Maria Ponce Camacho, who is the reigning Miss Spain became the first
ever transgender woman to compete in Miss Universe pageant.After the
preliminary rounds on Sunday, the 27-year-old model said it was "an
honor and pride" to be part of the history of the pageant."This is for
you, for those who have no visibility, no voice, because we all deserve a
world of respect, inclusion and freedom," Ponce wrote on Instagram on
Friday. "And today I am here, proudly representing my nation, all women
and human rights."
The
record set by Angele comes after the Miss Universe organization was
heavily criticized in 2012 after disqualifying a transgender
woman, Jenna Talackova from the Miss Canada competition because she was
not "naturally born" a woman.
After
Talackova threatened legal action, the organization then owned by
Donald Trump changed the rules to allow transgender contestants in its
pageants."As long as she meets the standards of legal gender recognition
requirements of Canada, which we understand that she does, Jenna
Talackova is free to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant,"
Trump attorney Michael Cohen said at the time. "Nobody is capitulating .
. . Like all the other contestants, [Talackova] is wished the best of
luck by Mr. Trump."
Talackova
ultimately finished in the top 12 of the Miss Canada pageant and was
one of four contestants awarded "Miss Congeniality." But did not advance
to the Miss Universe pageant that year.
Speaking
on making history, Ponce, who is from Pilas in southern Spain, credited
her family for supporting her."They're my foundation so that my life
could unfold," Ponce told Today.com. "They saw to it that I did not have
a traumatic childhood. They are my strength."

rights lawyer, Femi Falana has said no leader in Nigeria can annul
elections in the country as was the case in 1993. Falana disclosed this
at the inauguration of the League of Anambra Professionals Legal
Defence Initiative, held in Lagos on Monday adding that for fear of ICC,
no Nigerian leader dared annul election again like a former Head of
State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), did in 1993. He also dismissed
the fear that President Muhammadu Buhari might be unwilling to leave
office if he should lose next year’s election. Falana said, “unlike in
1993 when the military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, successfully
annulled an election, that is no longer possible. Whoever does that now
will end up in The Hague.He is likely to be tried for crimes against
humanity because if you annul an election, you are likely to have a
monumental violence in the country which will lead to crimes against
humanity.Before the 2015 elections, the ICC warned that if there was any
problem in Nigeria, anybody who was responsible would be arrested and
charged like former President Laurent Gbagbo of Cote d’Ivoire. That was
the atmosphere under which President Goodluck conceded victory.”Falana
said he decided to speak on the issue in order to assure Nigerians that
election could no longer be annulled in Nigeria. This, he said, was
important because of the fear that had been expressed that if Buhari

presidency that he was responsible for the delay in the appointment of
Ministers by President Buhari in 2015. On Monday, Senior Special
Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said
President Buhari took six months in appointing his Ministers because the

