Police have arrested a pastor affiliated to Living Gospel Church located
in Mukono, and The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries in Uganda, for
allegedly sodomising a 16 year old male member of his flock.Simon Mpinga
alias Pastor Ronnie 31 was arrested on Wednesday, November 27,
following a report filed against him by the victim. 
According
to a case reported at Mukono Police Station, it's alleged that the
victim had requested for 20000/= (Twenty Thousand Uganda Shillings) from
the pastor. He however told the boy that the money was at his home.
Mpinga asked the victim to proceed and wait for him in his house,
promising to provide him with the requested financial assistance.In his
statement the victim said that the pastor arrived at home late in
company of his friend and offered him some booze which he declined.
Mpinga then convinced the victim to sleep over since it was already too
late for him to return home."In the middle of the night he started
caressing, squeezing as he drew closer and eventually started kissing
me. I tried to resist but he was strong and threatened to harm me if i
didn't. However promised to introduce me to a new life of earning
dollars and being rich," the victim told police. 
Its
alleged that the victim applied a lubrication cream onto the victim's
anus and sodomised him. He then called in his friend to capture a video
and still photos of the acts saying the donors would increase his
funding.After waking up in the morning, the victim was severely injured
and discovered a seminal fluid discharge coming out of his anus. He was
then escorted to Bank of Africa Mukono Branch and given 10000/= (Ten
thousand uganda shillings only) as part of the money he had requested
for.The victim who was by that time in a very critical health condition
and had faced the worst form of sexual abuse with multiple effects
decided to open up to his mother who immediately reported the matter to
police.The victim was subjected to a medical examination and the
doctor's report confirmed an unnatural sexual connection had been
committed in violation of Uganda's Penal Code Act.Further inquiries
reveal Pastor Simon Mpinga as a habitual sodomy suspect after
investigators confirming this as the second time he is being arrested at
Mukono Police Station on sodomy charges.The suspect was first arrested
in May 2016 on sodomy allegations, he however managed to bribe his way
into the victim's family and the case prematurely closed after
expression of no further interest in the case by the victim's family.The
police soon took up the case again and attempts to secure him a bond by
some legal officers claiming to be affliated with Uganda Human Rights
Commission on Wednesday were futile. Thee suspect is currently being
detained at Mukono Police Station on charges related to sodomy, rape and
defilement.In Uganda, Sodomy is illegal. According to Section 145 (a)
of the Penal Code Act, any person who has carnal knowledge of any person
against the order of nature commits an offence and is liable to
imprisonment for life.

The Lagos state Traffic Management Authority LASTMA, has accused men of
the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad FSARS in the state of murdering one of
its personnel, Mr Adeyemo, while he was carrying out his duties in the
Iyana Ipaja area of the state yesterday November 28th. In a post shared
on twitter this morning on their official twitter handle, LASTMA posted
the photo above and wrote''We are deeply saddened to confirm the death
of one of our gallant officers, Adeyemo Rotimi, who was murdered in cold
blood by suspected FSARS operative while discharging his lawful duties
at his point in Iyana Ipaja on the 28th of November, 2018''No further
details of how the unfortunate incident occured. The police is yet to
react to this allegation. A twitter user who knew the deceased said he
recently welcomed a set of twins.

Nigerian Army says it has discovered that Boko Haram terrorists have
started using drones and foreign fighters. The Army in a statement by
Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman on Wednesday said‘we have noticed
daring moves by the terrorists, increased use of drones against our
defensive positions and infusion of foreign fighters in their
ranks.These potent threats require us to continually review our
operations. The Army also expressed gratitude to the President,
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria,
President Buhari (GCFR) for visiting the troops including some of the
wounded officers and soldiers in the hospitals saying ‘we thank His
Excellency the Executive Governor and good people of Borno State who
have taken the brunt of the nefarious activities of the Boko Haram
terrorists.Our gratitude also goes to the Honourable Minister of
Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs, who have all

