Treasury Looting: ''Buhari is shielding his corrupt relatives'' PDP

PDP has accused President Buhari of shielding members of his family that were recently alleged to have been part of a fraud syndicate. Read the statement from the party belowThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenges President Muhammadu Buhari to showcase his much touted integrity by allowing an open investigation of his associates and close relatives, who were mentioned in serial looting of public resources. The party says that in a bid to further conceal the sleazes of the Buhari Presidency, the Presidency handlers have gagged the confession of one Amina Mohammed, paraded by the Department of State Services (DSS), who revealed in her open confession that persons close to President Muhammadu Buhari were involved in serial fraud and looting of public resources under official cover.Having reviewed all these issues, including the lame denials by those mentioned by the suspect, as well as the failure of the security agency to allow the suspect to complete her open confession, the PDP challenges President Buhari to order an open hearing into the matter, if, indeed, the Presidency has nothing to hide. The party also challenges President Buhari to immediately make public the report of the investigation of the former aide of the First Lady, Mr. Baba-Inna, who was arrested in September this year, over accusations of receiving N2.5 billion as donations from politicians, businessmen and women on behalf of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Our party holds that President Buhari cannot be parading himself as Mr. Integrity while condoning acts of corruption by his associates and close relatives as well as a cabal in his presidency, which the First Lady had even alluded to, if he is not directly benefiting from those sleazesThe PDP also dares President Buhari to make public the official report allegedly indicting his Presidency on the siphoning of over N11 trillion in the petroleum sector, including the N9 trillion oil sleaze detailed in the leaked memo at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).Furthermore, the Buhari Presidency should allow an open inquest into the alleged diversion of defence funds, including part of the $1 billion drawn from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) for purchase of military hardware and welfare of our soldiers, to fund his ill-fated re-election campaign. The PDP also challenges President Buhari to make public the report of the looting of over N33 billion meant for the purchase of food for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as well as another N18 billion IDP fund, discovered by the Senate, to have been diverted to APC interests. It is unfortunate that President Buhari has allowed the festering of sundry racketeering and abuse of fiscal process in his presidency, a situation, which casts a long shadow on his acclaimed integrity as a leader.Unless President Buhari allows an open inquest on his associates and close relatives involved in alleged treasury looting, he lacks all moral standing to seek re-election by Nigerians, who have been bearing the brunt of his misrule in the last three and half years.

16-year-old boy charged with killing his pregnant classmate and their unborn child

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with killing a pregnant classmate and her unborn child, of whom he was the father, authorities say.Police found 17-year-old Breana Rouhselang's body in a trash bin behind a restaurant in Mishawaka, Indiana, early on Sunday. Authorities say she was killed by that baby's father, 16-year-old Aaron R. Trejo. Trejo was angry that Rouhselang told him she was pregnant after it was too late to get an abortion, according to court documents.  Trejo told police, according to court documents:I took action....I took her life.Trejo was charged Monday with murder and feticide in St. Joseph County Superior Court. Though a minor, he is being charged as an adult. Rouhselang and Trejo attended Mishawaka High School. Trejo was a member of the football team while Rouhselang was a team manager, officials said. Trejo knew Rouhselang was pregnant and that he was "supposed to be the father," according to court records. He said he didn't want a baby and neither did Rouhselang, according to the records. Rouhselang's mother told police that her daughter, who was six months pregnant, had gone to talk to the father of her unborn child, Trejo, around 11 p.m. on Saturday. Her mother became worried after Rouhselang didn't come home after several hours. She went to Trejo's home at around 1 a.m. Trejo told her that he went to the alley behind the girl's home to talk to her, but she never showed up. Hours later, officer found Rouhselang's glasses and bloody stocking cap in an alley. Soon, they found Rouhselang's body covered with a black plastic trash bag in a dumpster.Police said Trejo had thought about killing his pregnant high school classmate for about a week. He eventually confessed to police that he stabbed Rouhselang in the heart with a knife he brought from home, the affidavit said. He then put a black plastic bag that he also brought from home over Rouhselang's body. Trejo then put Rouhselang in a dumpster after which he walked to the river and threw her phone and his knife into the water, according to court documents. An autopsy found that Rouhselang died from multiple stab wounds and that a scarf she had been wearing at the time was tied so tightly that she was being strangled before she died, according to the affidavit.

