Fayose visits INEC, keeps mum

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State visited the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday afternoon.
Journalists, numbering over 15 who had just finished covering a meeting between the INEC and state electoral bodies over the alleged underage voting in Kano State, ran into Fayose at the reception of the INEC office and immediately began asking him questions.
The governor simply told journalists to respect his decision.Fayose, who did not expect to see journalists, however, refused to state the reason for his visit.
Fayose, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, subsequently went into one of the offices and sat down.
The Peoples Democratic Party had on Tuesday asked the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to resign, insisting that he was incapable of organising a free and fair election.
INEC is expected to hold a governorship election in Ekiti State in less than five months’ time.
