The son-in-law of Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, has reportedly declared his intention to run for governor of the state in 2019.
Nwosu, who is also Okorocha’s chief of staff, made the declaration in his country home in Eziama Obire, Vanguard reports.
This comes on the heels of Okorocha reiterating his determination to aid Nwosu’s gubernatorial ambition while he himself contests for the Imo West senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Okorocha said his decision to run for a senatorial seat is to make sure the people are represented by someone who has their interest at heart.
Nwosu’s declaration and Okorocha’s support for him have not gone down well in the Imo state chapter of the APC as other candidates demand a chance at the polls.
Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, an aspirant, told his supporters the APC does not belong o one man.
He said, “There is no one man, no matter who the person is that owns this party. This party belongs to all of us. You must work hard to ensure that this party is strong in your area.
