the air. That's one of the things we are excited to see in the next state - people coming together to learn and enjoy every minute of it. Lest I forget, the winner team was also rewarded big time. 3.     It was Free: Yes, participants did not pay a single dime for attending the event. That was very interesting! Each day had a roughly nine-hour-long intensive session and yet there was not a fee to any of the activities. It was all paid for by MTN Foundation. 4.     Our Selfie game was on fleek! Yes, “all work and no play” was not our problem at all. The recipients with the most liked selfie on twitter got a surprise gift! See, using social media to win - we learned fast. Four lucky recipients happily received gifts from the MTN Foundation team. 5.     We had  a Mega Freebie! Okay, you have to keep this a secret - after the wrap up, each day the participants were handed envelopes to help with transportation back home. All recipients! We opened our mouths in shock when we found out. First, we got free training that would last our lives then we got to enjoy a trip back home, all expenses on MTN! We tried to beg the team not to leave, but ehn...like Santa Claus, they had to go improve other lives. You understand the sheer excitement we have for Kano, the possibilities that the young people of the state now have. After the training, the employability level in Kano has increased by the hundreds of participant present. If that isn't a reason to shout ‘whoop!” we really cannot help you...

Photo: Zamfara House of Assembly member sentenced to four years imprisonment over N31m fraud

Zamfara State High Court sitting in Gusau, has sentenced a serving member of the State’s House of Assembly, Lawali Attahiru Dogonkade, to four years imprisonment over an alleged N31 million fraud. Dogonkade who was arraigned today by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a four-count charge bordering on conferring corrupt advantage on himself admitted guilt before Justice Bello Shinkafi, thereby leading to his immediate conviction by the court. The convict, representing Kauran-Namoda Local Government in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, was accused of using his position to confer corrupt advantage upon himself in a N31, 290, 000 contract meant for the supply of medical equipment to the State Government in violation of Sections 10, 12 and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000. Counsel to ICPC, Mashkur Salisu, in one of the counts told the court that the convict received N4.5 million from the Managing Director of Madaci Pharmacy, Mr. Hamisu Saminu Jibril, as percentage for the supply of medical equipment contract awarded by the state government. His counsel, Mr. Abubakar Junaidu, had earlier argued on the propriety of the charge before the court saying that the accused had been charged one time before the Federal High Court in Gusau by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). But the trial judge overruled his argument and shortly after, the convict entered into a guilty plea. Junaidu then pleaded with the court to be lenient with his client considering the fact that he was a first time offender with a large family and dependents who solely rely on him for their livelihood. Following his guilty plea, the Counsel to the Commission invited the court to convict him in line with the provisions of 274 (2) of Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015. The court thereupon convicted the accused person as charged and sentenced him to four years imprisonment or payment of fine of N30, 000 on each of the counts totaling N120, 000.The post Photo.