Gentlemen of the press, in continuation with our resolve to keep
Nigerians well informed of the activities of the Nigerian Army, I will
be briefing you on the recent happenings in the North East of Nigeria.
In the recent weeks, Nigerian troops deployed in the North East of
Nigeria under Operation LAFIYA DOLE have come under series of attacks by
large numbers of Boko Haram Terrorists. Specifically, the Nigerian Army
troops deployed at KUKAWA, NGOSHE, KARETO and GAJIRAM came under attack
at different times within a 2 week period from 2 – 17th November
2018.Each of these incidents were successfully repelled and several
members of the terrorists were killed. However, a total of 16 personnel
were killed in the course of these attacks while 12 soldiers were
wounded in action and are receiving treatment at our military medical
facilities. 2. As you are all aware, Nigeria is contributing troops to
the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) which has its headquarters
in N’djamena, in the Republic of Chad. One of the Nigerian battalions
(157 TF Bn), deployed under the auspices of the MNJTF was attacked at
their Base on the outskirts of a town called METELE on 18th November
2018. During the attack, the troops were forced to withdraw and several
casualties were recorded. As at date 23 personnel were killed in action
and 31 personnel were wounded in action and have been evacuated to
several medical hospitals within Borno State. The Nigerian Army
commiserates with the MNJTF at this difficult time and wishes to state
that all necessary support will be rendered to the MNJTF to reverse this
resurgence of the Boko Haram Terrorists.3. The Nigerian Army wishes to
further commiserate with the families of the gallant officers and
soldiers that paid the supreme price in the course of defending their
fatherland. The sacrifices of these fallen heroes will not be in vain.
We also wish all those wounded in action speedy recovery and assure them
of our continued support and care.4. The incident of 18th November
2018, happened at a time when the Nigerian Army was planning to hold the
Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference for 2018 in Benin City, Edo
State. On account of this incident, the Conference had to be moved from
Benin City to Maiduguri to enable the Nigerian Army leadership get
closer to the troops on the ground and to better appraise our
activities, assess our performance and identify our shortcomings as an
Army. 5. We are also sensitive to the fact that the nation is
approaching an election year and thus we must be prepared to assist in
providing security for the peaceful conduct of elections. Accordingly,
the theme for this year’s annual conference is aptly titled, “Optimizing
the Operational Efficiency of the Nigerian Army Towards Safeguarding
Democracy and National Security in Nigeria”. Let me at this juncture
assure all Nigerians and indeed the international community that the NA
will work optimally, in conjunction with other security agencies to
provide a secure environment for peace and unity in Nigeria. 6. Since
2015, the Nigerian Army in conjunction with sister services and other
security agencies have systematically degraded the capabilities and
capacity of Boko Haram terrorists and many successes were achieved.
However, in the last 2 – 3 months, we have noticed daring moves by the
terrorists, increased use of drones against our defensive positions and
infusion of foreign fighters in their ranks. These potent threats
require us to continually review our operations. 7. At this point permit
me to implore all of us to spare a thought for the brave men and women
of the Nigerian Army who paid the supreme price for the security of
Nigeria. The Nigerian Army will continue to support the families of
these brave officers and soldiers and pray that their souls rest in

Nigerian man and his accomplice have been jailed in the UK for 18 years
for committing more than a dozen armed robberies at bookmakers across
London.Nathan Ugbaja, 29, and Cameron Weston, 29, were charged with
conspiracy to rob and possession of a firearm in May 2018. Weston
pleaded guilty to his involvement and Ugbaja was found guilty on Monday,
12 November following a six-day trial at Kingston Crown Court in
London.Both defendants were jailed on Wednesday, 28 November at the same
court. Weston was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment, and Ugbaja
was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.Weston and Ugbaja were
responsible for a total of 20 robberies which took place between 27
December 2017 and Friday, 25 May. The first six offences occurred within
a mile radius of each other in the Battersea area, and approximately a
mile away from Weston’s home address. Weston and Ugbaja then moved their
offending further afield to south of Battersea and into Croydon and
Bromley.