notes to Buhari Our attention has been drawn to a statement by the
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam
Garba Shehu in which he blamed the failure of President Muhammadu
Buhari to appoint ministers until six months after taking over office on
the administration of former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.Speaking
on a Channels television programme on Monday December 17, Shehu had
claimed that it took President buhari who was sworn in on May 29, 2015
until November 11, 2015 to appoint his ministers because the “President
was given handover notes 48 hours to the handover of power”.As strange
as that particular assertion may sound, it still beggars belief that a
spokesman of a President who is seeking re-election would still be
looking for a scapegoat for the administration’s failure, at a time he
should be showcasing his scorecard. That amounts to merely clutching at
straws. One thing is as clear as daylight: The Jonathan administration
has absolutely nothing to do with the failure of this government to
appoint ministers early enough to inspire confidence in investors
because it is obvious that handover notes from a predecessor does not
contain the list of ministers for the incoming administration.However,
that is even making light of Garba Shehu’s unending embarrassing gaffe.
It is expected that a man who has been around the corridors of power for
that long, beginning from when he served as a media adviser under
President Obasanjo for years, should understand Government’s basic
functions and procedures. Handover notes, being transitioning documents,
are usually received by an incoming President from his predecessor at
the time of change of government. It is not a document that guides a
President to appoint his ministers.Under normal circumstances, a newly
inaugurated President needs the support of his ministers, who would
handle different departments of Government, to study and understand his
handover notes for effective performance of his initial duties. Those
who think like Shehu that a Government would not function properly if it
does not receive handover notes in time, should be reminded that there
is no law establishing the process. It is simply a matter of convenience
for an outgoing President to develop handover notes to guide his
successor understand key issues and hit the ground running.In his own
case, former president Jonathan magnanimously set up a transition team
that produced the handover document which President Buhari received
ahead of his inauguration. Anyone who uses handover notes to justify a
President’s indiscretion of not appointing ministers until after
spending six months in power, is either being mischievous or does not
really understand governance processes. Father Mbaka : The priest in the
eye of the storm Sometimes, when Mr. Shehu speaks, he comes across as
someone who is unaware of the fact that, under our laws, an
administration is elected for a tenure of four years within which it is
expected to have fulfilled its campaign promises, before returning to
the electorates for a fresh mandate.In case he does not know, Shehu
should be reminded that blaming others for one’s failures is not a prove
of performance. Assuming, without out conceding, that the last
administration was as bad as they want Nigerians to believe, is it not a
fact of governance that it is the duty of every responsible
administration to seek to make better the situation it met on ground?
Anything less than that is a prove of incompetence for which a failed
administration has no moral justification to ask for a fresh mandate.
While members of the current administration continue to blame President
Jonathan for their failure to deliver on their mandate, they should be
reminded that there are many African success stories that proved that a
progress-minded administration has no business focusing only on the
past.From a past of the worst genocide in recent history, Rwandan
President Paul Kagame did not blame anybody when he took charge. He
simply hit the ground running, and today, we all know where Rwanda
stands in Africa’s growth and development index. The story is similar in
Cote d’Ivoire where President Alassane Ouattara was able to turn around
the Ivorian economy within two years after it had virtually collapsed
following the negative impact of the country’s worst political crisis.As
the Buhari Government nears its end, the minders of the administration
should please tell Nigerians what new projects, programmes and
institutions for good governance they have added to those established by
the various administrations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
since they took office on May 29, 2015. The truth is that this unhelpful

mother who drowned and burned her four-year-old daughter has been found
not guilty of murder by reason of insanity. Carly Ann Harris, 38,
murdered 4-year-old Amelia Brooke Harris in a "sacrifice" to God at
their home in South Wales this June. She told doctors she was a fallen
angel chosen by God and needed to prove her faith by offering her
daughter. 
The
court heard that the mother-of-three had suffered from schizophrenia
following a urinary tract infection in 2014. A psychiatrist said she
appeared to have experienced "paranoid and religious delusions" and
believed she had to kill Amelia to save the world, and was being tested
by God who would then return her daughter to her. 
l Today,
the jury returned a "special verdict" after hearing that psychiatrists
agreed Harris was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.