Noble Igwe Captures 750 Smiles As He Tours The Nation Sharing Happiness With Maltina

With over 200 million people and 400 ethnic groups, Nigeria is blessed with a diverse group of people. However, despite our differences, few things bring us together like a good laugh. In spite of our socio-economic issues, Nigerians are wholly happy people, and you never have to search for too long to find a smiling face.
In celebration of this, and as part of Maltina’s theme of sharing happiness, the premium malt drink has partnered with fashion enthusiast, Noble Igwe to go on a tour of the country and capture 1000 smiles.
We have crossed the 750 mark and here are some of the smiles we have captured:
The Contagious Smile

Just as the name implies, the “Contagious” smile is that smile that just makes you smile in return. Even when you’re having a really bad day, this is the kind of smile that makes you suspend your worries and flex those facial muscles. The contagious smile creates a resounding ripple effect. If you come across a contagious smile, odds are you would be smiling too.

The Energetic Smile

An Energetic smile, an almost forced expression of joy. A bold smile, which involves the total use of your facial muscles and when you see someone smile with so much energy, it’s hard not to return the favour.

The Affectionate Smile

The affectionate smile is a kind of smile that makes you think of home, it gets you nostalgic bringing back memories of the first time you received a smile of gratitude from a loved one or the first time you saw that beautiful, glamorous looking girl you like. It comes from a place of love.

The  Victorious Smile

That smile that comes with the song “Victory Is Mine”. There is a particular feeling that comes from working so hard and attaining the fruit of labour. The moment you have been able to achieve a set goal which involved intensive effort, a smile of victory is needed.

The Glowing Smile

That moment your face radiates happiness because you’re genuinely happy about your life. That bright and shiny smile that tells the world you are confident and truly believe you can do anything in life.

The Captivating Smile

That soul-stirring smile that allows you to attract new people. That moment you walk into a room with a charming smile and everyone wants to be around you.

The Subtle Smile

We all have the internal beauty contained within each and every one of us, that good that makes us loved and acceptable amongst our friends and often with loved ones. The subtle smile is one which radiates that inner beauty and projects a combination of great qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses. We all have that subtle smile inside of us, we just have to let it show.

The Eccentric Smile
Life isn’t perfect, however true joy isn’t often from an absence of struggles and challenges, but rather from a place of content and appreciation for life. Despite the hardship and challenges, the eccentric smile is the type that gets us through these moments.
So there you have it, as we commemorate the 750 smiles milestone, these are the various beautiful smiles, but we aren’t done yet, we are on a greater mission to complete 1000 smiles. So Nigeria .. keep smiling with Maltina.

'Thank you for returning illegally stolen funds' - President Buhari tells Swiss governmentPresident Buhari today in Abuja said Nigerian government remains deeply grateful to the government and people of Switzerland for their support in resuscitating the economy, especially the return of illegally stolen funds. Receiving Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Mr George Steiner, at the Presidential Villa, President Buhari said the return of stolen funds and interventions in the crisis in the North East further indicate the Swiss government’s commitment to the development of Nigeria. “We are grateful to the Swiss government for allowing illegally stolen funds to be brought back to Nigeria,’’ he said. The President noted that the facilitating roles the Swiss government had been playing in the North East, particularly in reaching out to Internally Displaced Persons, had been most helpful, adding that bilateral relations between both countries will continue to be strengthened. Responding, the Swiss Ambassador said his government will always be disposed to supporting Nigeria in ensuring peace in the country, especially in the North East. “We have strong and solid relations with Nigeria. It’s an honour and privilege for us to contribute to issues of importance in the country,’’ he added. Steiner told President Buhari that the Swiss government looks forward to having stronger relations on economic issues with Nigeria that will be mutually beneficial, pointing out that the ongoing reforms in the country already send right signals to investors