State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has accepted the offer of the State
Commissioner for Urban Development and Physical Planning, Dr Reason Onya
to step aside for a comprehensive investigation into the collapse of
the 7-Storey building in Port Harcourt last GFriday November
23rd. Disclosing this to news men, the state Commissioner for
Information and Communication, Barrister Emma Okah, said that the
resolution was to ensure unfettered investigations.He said that the
investigation into the Collapse of the 7-Storey building will be carried
out by the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to be established by the
Rivers State GovernmentThe Information and Communication Commissioner
noted that the Rivers State Governor commiserated with the families that
have lost their loved ones and directed that adequate care be extended
to all those rescued alive.He noted that the State Government will
continue with the ongoing rescue mission at the site of the collapsed
7-storey building.Meawhile one more corpse of one of the victims trapped
in the building was recovered yesterday. Many others including a
pregnant woman that sells African salad aka Abacha to the construction
workers, are still trapped in the building.Family members of those still
trapped in the rubble plan to hold a protest march in the state later
today. They have accused the rescue team put up by the state of
negligence and slow pace to the rescue operation.

Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State, yesterday, urged the Inspector
General of Police to reactivate the charges of forgery and conspiracy to
forge a police report for which the former governor of the state,
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was standing trial before assuming office in
November 2010. The PDP recalled that Aregbesola and one other person
were facing a six count charge before an Abuja High Court for allegedly
forging and presenting a fake police report to an election petition
tribunal in 2007. In a statement by state chairman of the party, Soji
Adagunodo argued that now that Aregbesola no longer enjoys
constitutional immunity, the Inspector General of Police was duty bound
to arrest him and present him before the court to prove his innocence in
the charge. While recalling that it was on the basis of the forged
police report that the Appellate tribunal in Ibadan ordered a retrial of
Aregbesola’s petition in 2009, Adagunodo said it was curious that the
former governor and his party abandoned the report when their petition
went back for trail in the same year. The Party said since time does not
run against the state in criminal matters, the Attorney General of the
Federation and the Inspector General of Police have no excuse whatsoever
to abandon the case of forgery against the former governor.

for Whitney Houston's former husband Bobby Brown, have sued Showtime
Networks and the BBC over the documentary "Whitney: Can I Be Me,"
alleging that Showtime, the BBC and several other defendants violated
their rights by improperly using footage from the production of the 2005
reality series "Being Bobby Brown."The lawsuit claims that Brown never
signed a release for the film to utilize footage from the 2005 reality
TV series “Being Bobby Brown”.The lawsuit adds that Brown never
consented for his likenesses to appear in the film at all. The complaint
also points out that Brown’s production company Brownhouse
Entertainment is credited at the end of the film. Brown’s legal team
argues that the credits falsely suggest that Brownhouse authorized the
footage that appears in the movie.In the lawsuit filed in U.S. District
Court's New York southern district,Brown is asking for $2 million from
defendants Passion Pictures, Tracey Baker-Simmons, Wanda Shelley, B2
Entertainment and Simmons Shelley Entertainment, as well as Showtime and
the BBC.

Law enforcement officers have seized 38 bricks of cocaine at JFK
Airport, New York, valuing $1.3 million.According to ABC News, U.S.
Customs and Border Protection, CBP, are looking for the owner of the
suitcase that went unclaimed.It is believed that the suitcase came from a
flight from Quito, Ecuador straight into JFK last week, taking
advantage of the busy Thanksgiving holiday.The seizure of the cocaine,
which weighs about 100 pounds, is a huge win for the CBP who are always