The
General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta
State, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, has assured that the 2018
edition of his yearly programme - “December 2 Remember” - will witness
supernatural touch of God, occasioning miracles and divine visitation
that will transform lives and careers. The programme, he recalled, has
recorded notable miracles in the past that testified to the glory of
God, the unchangeable changer and miracle worker.One of such striking
testimonies was the encounter of Pastor Dominic Mensah, from Kumasi,
Ghana who, in 2009, started having tales of woes, including inexplicable
deaths. 
According
to Mensah, on August 5, 2009, he lost his wife; three days later while
speaking to his father on phone, he died. A week later, his cousin who
stays with him also died. His financial administrator died after a
month. As if that was not enough, over 400 members deserted his church
in one month. Unable to comprehend what was happening, Pastor Mensah
said he fled to Accra to start another church. But for three years of
his ministry in Accra, he had less than 20 members in attendance. Still
in that confused state, he travelled to the United Kingdom and Isreal. 
Again,
“nothing happened” and he came back empty-handed. Helpless, he quit
ministry for one year and went into the business of selling used cars.
And that also crippled. One day, while fasting and praying, he cried to
God to reveal the cause of his problem. During the prayer, he “had a
revelation to tune his television station to Channel 25”, which he did;
and there he “saw Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin ministering.” After
watching the Prophet, he recalled he heard a word: “look for this man,
he will help you.” As at this time, he said he was broke. His words:
“Even in Ghana, I hide from my family because they will ask me of money,
and I don't have. So I have to borrow money from someone to come to
Mercy City, Nigeria. When I came to Mercy City, I went to the mountain
to pray for God to show me mercy. I really want to know what was wrong
with me. On Sunday night in my dream the man of God walked up to me and
said to me 'stand up, do you know why you are struggling?' I said I
don't. He said to me,’ your former spiritual father was caused and he
placed his hands on you.’ “Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin asked me if I
remember the words of my former spiritual father. I said yes. The first
time I met my former spiritual father, he placed his hands on my head
and said 'I prophesy over you from this day the kind of struggling am
struggling you will struggle the same, the kind of blessing I receive,
you will receive, in enjoyment you will enjoy.’ But he never enjoyed.
He lost his wife, father, cousin, ministry and had no children. He
struggled and I also struggled.” 
The
Prophet explained that the former spiritual father was caused and he
also transferred the cause upon Dominic. That, on the 39th birthday of
Mensah, he will die the same way the former spiritual father
died. However, the struggles of Pastor Mensah stopped from the moment he
received a touch from Owomowomo 1. He recalled: “Just as papa said,
after papa touched me, my situation changed. When I went back to Ghana
and started a ministry, within the space of six months I had more than
100 members. But I forgot to testify to the goodness of God, as it is
written in Revelations 12:11: ‘And they have conquered him by the blood
of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their
lives even unto death.’ “So when Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin came to
Ghana for a crusade, he located me and told me that I owe God a debt of
testimony. Again, papa said ‘I'm going to touch you for the second time
and you will begin to operate in a higher speed like me, and it came to
pass. “After the second touch, I started seeing visions, mentioning
people's names, the number of children they have, etc., just like my
papa. And my ministry started shooting up. I was blessed with cars,
landed property, houses, etc., and I can tell you that the grace of papa
is working in an extraordinary way in my life.”

Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun state has
sentenced Professor Richard Akindele, a former lecturer at the Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile Ife, to 2 years in prison for demanding sex to
pass one of his students, Monica Osagie. LIB reported earlier that
Akindele changed his plea from ‘not guilty’ to ‘guilty during the
hearing of the case on Monday December 17th.Akindele was first arraigned
in court by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related
Offences Commission (ICPC) on November 19th on a three count charge
bothering on "using his position as a lecturer in the Department of
Management and Accounting to demand for sexual benefit from a student
and fraudulently upgrade her result in Research Method course which she
supposedly failed in 2017". He initially pleaded not guilty.On Monday
morning during the hearing of the case, he made a u-turn,
pleading guilty to all the charges. The court has sentenced him to

Renowned Islamic
scholar, Ustaz Abdulfattah Adeyemi has told women that it is greedy of
them to want to have their husbands to themselves.Adeyemi, who is also
the founder of Baynakum Family Counseling Centre said women who try to
keep their husbands from practising polygamy are "thieves" who want
everything for themselves. He informed Muslim women that they only have
25% of their husbands while the other 75% belongs to other women. He
then encouraged them to be happy to share their husbands with other
women because men are the Angels that Allah sends to help women.The
cleric said this in a paper titled, "Charity, a path to Jannah," which
he presented in Abuja during the inauguration of Sisters of Jannah, a
Muslim women’s charity organisation.Ustaz admonished women "not to deny
their husbands polygamy," but should only pray that the husbands treat
all equally in any action taken.He said:Let me tell you that your
husband is only yours 25 per cent; your husband is not your property;
your only share of him is 25 per cent. The remaining 75 per cent belongs
to other women.If you want your husband 100 per cent, then you are a
thief; you are going beyond the 25 per cent that is yours; the remaining
75 per cent belongs to other ladies.Don’t think that because you are
wives, other women should not share your husbands.He lamented the
behaviour of some "overprotective" married women who deny the men their
wishes of having more wives and described such as "ungodly."Ustaz
Adeyemi added that overprotective women have only served to make many
men devise "smart means" of engaging in illegal relationships outside
their matrimonial homes. He urged housewives to "stop being
unnecessarily jealous of their husbands’ relationships
outside."According to him, men can only be faithful when they die. He
said:Men are not stupid, the men are even becoming smart. It’s until
when some die that you know how many children they have.I am not saying
that is what happens every time; but if you think you are too smart, men
are smarter.You have never been a man before in your life, you can’t
imagine what goes through in the minds of men. Let us fear Allah, as
much as possible.If Allah makes it easy for you, if they ask you to
shift, please shift a little so that somebody else can also sit down.And
you that is asking somebody else to shift, you have to fear Allah; you

