IMO 2018: Deranged Man slams Okorocha, Predicts Tony Nwulu As Next Governor (VIDEO)

IMO 2018: Deranged Man slams Okorocha, Predicts Tony Nwulu As Next Governor (VIDEO)A mentally unstable man was sighted  in Owerri Imo State capital uttering words of victory for Tony Nwulu, the Governorship aspirant for UPP in the 2019 election. The popular deranged man who is known for allegedly uttering spiritual statements that usually prove to be true on few occasions has once again caught exposing the ills of the state governor, Rochas Okorocha and showering praises on Imo UPP gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Tony Nwulu.  The madman, very articulate in his utterances was caught on camera by a roving online reporter within the city of Owerri  heaping praises on Nwulu and predicting that he will  be the next governor of Imo State. According to the reporter, the deranged man stated in his utterance that youths in Imo State are jobless and he was seen hitting his chest in affirmation that Hon. Tony Nwulu is the only Messiah Imo Youths needs now for jobs creation and human capacity development.  Surprisingly, the reporter also noted the way the madman spelt out social vices like cultism, kidnapping and criminality in the state, saying that Hon. Nwulu will be the only person to tackle such vices headlong and provide jobs for Imo youths. In reaction to this, many observers are with mixed feelings to ascertain whether the man is truly mad or a spiritualist who dresses tattered. However, the reporter who captured the video can only pick his words but afraid to inquire from him about his mental status. Watch Video Nonetheless, Hon. Tony Nwulu who is currently a Federal House of Representatives Member representing Oshodi-Isolo in the 8th assembly, sponsored Not Too Young To Run Bill and embarked on several constituency projects as a current legislator before Imo Youths clamoured and called on him to Run for Imo Gubernatorial election to save the state from being completely written off. He is seen by some Imo youths as the next promising governor.

Moderate exercise just three times a week can take 10 years off your brain age, new study says

A new study has found that exercising three times a week and eating healthily could reverse the mental decline of ageing by 10 years. The study conducted by researchers at Duke University Medical Centre in the US recruited 160 sedentary people with an average age of 65 who did not have dementia but had problems with decision-making and planning. The researchers divided the 160 participants into four groups. One did only the exercise programme, another did it alongside the healthy diet, while the rest did either the dietary component or received health advice phone calls. Those given only health advice declined by six months in three thinking-skills tests. All other groups improved, particularly those both exercising and eating well.  A quarter of the subjects did 35-minute sessions of walking, cycling or jogging three times a week for six months, while eating a healthy diet. These people started out with an average mental age of 93, determined by a series of thinking-skills tests. But after six months, their mental age had improved to the level of an 84-year-old.Exercise and healthy diet are thought to improve thinking skills by helping the heart work better, thereby increasing blood flow to the brain. The study, published in the journal Neurology, shows a relatively short period of lifestyle change can make a serious difference to age-related thinking problems.

UN Security Council raises concern over drug abuse in Nigeria

UN Security Council raises concern over drug abuse in NigeriaThe United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) says Nigeria, and West and Central Africa face “disruptive and destabilising” new trends regarding drug trafficking, drug use and other crimes.   The Executive Director of UNODC, Yury Fedotov, said this while briefing the UN Security Council session, presided by Côte d’Ivoire. The briefing was the council’s first thematic meeting on ‘Drug Trafficking and its Threat to Stability, Peace and Security’, since December 2013.   Fedotov said the UNODC’s 2018 World Drug Report shows that West and Central Africa, along with North African countries, accounted for 87 per cent of pharmaceutical opioids seized globally. The UNODC chief said: “This is largely due to rising use of tramadol, an opioid painkiller that is widely trafficked for non-medical use in the region".  “Africa, along with Asia, also saw the largest rises in cocaine seizures, suggesting that cocaine trafficking and consumption have spread to these markets.Through UNODC AIRCOP, which works in several African airports, we know that heroin seizures are on the rise across the region with Lagos, Accra and Cotonou airports high on the list, closely followed by Bamako, Lomé and Ouagadougou.Methamphetamine seizures have now almost reached the same level as cocaine seizures, with Lagos and Cotonou being the main airports concerned. Recently, an increased number of seizures of precursors such as Ephedrine and Phenacetine has been recorded at both airports, which may indicate the existence of new laboratories producing psychoactive substances.’’  The head of UNODC noted increasing transiting of opiates through West Africa en route to European and North American markets. “UNODC is registering new alarming trends on drug trafficking in West and Central Africa with disruptive and destabilising effects on governance, security, economic growth and public health,” he said.   Drug use is also rising across the region, “representing a serious threat to public health,” according to the UN crime fighting chief. Fedotov noted that the agency estimated that in 2016, there were more than 34 million cannabis users and 1.8 million cocaine users in West and Central Africa. Only one in 18 drug users with addiction issues have access to medical treatment, Fedotov regretted.   At the same time, he said, the region is grappling with many other crime-related security threats, including arms trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, cybercrime and maritime piracy as well as threats posed by terrorism.
