Promasidor receives accolades on Career Workshop at Enugu Promasidor has been showered with encomiums by stakeholders in the education sector on its career workshop for secondary schools, the Promasidor Harness Your Dream (PHYD) which was recently extended to schools in Enugu. The fourth edition of PHYD was at the Queen School, Enugu after successful episodes in Lagos and Ogun States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The career workshop is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Promasidor, the makers of Cowbell, Loya Milk, Miksi, Top Tea and Onga, aimed at impacting positively on the lives of students in secondary schools across the country with needed tools and guidance for their future.Enugu State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eze expressed deep appreciation to Promasidor for adding value to the students by broadening their perception on the right career choices. He stated that the impact of the project would be felt in the future by the beneficiaries who would now be able to make the right career choices. Eze, who was represented by Chidiogo Ugodu from the Ministry, affirmed that PHYD was laudable and inspiring. “With this programme, the students now know about other career choices. Promasidor, we thank you for coming to Enugu. We thank you for adding value to us. We will like you to extend this programme to other parts of the state,” she requested.On his part, the Deputy Director Guidance and Counselling in the state Ministry of Education, Mr. Lazarus Ude; and the Principal of the host school, Mrs Ada Nweke also showered accolades on Promasidor for considering it worthy to guide students on career choices that would be beneficial to them in future. Furthermore, nollywood stars Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke (the Aneke Twins), who were the celebrity guests at the event explained that they might have studied other courses at the university if they had been exposed to career guidance. They therefore urged the students to put into use the knowledge acquired from the workshop in order to achieve their dreams. “Nothing guarantees a great future than a correct picture and you cannot feature in a future you don’t picture. Always keep your dreams alive,” they advised.In his remark, the Managing Director of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Anders Einarsson pledged the commitment of the company to its career guidance initiative, as well as other youth development projects. Einarsson, who was represented by the Head of Legal and Corporate Communications, Andrew Enahoro said: “Indeed, your school is fortunate to host this event, which is the fourth edition. Going by the testimonies of the target groups, some of which you might have viewed on the dedicated Facebook page (PHYD), the previous editions have recorded tremendous impact.” Promasidor staff, who served as resource persons, shared their educational and career experiences with the students and explained how to become professionals in several disciplines. These are: Personnel Management and Emerging Entrepreneurial Opportunities, Information and Communication Technology. Others are: Accounting and Business Management, and Digital Marketing.Promasidor has been in the forefront of promoting youth development. For 20 years, its flagship brand, Cowbellpedia, has encouraged Mathematics education through the Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics Television Quiz Show. Through Loya Swim Meet, which has just concluded its third edition, Promasidor also supports the sports development aspirations of hundreds of youths. Launched last year, PHYD is a pan-Nigeria project that is held every school term.