scatter their lives for them. Don’t go there and constitute problem for

A
mother-of-two who had a series of health issues has been left
flat-chested after she decided to have the silicone implants removed
which she claims left her 'slowly dying'. 34-year-old Andrea King
reportedly spent a total of $35,000 (£28,000) on her breasts and went
from an A-cup to a C-cup to improve her confidence in 2014. But the
breast implants left her battling with dozens of mystery symptoms for
over four years. During her struggles, she claimed doctors were baffled
by condition and were even wondering if she had HIV. But after carrying
out a personal research, she discovered she had 'breast implant illness'
and had her implants removed immediately. Andrea said she took a huge
amount of medication for her problems after suffering around 54 symptoms
including Anxiety, Teeth grinding and teeth moving, Neck and shoulder
pains, Fatigue Chronic muscle pain and tightness, Insomnia, Memory loss
and Brain fog among many others.
According
to Mail Online, Andrea who is a personal trainer is no longer in pain
or suffering with blood poisoning, bacterial infections or extreme
fatigue. 
She
said: 'Five months ago I was diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases
such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, sjogrens syndrome and celiac. Not
to mention IBS.'My immune system was so low that I was tested for HIV as
well as several types of cancer as doctors were left baffled.'I tried

Buhari is not preparing for election, he's only interested in rigging “ PDP
The
Peoples Democratic Party has again called out President Buhari saying
the fact that he has failed to constitute his campaign council or
develop a clear-cut campaign blueprint, 61 days to the February
Presidential election, is an indication that he is not preparing to
stand elections. The party said 'Mr. President and his party, the All
Progressives Congress (APC) have failed to set up a campaign structure
because they are banking on their plots with the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC), under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to manipulate
the electoral process and rig for them'. It is clear that President
Buhari has been overwhelmed over his rejection by a vast majority of
Nigerians, who are bearing the brunt of his incompetent and corrupt
administration; that is why he cannot articulate any campaign message
after the failed launch of his copied and widely spurned “Next Level”
mantra. All over the world, patriotic and obligated leaders, who are
seeking (re-) elections, go to the electorate to canvass for votes with
their messages and solutions.But our President and the APC have been
busy procuring phony endorsements, harassing and intimidating opposition
leaders, compromising the electoral body to create illegal voting
centers, delaying election budgets and holding the process to ransom by
refusing to sign amendments to the Electoral Act that eliminate avenues
for rigging.President Buhari, who is already reputed to have wrecked our
once robust economy, crippled our critical sectors, entrenched
corruption at the high places, and whose administration has dangerously
divided our nation with escalated violence and daily bloodletting, is
seeking re-election with no solution to offer on any critical sector of
our economy. Mr. President has nothing to offer on security; he has no
message on education, agriculture, health, energy, power, employment,
manufacturing and other key sectors, which he wrecked in the last three
and half years.Instead of seeking ways to make amends, President Buhari,
ostensibly out of frustration over his rejection and imminent electoral
defeat in 2019, has arrogantly told Nigerians to be ready to face more
suffering and hardship in the remaining part of his tenure.On our own
part, our party and Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, are working
hard, campaigning across the country and offering solutions, for which
we have continued to receive overwhelming support from majority of
Nigerians, ahead of the 2019 general elections.It is instructive for
President Buhari and APC to note that they cannot have their way, as
Nigerians are determined in their resolve to resist any attempt by the
APC to rig in this election.
