Bianca Ojukwu shares beautiful throwback photos as she marks 30 years since winning Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageantBianca Ojukwu, wife of late Biafra leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, shared beautiful photos from 30 years since she won MBGN pageant. Read her post below:   30 YEARS AGO TODAY: BIANCA ONOH WINS ‘ MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA PAGEANT’. 4 DEC. 1988. Thirty years ago this day, 4th Dec. 1988, I ventured in trepidation onto the grand stage of the National Theatre, Lagos, as a contestant in the MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA  PAGEANT by Silverbird Productions. By the grace of God I won the contest. I was then a law undergraduate at the University of Nigeria. The rest, as they say, is history.   Then it was the era of ‘winner takes all’ as pageant winner. From there I took off to Banjul, where the MISS AFRICA  Pageant was held and I once again emerged the Winner. Next was the MISS CHARM Contest in Moscow which saw me emerge as Miss Drushbah. After that was the MISS INTERCONTINENTAL Pageant. I am the  ever African ever to have won this Pageant.  This was an awesome experience which provided a wonderful opportunity to visit over 20 countries of the world in the space of one year of my ‘reign’( a great privilege for a mere student) including 12 European countries  as well as several other world destinations including Singapore, Japan,Russia, Taipei, Dubai, Republic Of China, Hong Kong where I represented Nigeria at the MISS WORLD beauty Pageant and Cancun, Mexico where I was the Country’s representative at the MISS UNIVERSE Pageant. It is to God’s glory that I went this far. Today, as always, I continue to celebrate the amazing opportunities God has thrown along my path in life. This is just one of them.

Maje Ayida denies infecting Toke Makinwa with STIs but admits under oath to being a womanizer & having unprotected sex with various women

Maje Ayida's defamation lawsuit againt Toke Makinwa went before a judge in Lagos today and it is super explosive and messy. Ayida is suing Toke Makinwa over claims made in her book 'On Becoming', that he infected her with Sexually Transmitted Infections while they were married. In today's court session, Toke's lawyer, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria was able to get Maje to admit to having unprotected sex with other women while still married to his client. Maje however stated that all this happened when he and Toke were having fallouts during different stages of their relationships. In the book which became a best seller after it was released, Toke accused Maje of adultery, infecting her with sexually transmitted diseases among other allegations.Maje in his court papers, said that Toke's book brought public ridicule to him and that his reputation has been assaulted, injured and damaged. He also argued that his professional integrity as one of the leading health and wellness practitioners in Nigeria, and his professional credibility built over the years through dedicated hard work was nearly destroyed.Part of Maje's demands was for Toke to "Withdraw from circulation all copies of the book and take immediate steps to call in all copies of the book already distributed. The case was called up for hearing today and an eye witness shared it on Twitter. Photos: Outrage as youths storm market in Gboko, Benue and forcefully shaved young men with 'long' and afro hair

Outrage after youths storm market in Gboko, Benue and forcefully shaved young men with 'long' and afro hair tagging them cultistsJemgbagh youths in Gboko, Benue State on Monday afternoon Dec 3rd, stormed Gboko main market with operation "Say no to cultism" and forcefully cut people's hair. According to the youths, anyone who keeps long hair is a cultist.  Activists in the state have expressed outrage over the 'barbaric' treatment. Ukan Kurugh shared some photos from the scene of the incident. His post below:   "Described as Jemgbagh youths and carrying assorted weapons like cutlasses and clubs, moving in a bus inscribed with Flight Transport limited, some young men today threatened the prevailing peace in Gboko by attacking people keeping hair and forcefully shaving them. They claimed they were out to hunt cultists. This act nearly sent the town into confusion. As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear under whose authority they were acting but many persons expressed worry that, the act was an infringement of peoples fundamental human right to personal liberty and dignity of human person.  ''The young men were said to chase on sight, any person wearing afro styled hair and ensure that such a person was shaved. They are also said to have arrested some persons on allegations of cultism. The question that has remained on the peoples lips is where such authority would have emanated and whether or not, they have a constitutional duty to do what they did.  Further reports have it that, calm has returned after complaints flooded against the act, meanwhile, I wish to call on the Tor Tiv, the Benue State Commissioner of Police and the Gboko LGC chairperson as well as the Governor of Benue State to take the necessary steps to address this show of unconstitutionality. It questions lawfulness to see youths take laws into their hands and infringe on other peoples rights" Another activist, Andy shared his opinion thus: "Because Gboko is a lawless place?Bunch of irresponsible propensityNo Idiot born of a woman can do this to me or any of my relations in the name of "Jemgbagh Youths Say No to Cultism and Indecent Dressing"Is this the only way to put a halt to cultism? What Nonsense!Because Gboko is a lawless place these idiots keep parading on the streets doing nonsense! Is it by keeping hair that one would be termed a cultist? Some of these illiterates doing this maybe because they are HIV positive so perhaps they feel this is the only way they can transfer the disease to innocent people by using their scissors to carry out this evil. This is rubbish i repeat.""This is advanced thuggery and this very molestation of innocent citizens by these bunch of irresponsible Jobless fellows parading under the auspices of Jemgbagh Youths must be totally condemned. We shall stage a protest to this effect right to our father the Tor-Tiv and register our dissatisfaction. This is barbaric and we are bigger than this in Benue." See more photos below...

50-year-old Nigerian man convicted for the rape and sexual assault of 12-year-old girl he befriended online

A 50-year-old Nigerian man has been convicted for the rape and sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl he befriended online.Simon Owoade of St Anselms Road, Hayes, pleaded guilty on Monday, December 3, at Harrow Crown Court. He is due to be sentenced in January 2019.A further two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 years that Owoade admitted to were left to lie on file.Between 1 June and late July 2017, Owoade made contact with the victim through a social media messaging site.Following numerous messages, Owoade managed to persuade the victim to meet him in London and Potters Bar on a number of occasions. He would take her to various places including car parks and hotels where he would sexually assault her.Owoade shared pornographic material with the victim and the girl was encouraged to share naked photos of herself. In July 2017, the victim stopped communicating with Owoade, but in April 2018 he texted her asking to meet up because he missed her. They met up numerous times until 18 May, when the matter was reported to police by the victim's parents.Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command said:"I would like to praise the victim for her courage in speaking to officers and providing vital evidence to prosecute Owoade, who used his social media profile to gain the victim's trust, share intimate photos, and then use those images to coerce her into sexual activity."This is still very much a live enquiry. We are aware that Owoade had links with some charities who he involved himself with as a volunteer. This of course may have put him in direct contact with vulnerable people. It is very possible he has committed offences against others and I would appeal to anyone with information or concerns to contact police. Any information will be treated in the strictest confidence and we have specialist officers to support victims through the process.""Between 2006 and 2008, Owoade was employed as a PCSO with the Met Police, working within the Osterley and Spring Grove Safer Neighbourhood Teams. We have received no reports of any offences being committed in his capacity as a PCSO and Owoade left the organisation of his own volition in 2008.