A five-man panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto and presided
over by Justice Hannatu Sankey has sentenced the Chairman of the Zamfara
State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Murtala Adamu Jengebe to
a cumulative jail term of 41 years.Jengebe was convicted by the court
after the appellate court found him guilty on the seven out of the 10
counts for which he was earlier acquitted at the Federal High Court,
Gusau, Zamfara State.In the lead judgment of the Court read by Justice
Habeeb Abiru, the earlier acquittal of the embattled Chairman by a
Federal High Court in Gusau was set aside.The appalate court held that
the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt seven out of the ten
counts of the money laundering charge brought against him by the EFCC.
He was consequently sentenced to five years imprisonment on each of four
of the counts and seven years each on three other counts
respectively.However, the Court ordered that the sentences shall run
concurrently.It would be recalled that on the 12th day of May 2017, the
Federal High Court sitting in Gusau presided over by Justice Z.B
Abubakar discharged and acquitted the convict on the 10 counts charge of
Money Laundering but convicted him for engaging in private business
while he was still in public service. An offence he was never charged
for by the Commission.Dissatisfied with the judgement of the lower
court, the prosecution approached the Court Of Appeal seeking it to set
aside the judgement of the lower court.

The killers of Elozino Joshualia Ogege, a 300 level student of Delta
State University, have given a chilling account of how she was
killed.Elozino, a First Class student, was murdered by a 4-man gang
consisting of 2 Yahoo boys, a security guard at her school, and a native
doctor, as she innocently sought accommodation. The men gave a
confession to newsmen yesterday, November 28, while being paraded at the
Delta State Police Command. 
The
suspects revealed how they killed Elozino with the help of a security
guard, Onos, who offered to assist the victim to secure an
accommodation.Onos said:I was contacted by Desmond and another to
provide a female student for Yahoo rituals. We had planned it, and when
Elozino approached me that she was looking for accommodation, I saw it
as a good opportunity.I contacted Desmond who told me to tell her to
come back the next day. So the next day, they brought a Corola car; and
when Elozino came, they used something on her face which made her
unconscious.We took her to a bush where we first plucked out one of her
eyes while she was still alive. She was even crying and begging us to
forgive her and let her go, but we plucked the other eye, removed her
breast and heart before she died.During his confession, Onos implicated
his supervisor by claiming that he was posted into the school by his
supervisor for the purposes of carrying out such missions when
contacted.But the Supervisor with a security company attached to the
University, Uche Nwaosisi, denied knowledge of the crime, stating that
he was among those who went after Onos when the police came to look for
him in the school. 
Nwaosisi
said:When all these were happening, Onos threatened to implicate me for
assisting the police to catch him. When the police caught him, they
discovered two phones with him, which he claimed I sold one to him. That
was my involvement .Desmond, who is into the "Yahoo Plus" line of
business, said Elozino is the fifth he has killed for ritual purposes.
He said the first four female victims were abducted at Oghara and killed
for the rituals, adding that Elozino’s murder was his first from the
University community in Abraka.

to him:Each time we killed, we removed the vital organs like the eyes,
the heart and the breast of the victims, normally females, and take to
the Baba (herbalist), who usually would ask us to come back.Baba used to
burn the heart and pound it to make powder substance out of it. It is
the powder that he gives us, which we apply before speaking to our
victims to make money from them. Any big woman we approach obliges us
and provides money for us.The native doctor, identified as Robinson,
denied being involved in previous murders and said God is his witness.
He said Elozino’s heart and eye happened to be the first he received
from the Yahoo Plus customers.He said he first met the boys seven years
ago when they brought an accident victim for him to cure, maintaining
that he specializes in treating bone fractures, making women pregnant,
preparing love portions for people, curing appendicitis and others.He
said when they came with Elozino’s body parts, they gave him N10,000,
promising to give him more money later, and asked him to make them
rich.The second Yahoo Plus suspect who was an accomplice of Desmond's
allegedly slumped and died as the police were closing in on him. The
female relative who was used to make a call relating to their illicit
operation - a minor - was arrested and is in police custody.Addressing
the journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew
Aniamaka maintained that, now that all the killers of Elozino have been
caught except the one who slumped and died, the police will arraign them
in court.
