2019: Oshiomhole an undertaker sent by PDP to destroy our party – APC Chairman, Adebiyi
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State, Chief Derin Adebiyi, has described the party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as an undertaker planted by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to destroy the ruling party.
The Oshiomhole led National Working Committee of APC had three days ago announced the dissolution of state and local executive committees in both Ogun and Imo states.
Adebiyi told Sun that the dissolution was an exercise in futility, adding that if not for President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC would ceased to exist because of Oshiomhole’s actions.
He continued, “My stand remains unchanged. The dissolution is of no consequence, patently illegal and of course, I would call it executive rascality.
“Between me and you, Oshiomhole was only using the name of the NWC to perpetrate illegality, he is the only person that doesn’t want to see us because of his penchant for illegalities.
“How would you explain in an election year a national chairman behaving that way? All over Nigeria people are not happy with him in APC.
“I believe people are maintaining graveyard silence because they don’t want to rock the boat of the party because of election.
“If not for the interest people have in President Muhammadu Buhari, I can tell you as at today, there will be no APC again because of the actions of Oshiomhole.
“The man is behaving like an undertaker. And I have strong feelings that Oshiomhole is an agent of opposition.
“He was planted by the PDP to destroy APC because in my 44 years in politics, I have not seen anybody at the helm of party affairs behave that way, and yet, you want that party to win.
“It is not done! I have said it severally and I will repeat it, Oshiomhole is behaving as a trade unionist.
“You know that he used to be a professional agitator, he has forgotten that as at now that he is in executive position, he needs to exhibit characters of a good leader.

Cultists arrested in Lagos
Operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS), Police Command, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos State, have arrested seven suspected cultists alleged to be terrorising residents of Onigbedu, Itori, in Ewekoro area of Ogun State.
The Assistant-Inspector General (AIG), Lawal Shehu, in charge of Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, explained that on December 9, 2018, his men got an intelligence report, that cult groups were terrorizing residents of Onigbedu.
He quickly deployed operatives, leading to the arrest of seven young men identified as Odugbemi Abayomi (28), Lukman Isiaka Olawale (28), Kasali Azeez (27), Olanite Olamide (25), Edunjobi Adedayo (33), Yekini Kazeem (28) and Yekini Musedeen (22).
The AIG claimed that the suspects had confessed to the crime. He said that a locally made pistol and some charms were recovered from the suspects.
Shehu said: “The cultists were becoming a nuisance in the society. They are irritating and people were complaining. Thus on my arrival, I said to myself that I was not going to allow cultists to sleep, and fortunately, we arrested some of them. This is not the end, but the beginning. The arrest we made now is just the beginning. We want to assure everybody, both in Lagos and Ogun commands, that we are ready to fight crime and criminals. However, I will also like to reemphasize that we need cooperation and information from members of the public.
“Everyone is a stakeholder in the war against crime and criminals. When you want to go to bed, please make sure you lock everywhere. Ensure you are security conscious. The police are ready to assist the society, by ensuring that these criminals, who move during the day and night are stopped!”
One of the cult members, Adedayo, who introduced himself as a caterer, said: “I had a disagreement with my apprentice. We quarreled and I left in anger. I headed to my father’s house, who is a goldsmith. I went to his house and took a faulty gun. I wanted to scare my friend (apprentice) with the gun . Unfortunately, I was at a hotel, having fun with my friends when the police burst into the place and arrested me.”

Dickson said that the sole motivation of such unscrupulous characters was to destabilize and subvert the achievements of his administration in the past seven years.
Dickson made the comment during a live radio media chat in Yenagoa, on Thursday night.
The governor advised politicians not to overheat the polity, as they go about their campaigns insisting that people should be free to campaign and vote candidates of their choice.
He said Bayelsa was one of the safest and most stable in the country as a result of the huge investments his administration made in the security sector of the state.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to be more committed to monitoring and observing the behaviour and activities of their wards as the government intensified the campaign against the scourge of cultism and drug abuse.
The governor who commended the security services for their determination and commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizenry, called on leaders at all levels to promote peaceful coexistence.
He ascribed the frequent change of Police Commissioners in the state to a sinister plot by the leadership of the opposition party in the state who want someone who will protect them and cover up their activities.
Dickson stressed that while it was not within his constitutional powers to determine who get posted to his state, it was his responsibility to ensure that things were done properly to secure the state.
The governor said the recent signing of the law, amending the Community Safety and Vigilante Corps would create increased opportunity for the citizens to participate more effectively in the security of their state.
He equally noted that, his administration had taken deliberate steps to stabilize the state through infrastructure and human capacity development in the past seven years.
His words: “Bayelsa remains one of the safest and most stable states in this region and in Nigeria. This is as a result of a lot of factors and measures put in place by this administration. The leadership of this state has shown maturity in how we have been managing things, even matters that are provocative.
“I want to commend the people of Bayelsa for their peaceful disposition and commitment to peace and order.
